Over the years we've became friendly. She'd tell me about her summers in Greece, very nice lady. One day she said: Peace out, Opa! Never to be seen again. My wife said, try Ingrid's. Who?? The place by the place, you pass it every day. Sure enough, I pass it every day! I walk into the small store. I'm greeted by, I'm not sure if its Ingrid? I say I have a pair of Jeans that I'd like altered. Not a problem and I'm shown to the dressing room. The jeans are marked and I'm told they'll be ready in a few days. I stopped by today and the jeans are ready for pick up. $25 bucks for the alternation, I brought cash. Easy transaction and I'm on my way. I just tried on the jeans, the length is correct and I'm a happy guy. Ingrid, it may be old school up in here but I'm old school! I'll be back the next time I need alterations.

They cut off the front and put a loop on the back to attach to the button that was already on the dress. The sides of the dress were 12" on the floor on each side and the middle was dragging even looped on the highest button. There was absolutely no attempt at design or craftsmanship. We also asked to put breast pads in front and they sewed these size DD ones onto the small ones that were already there; we had to remove them ourselves. We now had 2 pairs of pads and they went down to the bride's ribs. Something is wrong there. A bustle, breast pads, and a hem on a dress are standard everyday requests. I hope this review saves a few brides from disaster!

If you need something tailored and you want it done right, there is no place to go except Old Field Tailor Shop. I ordered (3) custom made Italian shirts a few years ago from Rocco and are still in great shape today. My wife had a dress that needed to be hemmed and the workmanship that was performed on her dress is a lost art. Go in and see Rocco for your tailor needs, he's the best!

This is a little pricier than what I paid in the Bay Area for hemming but much cheaper than what I paid for waist alterations (which is trickier than it sounds when your waist is much smaller than your hips). I made it very clear how important this dress was to me, as I planned to wear it for my own wedding. It is now September 29th, just two weeks before my wedding, and the dress is unwearable. The bodice does not fit, and the skirt is not pleated, nor does it fall properly over the underskirt. Instead of restoring my grandmother's dress, Slubia left me with something I cannot wear on one of the most important days of my life. I don't know if the issue was lack of time, lack of skill, or lack of care, but the result is the same: I am left without my grandmother's dress two weeks before my wedding day. This experience has been heartbreaking, and I would caution anyone who is considering trusting her with a sentimental or important garment.

I took them to Village Cleaners as this place is so close to home. It cost $15 for the two skirts (a tan colored one that is knee-length and a black one that is longer) and I brought them on a Wednesday and they were ready on Saturday. A faint spot on the tan colored one came out with the dry cleaning and the excessive white dog hair on the black one was completely eliminated.
