I'm 81 years old, living with poor health, and I made sure to inform Dr Crocker about my challenges, including Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), which makes it hard for me to follow directions or conversations. My health conditions include multiple sclerosis (MS), chronic back pain, and heart failure, all of which make everyday situations more challenging. Unfortunately, my appointment turned into a nightmare. Due to my health issues, I asked to remain seated in a chair until the dentist arrived. After receiving a numbing shot, I waited over an hour for him to see me. As my pain levels steadily increased, I noticed he seemed upset and even blamed me for his running behind schedule. Despite my confusion, I told him I was willing to wait as long as necessary. At some point, I asked a fair question: if he was so behind schedule, why spend so much time blaming me when I had already agreed to wait? That's when he revealed his real concern: I learned later he was going to be late picking up his daughter. I explained that I was already numb and preferred to proceed with the treatment, but this only seemed to frustrate him more. He abruptly stormed out of the room, declaring the appointment over and instructing me to leave. Feeling confused and hurt, I asked a nurse to help mediate. I said we weren't understanding each other, and surely, as adults, we could work it out. Still, the dentist refused to return. I remained calm, never raised my voice or acted disrespectfully; I only asked for clarification about why he had decided to stop the treatment when it had already begun. His response was to have the police escort me out. The stress of the situation, combined with my heart condition, ultimately landed me in the ER. I prayed for him to reconsider and find a compromise, but instead, he blamed me for making him late to pick up his daughter. I reminded him that this was his issue, not mine. He had the power to dismiss me as a patient, but his actions became an ethical dilemma. I noticed that he continued treating other, healthier patients without issue and only forced me to leave--an 81-year-old with significant health challenges. To me, his motives weren't pure. He used his authority to bully a vulnerable patient instead of treating the situation with compassion and professionalism. I was willing to compromise, but he insisted I couldn't make him treat me. He was right about that--I couldn't force him to do anything. But I left without understanding what I had done wrong. This was an ethical failure. A dentist who chooses to work with elderly patients or individuals with disabilities has a responsibility to treat them with dignity and care. My time and health were of no concern to him. His priority was elsewhere, and his dismissal of me felt less about scheduling and more about the power he held. While I could have simply walked away, I believe he must be held accountable for his actions. He got flustered when I continued to tell him I didn't understand and I would wait the extra time . What a terrible situation for all including his staff who had more compassion than he did.

So I always ask others who live in the area what dentist they recommend and elite smiles off course came highly recommended. Staff here were friendly but the highlight for me was my hygienist Andrea- literally felt like we were besties we talked the entire time, my dentist visit felt like it went so fast but I had a good deep cleaning with X-rays lasting an hour. Once the dentist came in too super friendly, I booked my six month out appointment for my next cleaning as well due to this amazing experience. I will say so many people have jobs because they pay the bills but Andrea really was passionate about her work, keeping me comfortable the entire time and was so friendly.

They told me we need extra dental work and all I had to pay was $19.00 out of pocket. Well, since they cancelled my appointment due to being short staffed and it went into another calendar year. Then insurance would not pay and I was left with a bill that was not what I agreed too. They never answer the phone and have a lot of turnover with the staff. They charged me $50 on top of my insurance that would typically cover an entire appt (I didn't even SEE the dentist), saying it was a "special" cleaning (there was nothing special about it, and I have clean teeth!), and told me I needed to come back another day to "finish the appointment." My hour time slot wasn't even over. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

First of all their office is in an old building…read morebasement that REAKS of mold which is why they have an air purifier to try to mask the smell (which does not eliminate the problem) which is a major long term health hazard. Second the office manager is rude, condescending, aloof and dismissive. Third I had made the appointment with Dr Ruggiero to go over a dental situation that several dentists were at odds over treating vs not treating and I was simply there to get his opinion. I had given him/his office all the information ahead of time AND brought it with me, but they still weren't prepared and Dr. Ruggiero blew it off stating that he would look at the things I sent after I left! The whole point in me sending them was so that he could view them and then look at my mouth to compare! The first frustration was the fact that Dr Reggerio was late for our appointment which he then rushed through telling me he didn't have much time to talk to me even though HIS tardiness cut into our appointment time! The only call I received from their office after that visit (for a separate issue) was to ask if I was going to allow them to make me a mouthguard which was astronomically expensive compared to other practices and when I said I couldn't afford it (because I don't have health insurance and had just lost everything everything in a flood which they also knew about ) I got dismissed! They completely ignored the most important time sensitive reason I was there for a potential tooth abcess that another doctor stated had spread into my sinus cavity and could kill me if it wasn't removed immediately yet nothing about that at all! Fast-forward almost a year later I get a notification from a collection agency that I owe them $420! No itemization of the bill whatsoever just $420 after spending under 20 minutes in his office with no clear direction on what to do about my potential tooth abscess which was the most important reason why I was there! I called the office to speak to the office manager about the collection threat and she was extremely rude, condescending, aloof and dismissive stating that "the doctor had to speak with another doctor about my case for 3 OR 4 hours"! First of all it's one or the other not "OR"! Second of all I know this to be a FALSE statement because I know the doctor he spoke with BRIEFLY very well, and the conversation did NOT last HOURS, it was MINUTES and he took that upon himself to do without having any discussion with me about pricing ahead of time. When I calmly tried to address all of this including the collection notice with the manager, she completely ignored the facts and continued to lie about the charges and then hung up on me after stating fight it with the collection agency when they were the ones that sent it to them in the first place and had the authority to withdraw it knowing full well they are being dishonest about the charges! If they do not resolve these charges, I will take them to small claims court and gladly pay the $75 fee because no judge will award them the rest of the money knowing it was a fabrication of time and bogus charges which I will have proof and witnesses for. I would definitely not go to this practice because A. You will put your health at risk and B. will get treated unfairly/rudely and C. they will greedily exaggerate the bogus charges, ghost you then threaten you with collections!
