If you are looking for the absolute WORST sushi experience in the entire Treasure Valley,…read morecongratulations, you found it. I have never dealt with such atrocious service & their Sushi was subpar at best & that's being generous. Right out of the gate, it was a total disaster. The waitress brought absolutely nothing to the table--no utensils, no ginger, no wasabi, nothing. You know, the standard basics that literally every other sushi joint on the planet drops off on autopilot? We had to literally request every single item just to physically eat our meal. Then came the food--or whatever you want to call it. I specifically asked if I could swap tuna for yellowtail and asked about getting what I actually liked instead of just settling for "chef's choice." They completely ignored me & brought the exact opposite of what I ordered. Nothing we got was correct. My guest ordered a lobster and fish roll, and they handed her a plate of literal, unidentifiable mush. There were no actual pieces of fish or lobster to be found anywhere in it. Just mush. And the scam they pulled with the ikura was unbelievable. I ordered two portions, which is supposed to be four pieces total, which again is commonly standard at any other Sushi restaurant. Instead, they brought out two pieces. When I pointed it out, the manager actually came over to our table to argue with me, insisting I was going to be charged full price for half the food. Literally $5ea for 1 piece of Sashimi that tasted like shit. Outside of the painfully incompetent service and the manager's garbage attitude, the fish had no flavor, They didn't even bring out all the food we ordered, but we were so fed up and disgusted by that point that we just paid the bill and walked out. I don't know if this is how they run their business every single day, but it was bad enough to warrant this warning. There are plenty of incredible sushi spots around here. Do not waste your time or your money at this absolute trainwreck of a restaurant. I guarantee I will never step foot in this place again.

I come here several times per year because I love the vibe, chefs, service and food. Reservations are a must if you want timely seating and less wait...and ensure your entire party is with you prior to your reservation time. My most recent visit was to celebrate my birthday, though I didn't tell them that for fear of the extra attention. I know some people love that, but it's not my thing. Our service was incredible from start to finish...prompt and expertly timed food drop-off, pick-up and drink refills. We started with the Gyoza. The Gyoza was fresh, hearty and steamed with those amazing crispy brown seams. The sauce was delicious as well. Those were gone in maybe 3 minutes. Next came the miso soup, which was a slightly seasoned broth soup. A nice compliment to the salad, drizzled with a thousand island-like dressing and crisp lettuce. Next our hibachi chef Herman appeared with our cart full of meats, veggies and eggs. He crafted the most fun, hilarious and DELICIOUS meal I've ever had there. I ordered the chicken and shrimp, hubby had the chicken and filet. The steak was cooked medium rare and nicely seasoned. Each piece of chicken or shrimp was seasoned, sauced and buttered to perfectly plump. The fried rice was delicious! Literally, every bite of rice, meat and veggies just sang. We couldn't stop raving about our experience and I was actually sad to see Herman leave instead of sitting down to join us.

I come on special occasions and it's been a favorite with those not familiar with asian cuisine. Plenty of vegetable, fruits, seafood, meats and desserts available to pick from. You start with choosing your broth and ordering sides/drinks. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are, Plenty of seating for everyone. Recently it seems Umi has been closed temporarily multiple times. Hoping they can figure out hours soon so I can return. The overall vibe of the place is very moody but not crazy dark, pricing is on the mid to high end for dinner but the meat choices are worth it.

The restaurant itself was nice as well, and for 5-6 rolls, it wasn't too expensive at all! Our only issue was that we were told we'd be sat, finally got seated...and then waited a long time. We had our toddler with us and waited 30-40 mins for someone to notice us and take our order. We had to start taking turns going outside with our baby because we had waited for so long. We thought maybe other tables were also waiting equally as long, until one of the waitresses came by and asked if we had been helped and was shocked to find out no one had taken our order. I wish I had gotten her name, as she was super friendly, and comped our first two drinks due to the long wait. She's the reason for the 4 stars, otherwise I think the wait would've lowered it to 3 stars. However, that being said, if we were back in Treasure Valley, we'd go here again for the sushi (hopefully with less wait this time).

And honestly? We keep coming back. I know everyone compares it to Ahi because there really aren't that many sushi places in Eagle, but they fill different moods for us. Ahi feels more like somewhere you go for a quieter dinner or work conversation. Glory is where we go when we want an easy 45-minute lunch without making it a whole event. Their lunch bento boxes are super affordable, portions are solid, and we've never had trouble getting seated quickly. It's casual, low-pressure, and easy to pop into in the middle of the day. No long wait, no complicated parking situation, no "do we need a reservation?" discussion. We've gone quite a few times now and it's become one of those reliable local spots when you just want a quick sushi lunch that doesn't destroy your budget. For Eagle especially, that alone makes it worth supporting.
