We spent the day on the river and trails, with a delicious end of the day meal at the Happy Teriyaki restaurant off of River shore lane. The service is great. The portions of the bowls and plates are perfect. I would personally just get a teriyaki bowl, which is the right amount of food for me. Vegetarian or vegan options are available. We live in Star. We came into Eagle to go to the movies and stopped here afterwards for dinner. Located in a nice shopping center on Rivershore off Eagle, It is on the corner next to Kingfisher Sushi and a boutique, in the same complex as the Chocolot Bar. It has plain indoor table seating and there is a nice outdoor seating area in the center of the complex. The young woman taking our order was very nice and helpful. My wife had the prawns, chicken, fried rice, and vegetables. I had the teriyaki chicken with brown rice (they charge extra for that) and vegetables. The "vegetables" consist of a few pieces of broccoli and a whole lotta cabbage, which I passed on. My wife said that the fried rice was not really fried but steamed rice with some egg and veggies in it. The shrimp and chicken were cooked well and tasty. Expect to pay $12-14 for your entree, add a $1.50 if you want fried or brown rice. I'm glad we tried Happy Teriyaki, but I don't think we'll be back. read more

I love Teriyaki chicken and my expectations were high when I happened upon Happy Teriyaki on Eagle Rd. I did take-out, (for a first-timer, I regret that decision). The food was nice and hot and there was a lot of it in the to-go box. When I got home, I was shocked to see such a large quantity of chicken! That is where this experience turned ugly. I had two bites of chicken and some of the rice, the rest ended up in the trash! The chicken was over-seasoned with some type of 'sauce' that didn't taste like teriyaki. I'm not sure if it's the simple yet promising title or the cute lil logo but it appealed to me. So huge shoutout to a good friend who suggested we meet here for lunch. My order was simple - just the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki bowl with brown rice and steamed veggies ($9.95). We didn't wait long at all, and the food came out fresh and HOT. My bowl did benefit from a few drops of Sriracha but other than that I didn't need to modify it at all. The steamed veggies were fresh and salted just right. My brown rice was cooked to perfection. I'm not sure if some establishments miss the key that brown rice definitely takes longer to cook than white rice, it's kind of a given but Happy Teriyaki got it right. The portion sizes are generous too. I wished I ordered a second side of rice to go along with the rest of my chicken that I wanted to save, because near the end I was eating just chicken. I really enjoy this location. I probably go here once or twice a week. The food is always fresh and tasty. I normally get the chicken teriyaki with extra sauce. Lately I've been getting broccoli instead of the other veggies. The rice is always cooked perfectly and the chicken is moist and tasty. Parking: there are plenty of parking with spots large enough for trucks. Food: they have a decent size menu, and would like to try more, but can't get out of my rut of chicken teriyaki. The broccoli is steamed well. The rice is cooked perfectly and the chicken is cooked with the perfect amount of seasoning and moist. Service: always greeted with a smile and quick to help. After dropping off the food, they always check to make sure it's tasting ok. Facility: always clean and tables are cleared/cleaned quickly. I never use the bathroom, so I can't speak to this, but the rest of the restaurant is well maintained. read more

We've been coming to this location for years because it's one of the few places that my ultra picky kids will always eat. Their tofu tastes pleasant and has a very excellent texture. That being said, my one gripe is they consistently under-sauce their tofu. They barely pour any sauce over their entrees and bowls. Sometimes half the tofu pieces won't even have a drop of sauce on them. They never add enough, even when I send it back and ask for more. I'm not asking for obscene amounts, just for every piece of tofu to be fully coated with sauce. I don't want to be THAT customer so I just pay for an extra cup of sauce on the side every time we visit. It would be nice if they realized this was an issue and made sure to add sauce to coat every piece of tofu. We've been ordering hot and spicy chicken teriyaki for years, the last two times it was just regular chicken teriyaki. We paid for extra chicken, the last two times we haven't received that as well. I called and asked if the recipe had changed.. I was told that the recipe was the same and I had been given the extra chicken I paid for. Great local teriyaki chain. I usually go to the new location by BSU, but figured I would try this location. I called ahead to order. My go to is the chicken teriyaki with half rice and half broccoli. The chicken has a lot of flavor. The chicken breast isn't bad, but after you have chicken thighs, you'll never want to go back to chicken breast. Portions are large. Service has been good every time I've been. The only downside is not all the locations use the same rewards program. The location by BSU has a different one than the Eagle location. read more

No gloves, no masks, at one point the cook wiped his face with his arm. I asked the very nice lady at the front, "is everyone healthy back there?" She said "oh yes!" Tastie! Simple! And super easy! I got a few different kinds for take out and brought it home for dinner, the food is filling, satisfying and flavorful. Even my kids ate it. I got the spicy chicken and with most places "spicy" food I'm a bit disappointed but this had a descent amount of heat! Also got the teriyaki chicken for the kiddos and got a little taste and the Beef for my wife, swapped her some of my spicy. All would be great for next time depending on my mood. The cashier was super kind allowing me time to order since I haven't been there before. After ordering, she got me a cup of water to sip on while I awaited my order. Well this was terribly disappointing. I order beef with extra meat which is a $2 add on, brown rice which there is an additional cost to substitute, and additional for extra spicy. All of the extra costs are normal, but what isn't normal is getting crap food back. I paid $16 in total. I could have paid half that for Panda Express and it would have actually tasted good. First, the brown rice was prepared terribly and doesn't look anything like normal brown rice I've had. The rice tasted so bland and gross I had to add multiple side cups of hot sauce to make it bearable. Next, if you're going to advertise "hot & spicy" for extra it probably should be hot & spicy and not just extra sauce. Lastly, the extra meat. I paid $2 for extra meat. I expected for an extra $2 I'd be getting basically a 3rd serving of meat like normal. Especially being their pictures for the standard meals have 2 servings of meat. So how is it that I paid $2 extra for only 2 servings of meat? To top it off I waited for this underwhelming dinner for about 15-20 minutes. Go bring your money elsewhere. read more

Lunch review: standard teriyaki shop. Lots of parking but it's shared business parking. Walk in open seating with not a lot of deco. They offer teriyaki only and appetizers. The staff was friendly and very personable. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and the chicken breast teriyaki with a gyoza appetizer, soda and water. The gyoza came out after the entrees but was well cooked. The gyoza tastes like it's bagged which is average. The chicken was below average as it was dry and tasted reheated. The sauce was average, it had a standard teriyaki flavor maybe a little less sweet than some and a little thinner. The dish came with 1 mid size scoop of rice and a half platter of vegetable with the other half being the chicken. The cost is higher than we are used to with the average cost $9. Overall a little over priced average teriyaki with quick friendly service. Unfortunately due to the poor chicken quality neither of us ate much of the chicken which is why it's 3 stars read more

Happy Teriyaki on Riverside in Eagle just might be the best fast-Teriyaki place in the Treasure Valley. What separates this location from other ones I have visited are the flavors, portion sizes, service and cleanliness. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki with Beef meal and an order of Gyoza. The chicken was moist and delicious but the beef stole the show. Most of the time at these type of fast-food teriyaki restaurants, the flavors come from the sauce they pour over the meat. That is definitely not the case with the beef at Happy Teriyaki. I took a bite of the meat without any added sauce and immediately noticed that the teriyaki flavor was infused throughout the meat. You really did not need the sauce at all. The chicken and beef meal came with steamed cabbage which was a nice alternative to the over-dressed salad greens typically served at teriyaki restaurants. This meal was enough for 2 people but was reasonably priced. As for the gyoza, they were decent considering they were pre-prepared / frozen items that were deep fried.
