My name is Preston and I enjoy drawing and painting. I have fun in this class. Here are some of my art work.

My daughter has been attending Happy Picasso for 2.5 years now and absolutely loves it. She started with Level 1 when she was 5 years old and is now in Level 3. She has learned to use crayons, markers, acrylic markers, pastels and watercolor. She also loves using the soft clay to make different figurines. My daughter loves the different themes they choose like Pokemon and Kirby. The school is very clean and the teachers are so patient and attentive. Highly recommend Happy Picasso if your child loves art and drawing!

We love Happy Picasso! Both my girls attending this art class. This class makes art so fun and inspiring, thank you for creating such a positive space.

My daughter, 6 year old, has spent almost the last whole year here. Her art sense has improved quite a lot. Staff are very nice and knowledgeable with their crafts. Will continue with the process...

My daughter started attending classes here when she was 4 years old and had already learned so much. From oil pastels to watercolor techniques, I am amazed each week with the artwork she comes home with. Would highly recommend!

Creations are so creative. The staff is so patient and helpful. Kids just love coming to class.

We've been attending for several years. Lots of fun for casual learners with more advanced options for budding artists. Love it here!

My kid have lots of fun in art class. Her drawing has improved a lot after few months. The teachers are nice. Definitely recommend this for other kids.

2 of my kids have been taking the art class at Happy Picasso for 5 years. They first started in their Daly City location and then we switched to Millbrae location which is closer to our house. They had a great experience with the Ms. Mel and Ms. Amber. They are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about art, and they created a positive and supportive learning environment. They are always available to answer questions and provide guidance. They have learned a variety of art techniques, including pencil drawing, painting, clay, and the newest digital art. They especially enjoyed the projects where they were able to experiment with different materials and techniques. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is interested in learning more about art and drawing.

My son's favorite oil painting - Sunset.

David, the owner, welcomed us into the studio and gave us a tour before we started. He taught us the basics and all the important things to know when working on the wheel. He was incredibly informative, hands-on, patient, and welcoming--and also really funny, which made the whole experience even more relaxed and enjoyable. It was our first time trying wheel throwing and we had so much fun that my husband and I couldn't stop talking about it afterward. We each made two pieces, and for beginners I think we did pretty well lol! We were honestly so excited to come back and pick up our creations. The staff and members were also super friendly. One of the members asked if we were doing a lesson and when we said yes she told us we would have a great time--and she was not wrong. They also offer memberships if you're interested, and the studio has a very welcoming, community-based vibe. If you've ever wanted to try pottery or are looking for a fun and unique date idea, I highly recommend it.

My boyfriend booked an appointment here for a 1-time wheel throwing class as a surprise for my…read morebirthday. He had come a couple months ago with his company and had such a good experience with David that he wanted to come again! We walked in a bit early, so we walked to the cute bakery next door for some baked goods and a little coffee before returning at 11:30. The actual class itself is quite short and we took exactly one hour to complete our two bowls (two items per person!) Our instructor showed us very quickly how to throw the clay, center it, and push in and out to make a bowl or a plate. The rest of the class was pretty independent as our instructor walked away several times, which I think could bother some people if you really want to be guided the entire time; however, I actually enjoy being given the space to become comfortable with the clay on my own. Our instructor came by every so often to check in and guide us to the next step or help fix up oopsies (I accidentally kept making the bottom of mine too thin, but he was so encouraging and swiftly fixed it, while also explaining each step of the way so that I could learn and possibly fix my next bowl, if I messed up on that one too.) As it was my birthday, our instructor gave me the demo piece he created and allowed me to choose the color for it as well! I chose the green for all of my pieces. It's been about 2 weeks since we took the class, so I'm hoping to receive the pieces soon! If I lived in the area, I would absolutely consider signing up for a membership to really get into making pottery!

The ingredients were all measured out for us. I appreciate the instructor taking the time to explain food science (e.g why European butter has a higher fat percentage/melts more easily when contact is made with skin, why we refrigerate dough). However, I do feel like there was a lot of time spent explaining this when we could have been working on making the croissant. I'd prefer if we just got succinct instructions and got sent on our way while fun facts about croissants and how different ingredients interact with one another are told to us. I've taken a baking class at Sur La Table where there are TVs placed around each perspective, so everyone can watch as the instructor works on her dish instead of awkwardly huddling around the table craning to get a peek at the proper technique. When I made my croissant at home, they were perfectly buttery and flaky. Baking Arts also printed out PDF instructions for us to take home. As for the selection of baking goods, I noticed a lot of novelty tools that caught my interest! They have a decent selection of food dyes and edible glitter/pearls that are perfect for decorating cakes and baking with.
