Not much to say about this place..... fries are.... well taste bagged lol really don't know how to explain it. They need some SPICES please for the love of god spice that s$it up! The chicken tenders taste like they came from a bowling alley, no ... I'm being serious, Eastland Bowling. Go and try the tenders and tell me there not the same! I placed an order on 11/23/22 at 11 am for a 1230 delivery. I finally called at 1238 and was on hold for over 8 minutes. Hung up and called back. Talked to an employee. They could not find the order but they remembered the order. They had voided the order. Had to start all over with the order and another payment. The original order was 37.00 then we added a 6 dollar tip. When I placed the second order it came to 44.00 with out a tip and was told not to worry about tipping. I am very upset with this. We had to wait another 30 minutes to get his order and now our lunch time is over. Very displeased customer. read more

Read the other previous reviews and base your decision from there. I've ordered somewhere in the area of 5-7 times. I should have stopped at one. I guess I wanted to give them a thorough chance to surprise me or at least come near my expectations. I haven't ever been inside of Happys so I won't comment there. The delivery has always been good. Polite drivers doing exactly what you would expect. The food. Here in lies the problem. I've ordered everything from pizza to rib tips to the perch and chicken tenders. More often than not they have forgot my requested sauce or sent the wrong one. The Cajun perch is ok. Nothing fancy but not terrible either. What you would expect from a pizza joint. Worth trying. The chicken strips. Let's just say you're better off eating dirt. Absolute garbage in every way. The breading is hard as a rock, there's too much of it and on top of that the last time I ordered a 3 piece I got two full pieces and a piece about 1 inch long. Not even kidding. Don't order these. Rib tips are mediocre at best. Again like the perch not terrible but nothing above a 4 on the 10 scale. Sauce is plentiful but tastes shelf bought. Tips are hit and miss, some meaty some just bone. Err on the side of caution with this dish. Fries. If you like soft oven baked fries strewed about your box then dive right in. Otherwise tell them to feed them to the animals. Probably the worst fries I've had the displeasure of eating. Don't order these. Garlic bread. Always soggy, of course they have to match the fries. Chewy, bland, it hits the trash as soon as the box is opened. Give this one to a friend and watch him choke it down. No one likes coleslaw. Enough said The pizza probably won't wow you unless you've had Little Ceasars for the last 23 years straight. It's a basic run of the mill pie and being I enjoy a well put together zza it's going to hover at the 3-4 mark on the 10 scale for me as well. To conclude, I'll say I've given this place a real solid chance and tried several dishes they offer in an attempt to have a solid alternative place that delivers to my work. Let's be honest. I was running out of places to review in Kalamazoo so when I saw a Groupon for Happy's I figuratively jumped at the chance to buy it. I'm glad I did. I think this pizza ranks pretty highly for me. Did you ever wonder what those little grease cup pepperonis were called that you occasionally had on pizzas as a child when your parents would order from a place you usually didn't order pizza from or when you went out to a pizzeria? They are called Old World Pepperoni and I recommend that you pay the upcharge to have them on your pizza. I also ordered a meal combo so I could sample some of the other items on the rather large menu. I thought the catfish nuggets and popcorn shrimp were both very good. Overall, the food is exactly what I expected from a place that sells not only pizza, but subs, and seafood, and ribs, and burgers, and sandwiches, and wings, and chicken. This is nothing fancy or gourmet. It may not be the best you've ever had. But it's pretty darn good. read more

I wasn't surprised to see the overall rating for this restaurant is so low. I ordered a pizza and two kinds of wings a few weeks ago. When I got home I discovered the pizza had pepperoni on it instead of sausage. I ordered buffalo wings but received some other flavor I didn't like. I called to let them know the order was wrong and was told I would have a credit for the next time I ordered. Tonight I called to order pizza and wings. I was told there was only a credit for the pizza. I stated that I should have a credit for the wings, too, as my whole order had been made incorrectly. I asked if I could speak with a manager. The man on the phone stated his name was Gabe and he is the manager. He refused to give me an order of wings and clearly had no interest in making up for the previous mistakes. I told him I thought that was poor customer service as I had been promised a credit for my entire order. At this time he stated, "you're rude. I'm not going to make a pizza for you." If I had been yelling and using profanity I would think that would be a justifiable statement. I wasn't speaking to him in that manner. I was upset, understandably, and not nice at that point because his customer service skills were unacceptable. He told me to "call corporate." I told him I would be leaving a negative review and he stated, "go ahead." Obviously I will never spend money in this establishment again. Tried to order from them a couple of days ago for delivery. They told me that they don't deliver to where I live even though they had my address on file and I've received delivery from them before. The worst thing I ever had it. Its not a food it's garbage chicken not clean dirty frying oil. I lost my money

So i was hungry this past week and decided to give this place a shot. I called in an order for a whole slab meal, and a deluxe cheezburger meal. (I figured I'd just stash some of the food in my fridge for the next night.) It came to about thirty bucks for the whole bill, and the food was delivered promptly. But there was a problem with the order- apparently, the delivery guy had forgotten to grab the cheezburger meal. (-1 star for that.) On his return trip, he went and brought the cheezburger meal, but when I unwrapped it after getting it... it was a regular hamburger with everything (I'd ordered no mayo, no tomato, no onion.) Not even a free 2-liter of pop could salvage that. (-1 star for screwing up an order.) In the end, I guess that the food's average, but the service is just learning. It might go up and might go down, depends on if they can get thier act together. read more

I had this place for delivery, so there is not check in, but here it goes. Let me just say this first! I have read the reviews that are on here about this place. You have to treat this place for what it is. A pizza place. Get the pizza. If your trying things that you wouldn't see at a Pizza Place, you are doomed for disappointment. With that said, the deliver was quick and pizza. The pizza was good. I got there Cajun fries. Now, you can see the issue. Cajun fries are good when you put the fries in the bowl and as you are putting in the seasoning. I am pretty sure just by taste alone, they put the fries in the basket and dumped the spice on them. All in all, I may order the pizza again. It was pretty good. If you want a good chicken dinner, go to a place that does chicken. read more

I ordered a med. pizza w/ham and pineapple for a friend, and I went with the full slab of ribs, w/fries, and a large coleslaw, and for dessert, the large brownie! First off, ordering online was extremely easy and user-friendly. They told me my order would be ready in 20 minutes and pretty much right on the nose, it was ready for pick up. The staff was very friendly, quick, and kind. They had run out of root beer, but offered me a suitable replacement. My problems started once I got the food home. The ribs were really, really tough, very difficult to cut and chew. The sauce is not to my taste at all... perhaps others may like it, but it wasn't tangy, it wasn't, spicy, it wasn't on the sweet side... it seemed to be all vinegar. However, as I said, others may love it. The fries were very good. The coleslaw was quite bland. The brownie was very good! My friend very much liked her pizza and would order again. My mom lives in a senior center right by Happy's, so of course she wanted to go there for lunch when I was in from out of town. We walked in and mulled over the menu, and she told me to order her a pizza when she walked off. The guy at the counter asked about the crust, then motioned to my mom. "Is it for her? Then butter parmesan." This is how I found out my mom is a regular at Happy's. Okay, well it's gotta be decent, right? We brought it back and I was very happy with my pizza sub, and her pizza looked great. So then it's time for dinner, and I figure out we won't be able to go very far. Ummm.. does Happy's have salads? They certainly do. So we placed an order over the phone and I got salad and cheesecake. Picked it up and it was exactly what I expected. Cheesecake probably came frozen and in bulk but who cares, it was great. I had a different cashier for dinner but still a positive experience. This is apparently THE hip place for senior citizens. I thought the pizza and the sub and the salad and the cheesecake were pretty solid, nothing mind blowing but all were pretty tasty. If anyone has terrible service here, maybe you just need to go with my mom.. she revealed to me that they love her there because she calls after her meal and tells them how good it was. The ribs were gross, the sauce was sweet and had wayyyyy too much on them. the pizza was good, i had the deep dish pizza it was on sale for like $7.99! A TOTAL + ! But it wasnt very big either! To start out I already review this place on Google. Second the owner tried to claim I used a stolen card. Third I work for the county and find it offensive he accused me of stealing. So here's my story. Last night my girlfriend stopped by happy's pizza to pick up a cheese pizza to stay in for the night. when she handed her card over to pay the girl, who had fake nails extending 2-3 inches off the tips, the girl swipe the card like it was a race to test the machine. instead of waiting for the transaction to process she swipe the card again, then a third time. each time the girl said that the transaction was declined. my girlfriend checked the account balance and saw that there wasn't an issue. the girl typed in the card information and again it was declined. my girlfriend used the card less than an hour before at redbox and another store with no issues. the girl had an attitude about the card not working and tossed the pizza in the trash in front of her before saying sorry with a condescending tone. the next morning my girlfriend called her bank and they said the account was frozen due to cashier error, trying to run the card four times without letting the processing finish. my girlfriend called Happy's pizza to let them know and the same girl was working this morning and blamed the card for the error. if shes such and expert at running cards and credit why is she working behind a counter in a ghetto pizza hut? needless to say the service is lacking and even when you let them know what they are doing wrong, which only loses them money, they get defensive and argue with the customer losing more business in the end. I won't be going there ever again for two reasons: 1 poor service and 2 how does that girl wipe her ass with nails like that? i hope she doesn't handle the food. not up to code, i know i was a line cook in college. read more

I usually love this place. But the girl that took my order, I think her name was Alex, was extremely rude. Low customer service skills! I understand the store is busy at times, but rushing people like they are an inconvenience to you, when its your job to serve (customer service)is completely rude and uncalled for. I tried to explain to her that I had issues with my order last night, but she hung up in my face. I called back and reminded her that she rushed me and I wasn't finished, she didn't even apologize, just responded, "well what did you need?" My mushrooms were soggy not crunchy, and my cheese fries had a clump of cold cheese in the middle of the fries. When I told her to make sure this please don't happen again she responded, "ok sure." The food is somewhat pricey and very average maybe even slightly below average but if you want chicken strips, don't want to go to a restaurant and don't mind spending a bit more then you should it's not a terrible option. I'd stay away from the popcorn shrimp and the hand battered shrimp aren't bad but more expensive then most sit down restaurants. read more

I usually order the chili cheese fries. I decided to order the rip tip dinner and they were so fatty! I didn't have much meet on the tip at all just FAT! I called back before I picked up my order to see if they could give more fries instead of coleslaw. Didn't get more fries and got the slaw. Ordered a large pepperoni pizza and cheesy bread, had a coupon for 13.99. Nicole was the name of the girl who answered the phone. She seemed very rushed and was extremely rude. She charged us 12.52 but I didn't think anything of it. We got our delivery in good time (maybe 20 minutes) but only got the pizza. The delivery guy (Phillip) was nice but called and said the ETA was 5 minutes and it took him 10-15. After waiting 1:15 I called the restaurant and was immediately put on hold. After waiting ten minutes I hung up and called back, was put right back on hold without having a chance to say anything and waited another five minutes on hold. Called back and finally was able to talk to someone. I asked about the status of my order and gave my address. Was told it left twenty minutes ago and should be there soon and hurried off the phone. Pizza finally arrived after 1:40. Pizza was not even moderately warm. Already started looking like it was sitting overnight. Will NOT be ordering from them again. This place is terrible! There is an app available for your phone called EatStreet, it gives you local restaurants and whether they deliver to your address or not. Happy pizza is exactly 4.9 miles away and shows up as delivery available. It even allows you to place your order so I placed my order on the app and promptly received a call that they don't deliver to my area.... Uhm so what do they only do a 1 mile delivery radius? So the manager agrees to deliver our food, after arguing with my boyfriend who told him they had delivered here at least 5 times in the past 4 months, then the manager hangs up on him! So i placed an order on the Eatstreet app and the app said they deliver. When we placed the order we recieved a call from the manager. He said that it was outside there range of delivery. I said to him, i have ordered here before. He arguered with me and then he placed the order and then hung up. Mind you the store if five miles from our address. Ordered online and accidentally submitted it as delivery instead of pickup. Called to say "Hey, I accidentally submitted an order for delivery, can I change it to pickup, or is it too late?" Was told "yea we can change it to pickup, you'll get the delivery fee refunded" then was hung up on. Had no assurance that this guy even knew who he was talking to or if he knew what order it was. I immediately called back to ask if he knew what order I asked about and to tell them I was hung up on. He obviously could tell by phone number because he quickly rattled off my order, restated that the delivery fee would be refunded, did not apologize for hanging up on me, then proceeded to hang up on me again. When I went to pick up the food I told the person at the counter that I wanted to inspect the food because whoever I spoke to on the phone was rude to me. The person at the counter said "yea, that was me" then continued answering the phone. Still no apology, still rude. Got back home, looked at the receipt, had a delivery change. Called back, and got a short explanation of having to wait 3-5 business days which is fine and would have taken 2 seconds to explain prior. We regularly order from Happy's Pizza and each time we're more than satisfied with the food. Delivery is fast. One thing I will say is the mild sauce is SUPER hot, unless you like hot food then it's fine. I've ordered mild sauce from there twice now and each time it was super hot. I've never been in the store and only do delivery. This review is mainly for delivery which is exceptional. read more
