    Very friendly and attentive service. Fixed broken glasses, of my own fault multiple times with a smile. Would highly recommend.

November 2023 I ordered and paid $288 for contact lenses, November 2024, multiple follow ups.. no lenses, no reply.. May 2025.. no lenses(18 months later). At this stage, they were not returning my calls / messages. I wrote an online review. They contacted me and said 'that they could not find where I paid for them'. I have the receipt. I understand events happen. However this is no way to run a business. From online reviews this ordering / disorganized record keeping appears to be a recurring issue.

I have worn glasses since 1984 and thought when my Eye Doctor, Dr. Erdman in Exeter retired I would never find decent eyecare again. It was years of floundering around but I found two - Dr Turner out of Exeter Eyesight and Barry at Stratham Eyecare. There was an abnormality caught by Dr. Turner that had never been mentioned before and was never mentioned again until I saw Barry. I was referred for further testing by Turner and it ended up being ok.. My insurance changed as they do and I couldn't see Dr Turner any more. I floundered some more until I found Stratham Eye with Barry and Sue. I read the complaints and those people need to go to , I don't know, a place like pearl vision - In and out in 15 min- $1000.00 later and glasses that are not usable - I found Barry and Sue over three years ago. Barry saw the spots that Dr Turner had seen, Imagine that ? He was thorough and took his time. He didn't rush me in and out in 15 min and took the time to answer all my questions. The spots! he saw the spots that 4 or 5 Dr's after Dr Turner had missed. Why? Because he is GREAT at what he does! and cares about making sure I scan see the best I can possibly see. I have never had such a thorough exam. I felt really taken care of and felt a confidence in my provider that I had not felt in a long time. Then we came to Sue- She didn't rush me either. I am not an easy case and once I finally came to a decision on my frames she does what she does, and executes it perfectly. Precision measurements and I was finally able to wear progressive lenses and love them. They changed my life! I couldn't wear them before. Why? Because They were made incorrectly because I was measured incorrectly because I was rushed time and time again. Barry and Sue care and are great at what they do. I have never minded any Dr that runs a little late. Why? Because they are taking the time that their patient needs. Eye care like health care is not one size fits all. People that like conveyer belt health care, eyecare, dentistry- go get your 15 min visits. I will stick with Quality and people who truly care about my end result. They were loved by the community and their customer care was impeccable. Tommy could deal with anyone... even a few crabby dissatisfied customers but he was ALWAYS able to work with EVERYONE and he always took the high road. These reviews were well earned by HIM. The establishment was bought out by Christina and Enrico Palmerino several years ago now. They also own several other local Optical shops.. one is in Brooklyn New York. Since they took over in Newburyport the new business has received only 4 yelp reviews... 2 (5) star reviews and 2 (1) star reviews. Where I am from this is a significant red flag showing that this business needs improvement. It is also sad that Chrisina and Enrico did not wipe out Tommy's reviews because he and Dianne and several other employees worked very hard for those reviews! They should not be inherited they should be earned! My experience with the new owners has been rocky and unpleasant. The acting manager Clark Goodwin is a big part of the problem here at this business. Clark is moody, dismissive and he talks down to good customers. I returned 2 pairs of high end glasses three years ago and he was livid with me and he behaved unprofessionally towards me. Clark Goodwin sadly is the antithesis of what Tommy Collins was! I want to warn ALL of my disabled veteran friends , my healthcare friends ( retired RN here) and all the wonderful seniors in the area to take your business somewhere else. This company has no heart... they are a family of millionaires who could care less about customers and providing quality services to the residents of Newburyport. I really miss Tom Collins and his staff ... I just wish that Tom had screened the new owners more carefully. Buyer beware... this establishment is a greedy wolf in sheep's clothing. Do NOT trust Clark Goodwin with your money or your time. He should get out of the eye wear profession and maybe consider a new career in the Dept of Corrections. The prisons need employees with lousy dispositions like Clark. Good Riddance Market Unfair Optical! I cannot wait until the day that I drive by that shop and a new shop is there -one that actually cares about eye care and about HELPING customers in downtown Newburyport !

Oh, and I got my glasses the same day! Save yourself the frustration and high prices of Lenscrafters or other places and go here.

    Lets just say ive had several problems here ...Sandy runs the show…read moreand shes all bussiness if they make a mistake they do fix it but they make a lot.. Sandy makes a lot of communication mistakes...gets things mixed up ... i had to get new lenses due to the doctors flub up.. Sandy never communicated this to me for months..i went told half hour the man comes out and hands me the glasses all set goodbye .. no sitting down checking to make sure all was up to snuff ect... just so long..customer service??ive experienced several snaffoos here that shouldnt have happened going to get my new glasses a young girl brought them out for fitting ect..i told her what i needed and she paniced with deer inthe headlights and ran off so Sandy came and adjusted..they are ok i would say give them a chance but dont be surprised by a lot of errors i think ill pass on them next time... but good luck...by the way when I noticed the doctor gave me the wrong reading strength I went to tell Sandy and she checked yes yes not strong enough let me call the doctor I went back a week later to find out she was like huh? Is there a problem..no clue..then she calls months later asking when I was gonna come get the new lenses put in which was never communicated to me..she did aplogogize..but....
