More towards the staff. Was welcoming when we came in. But felt like we was being watched after browsing around for a couple minutes. What a great little treasure in an area of nothing! I almost ran off the road when I saw this place this weekend. I just made a trip to Guadalupe Mountain and needed some small nick nack gear before I left, unfortunately I did not come here. I searched "outfitters" so this place did not come up. I was not surprised that a town like San Angelo would be missing such a niche shop, so you can imagine my delightful surprise when I saw this... AFTER it was closed for the day! 2 long days later I finally made it to the store (closed on Sundays) I was so nervous I would walk in and it would be a place for the trendy hiker-chic kids to buy their Chacos and Patagonia jackets and no real gear, as this tends to be a reoccurring problem lately. NOPE!! Not only do they appeal to apparel shoppers but also have a very good selection of gear. Although don't expect to find any climbing gear here. The store has a great balance of clothing store and outfitter with a knowledgeable helpful staff. I got a weird look when I first walked in but that's not uncommon when I'm in my uniform (blue camo throws people off, especially in an Air force town) I would recommend this to anyone, its obviously no REI but if you want a walmart of backpacking then make the drive to Dallas but you'll miss out on the customer service almost guaranteed. read more

Awesome store if you are looking for great comfort shoes, outdoor shoes and other outdoor stuff. They carry brands you can only find online or in larger cities. I heard about this store from one on my patients today and had to check it out. They carry Keen shoes and I had to buy a pair for my poor aching feet! Love them! Instant foot comfort no braking in period needed! They also carry Vibram shoes. Heard about these from an orthopedic doctor and surgery tech. Owner is Garrett Baker. Awesome store. So happy this is in town. I really hope they get into the kayak sales. The owner is really helpful and a nice guy. It is rare that you have someone ask your name, and introduce themselves to you. You can tell they appreciate your business. I will not be ordering any of these items online in the future, even if I can save money. I would rather support this business and or local economy. As far as I could tell, the prices were about the same as online, and I could walk out that day with it, and actually hold it first. Very nice. Found this store while searching for Hobie Kayak dealers online. Having moved to the San Angelo Area 6 months ago, I was unaware it existed. I visited the store yesterday and again today I found the staff very knowledgeable of their products and they went above and beyond to assist me with locating clothing to fit. They searched thier suppliers online and even called them to try to assist me. They were very friendly and helpful. They carry quality merchandise and the manager, Garrett is super friendly and a sharp guy that knows his products. It was a breathe of fresh air to deal with all employees.
