I don't usually go a buy tools, however I had a great experience. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by Hadier and she was very nice and provided great customer service. As soon as I got in this store I asked the associate Haydee because I have no idea where any of the tools are located. I had to get three tools and Haydee knew exactly where they are located while she was checking customers in the register. She was super sweet and knowledgeable. In 1980 the first retail store opened in Lexington, Kentucky. It proved successful and they opened more stores selling house brands of tools sourced directly from the manufacturers. Today there are more than 1,200 stores in 48 states. Customers especially love their coupons, sidewalk sales, and large selection of tools. As others have stated, the lines in this particular store are the worst. I needed help finding some wheels for my cart and I did connect with an associate who pointed me to what I needed. When it was time to pay there was one register open for 10 people. This is not a quick ring up either. The cashier talked to everyone extensively. Some people purchase things that aren't on the floor and they have to be brought up from the back. I would really like this store better if they added self checkout. Even Five Below has self checkout now. If they can't do that at least get two registers open on a Saturday. Hopefully I won't have to come back here any time soon. read more

My husband is a fan of this chain of stores. He gets their emails and always looks at the coupons they offer for free items and things on sale. They have some very good deals oftentimes. The company started over 40 years ago in California. It began as a mail order tool business. They now have over 1000 stores in the US. And over half a dozen in the area. Each store is pretty much the same except for size and location. This one happened to be closest to where we were going to be for other errands, but we've come here before specifically to get one item, as well. They carry all sorts of tools -- hand and power. And a gazillion items (or so it seems) from clamps to tarps to generators. I like their various size tool organizers and chests. Most of the things I don't even know what they are -- or what they do. There are mainly men shopping here -- handy around these items or working in jobs that use shop equipment. But their stores are always busy and especially packed when they have their sales. If you need something in this category, this would be the place to come for quality items at a lower price point. Don't forget your discount coupons! read more

This is a hardware store. It stays open late until 8 p.m. which is what brought me in on a Tuesday night before Christmas. The little strip mall was all abuzz and pulling into the strip mall seemed indirect in that the side road did not seem to have a place turn left so we drove nearly all the way past the mall and did a U-turn to find our way into the strip mall. I was looking for a protective mask to where in dangerous surroundings. There were several types of masks on the mask aisle but it was unclear whether or which would suit my purpose. A female working that aisle would not so much as speak to us let alone offer assistance. There were only about six customers in the entire store but at the register- one female Cashier- with one customer ahead of us the Cashier, then, turned her back to us after we waited in line 20 minutes to pay for one item. As a result, we were unable to make this purchase. I decided it would be best if we took our business elsewhere. Wow, I miss Orchard hardware that used to be located on N. University Drive and had great customer service but unfortunately folded in Coral Springs. Two stars based upon this 12/20/22 visit. read more

My first venture here. I had heard, for many years, that some of their tools and items were really good deals, yet others were cheap (and not just in price). Taking that into consideration, and doing significant research on the product I was thinking of buying, I took the 20 minute drive to the store. Now, I am a tool nerd. I could easily spend a hour just browsing around my beloved, and now defunct, Orchard Supply House. But upon entering this store I was not impressed, and felt it was very cold and not welcoming. That said, I was there to purchase an emergency generator for our home. My research showed that their larger gasoline generators were of good quality, and would be able to plug directly into the special outlet on my main fuse box. The price was well below similar sized brand name items. AND the one I was considering was on sale for nearly $100 below it's normal price. When I arrived, there were only two cashiers at the front of the store, with a line of 7 customers patiently waiting their turn. I was not able to find any floor staff to assist me. Since generators are pretty big, I was able to locate them in the relatively small store (considering how many products they carry). I was surprised there was no literature or signage on any of these $400-700 generators. I finally found a stock person and asked if he could bring one out for me. After picking up the accessories I needed, I searched for that stock person and reminded him I needed some help. He told me it was already waiting for my by the cashiers. (How was I supposed to know that?!) My experience at the cashier however was much more pleasant. While there where still only two of them, and the line was still fairly long, the cashier was very pleasant and took her time explaining how I could best use the coupons I brought with me. And that seemingly uncaring stock person had put the 200 LB generator on a cart with a pneumatic lift that I was able to use to get it easily into the back of my SUV. (Gravity would help me get it out!) I assume, based on other reviews, that the low staffing complement is part of the plan, but a few knowledgeable sales people would have made the entire experience so much more pleasant. I came today to buy a LARGE commercial fan for our warehouse. It was not on the sales floor only kept in the back. I viewed it online and asked the associate how to purchase. She stated I go to the front of the store, stand in line, and then I can purchase the fan with the cashier. An associate brought it up to me. Interesting way to buy an expensive fan. I had a 20%coupon via the text to receive coupons. Total came to $110.00 I might give them another shot....... unless Home Depot or Lowe's has what I'm looking for. read more

So I love my home when everything works and looks great but it doesn't just happen. Sometimes I need to fix it myself or pay someone (better equipped than me). When I do try to do it myself, I may need a new toy (ok, tool). Harbor Freight has most of what I could need with better prices than the big box store (and plentiful coupons!). As I was walking around, I found a couple of items I want but this time, I actually found something I recently bought at the competition but the price was significantly less. This hurt! I still have the packaging and receipt so the other item may be making a trip back to its big box home. I wish I could pay someone else to do all of my home repairs / upgrades but this is my second choice to do it right. read more

OKAY, they (Harbor Freight Tools locations) are all basically created equal LOL! But HFT in general delivers! Relatively inexpensive and reliable tools along with many other items such as burglar alarms, tarps, trailer tires, etc. They constantly run ads with 15%-25% discount coupons and include coupons for freebies that can be used with every purchase! HFT has an on-line presence and there you can get their latest flyers, sales ads and coupons. A majority of their inventory is reliable and dependable, but like any other tool warehouse they do carry some products that are not of the highest quality or integrity. So shop wisely and use those coupons! 5 stars indeed! read more

This store has all you need at affordable prices. Employees on the other hand behave like robots, and are abrupt in their interaction with customers. They don't smile and their welcome greeting sounds so fake. They also work hard in ignoring you if you look like you need help. It is very uncomfortable to chase employees around to get some help. read more

I shop quite a bit at Harbor Freight. The only location I ever have a problem is, is at the Atlantic Ave location. The cashier Sherine gives me a hard time every time I try to return something. I don't understand. They can see I bought the items by using my phone number. She tells me that even though she can see I purchased the item if I don't have a receipt she can't take it back. At that point I have to get a manager to handle it. I don't understand why she is giving me the attitude. read more

Harbor freight is a great place to buy cheap tools, but that's it. The prices are extremely cheap on mostly every tool there. I love the large selection of tools and parts that are available. The big downside is the long lines, which are sometimes 20 people deep. I don't have the patience to wait on one cashier. You have to get really early to beat the crazy lines!! read more

This is one of those "is what it is" places. They have thousands of items for very good prices. I go there when I need something expendable or when I can't afford to drop too much money on it. So far I have purchased assorted tools, tarps, cargo straps, bungee cords, and a hitch bicycle rack. Everything is decent enough quality for what I paid. And as far as the sales help goes, I usually am fine for finding stuff on my own there, so it's never been an issue for me. read more

They told me where to get a new one and then said go to the back of the line. Totally understaffed. I was in the store yesterday 0219/18 and the check out line was 20 deep... and took at least 25-30 min to get to the register... The store was full of employees taking inventory.... but no one seemed to be interested in the time we had to wait on line to check out.. I mentioned it to the mgr.. and all I got was there are only 2 girls at the register... Cheap tools at a cheap price and a mind-boggling selection. Isles and isles of tools to choose from. The quality of the stuff here might not be the best but sometimes you just need a tool for a special one time job and these cheap tools are perfect for that. I found just what I was looking for (for a one time job) and it was perfect. I'll continue buying my better tools at Home Depot or Lowes but will visit here occasionally. read more

Was there a couple of hrs ago. When I got to the registers (23 ) people on line. Believe me, I had time to count . Two registers open. Then a third cashier mercifully comes forward and opens a register, so of course, one of the other cashiers walks off, abandoning her post and all of us on line. She never returned. Old fashioned registers delay each transaction because they are printing line-type, like from the 80's. I have been coming to this place for years a never thought to leave a review. The tools here are cheaply priced and you know what that means. I have had great luck here and I have also had terrible luck with my tools breaking. This is a good place to get tools just to get the job done. My compressor from here is over 12 years old still running. I bought a socket set around the same time and only have a few sockets left due to the walls of the sockets breaking. The zip ties break easy. The tarps and bungees are great from here. I also hate how a lot of things they advertise in there paper they don't have and say "just do an online order and ship it to your house" who wants to ship a 3 ton floor jack to their home I like my UPS driver I don't want to break his back. Why not just carry what you have on sale simple solution to me. And no they don't run out they just don't have it. Long register lines like around the store long no exaggeration here. And getting help in the store is like pulling teeth not because they don't want to help you but because every associate is on the register only 1-2 are left on the floor to help customers. This is anytime of day I mean any. Short and long of it they need more employees in the store. When I do get help they always go above and beyond. Also don't forget your coupons when you go and it's not cause the employees don't want to help but there are so many coupons that are emailed and club pricing coupons yes same product might have 3 different coupon prices at the same time. People who work at store have no common sense and are inflexible when it comes to customer service. Try to exchange part of something that you spent time putting together because of hidden damages and they just try to think of reasons they can't even though what your trying to exchange came in totally separate box.
