Dr. Christopher Collins at this practice performed a pulpectomy (removal of a tooth nerve) on my…read moredaughter this morning before the lidocaine he injected had adequate time to numb her. Approximately 30 seconds elapsed between completion of the lidocaine injection and the start of his drilling on that tooth. He didn't even stop to check if she was numb, just finished the injection, put the bit in the drill, and went to town. She screamed at the top of her lungs in the highest pitch she could manage (did I mention she is only 4 years old?) and he never batted an eyelash. Never spoke to her except to give her instructions ("open wide", "Don't spit that bite block out"). Our vet treats dogs better than this dentist treated my daughter. Please don't take your children here. Please please please.

I am not one who fears my trips to the dentist at all, but this practice could cure anyone who is. No lie, I look forward to going each time and it's not just for the free toothbrush/floss/travel size Colgate at the end of the visit. But, I do like that, too. Who doesn't love a tiny pack of floss for their purse? I digress... The entire staff makes you comfortable as soon as you walk in the door. My trips should be awful because I have had gum issues for years. But, Ashley and I worked on a plan to get my oral health back on track. Dr. Orman helped, too, of course. I mean, the whole office rocks, but Ashley? She was incredibly helpful by recommending products that I could use outside of my office visits to help improve my "you got some bad gums/build-up and bone loss" situation. That means I could be losing teeth and getting partials or (gasp!) dentures if I don't get my act together. Dentures? Ewwww, no. I am far too vain for that. So, today? Ashley's investment in me as a patient and my dedication (floss, people, for the love of all things holy, FLOSS!) has me back on track. It's been a journey, but I will still be eating corn on the cob in the future with my own choppers and not worrying about where "I put my teeth," when company comes over. How embarrassing, right? And, FYI, if you have gum issues and don't take care of them? Just go ahead and prepare for dentures. Or, better idea: Go see the folks at this practice; do not wait any longer. They aren't super fancy, but they are super fantastic.

She never told me I have to pay my balance in full. I went in on the day of my appointment waited in lobby for 20 mins before I got called over to make my payment. I told the receptionist I can make the payments whatever the insurance send me and whatever is left for my portion I have to make payments. They told me I can't do that and they have stop long time ago. How is long time ago when I just went there 3 months ago and I still be able to make payments on my balance. So I have to pay my balance in full before they can do my service. I feel like they just want money and don't care about their patients.

The only plausible explanation would be legal liability - perhaps they were advised not to disclose this info by the ADA, biz advisors, lobbyists, lawyers & insurance companies. I hope I'm wrong, as I feel an empowered, well informed patient is a happy long-term *paying* patient.
