All Creatures Wise and Wonderful - A patient enjoying his acupuncture!

    All Creatures Wise and Wonderful

My kitty, Finley is doing remarkably well ever since switching over to holistic care at All…read moreCreatures Wise and Wonderful. Last spring, he got extremely ill and tested positive for a fatal retrovirus. We thought he was a goner. The conventional vets pretty much gave up on him and told me to consider euthanasia. Finley bounced back after we put the prednisone in the trash bin and instead gave him some Acemannan "inner leaf" aloe and CBD oil from Pet Releaf. He started seeing Dr. Matthews after this (early last spring). She tested all of his food, and medicines to make sure they agree with him. She recommended a limited raw food diet, continuing with the aloe and CBD, as well as monthly acupuncture treatments. Dr. Matthews has a way of communicating with the animal, understanding their backstory and knowing what they need. It seems a little hocus pocus but you can clearly see the animal responding. She was also trained as a conventional vet. She has a lovely side-kick named Dee Dee, who does Reiki and just loves up the animals during their procedures. Dee Dee gives Finley "cookies" and places a scarf over his head so he feels secure, (and looks like a baby babushka). Finley does get very stressed from the travel so Dee Dee's relaxing and loving energy has been especially helpful. The office also provides 'acupuncture' treatments over telehealth. Don't ask me how this works, but it DOES. Since Finley started as a patient, he has been acting happy and healthy, getting into lots of mischief, "helping" around the house, and posting his latest thots to Instagram. He does have a bit of a "herx" reaction which lasts about 2-3 days after each appointment, but I assume this is a good sign.

At the time the office manager and I exchanged emails to explain the missed appointment. He was firm in not refunding the $40 no-show fee because, as he told me, it was policy to charge anyone who didn't provide the required notice regardless of the reason or if it was a first time offense. I was quite upset and angry about this charge and stopped bringing Lucy to Dr. Amy because of the unfairness of the situation. Imagine my surprise when, nearly a year later, I received a refund of $40 to my credit card.

While I understand…read morethat emergency clinics must prioritize critical cases, I waited over 3 hours without being seen. During that time, I heard great things about your care and saw many satisfied customers--so I was disappointed to leave without my pet receiving treatment. The staff eventually explained that more urgent cases were triaged ahead of us, which I respect, but I wish this had been communicated more clearly upfront. Being told repeatedly that "you're one of the next ones" gave me false hope. In the end, I had my dog fully treated the next day at our regular vet--for close to the same cost as your base visit fee. Your 24-hour clinic is clearly a valuable resource for true emergencies, but I suggest being more transparent about wait times and triage policies to help others make informed choices about whether or not they should try to be seen.

First, the receptionist was cold and unfriendly. They then came and took my pet into the back and I didn't see or hear from ANYONE for the next hour! The receptionist had left to go home right when we got there. So I walked into the back rooms where I saw several employees just hanging out talking. One jumped-up nervously and told me that someone will be with me shortly. More waiting. No communication. Very expensive. This place is just a money making machine for the owners who used to run a shoddy operation right across the street. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE.

She was truly an invaluable partner in care when my beloved Brittany Spaniel, Brownie, was diagnosed with liver cancer. I'm certain that he lived longer and with a greater quality of life due to Dr. Anna's expert care. She was so caring, empathetic, and truly there for all of us during that very difficult time. I am forever indebted to her and cannot recommend her highly enough.

All of this began after she was spayed at 6 months and developed a staff infection. I followed traditional medical treatment for years using steroids, creams and shots which only helped on a temporary basis and her condition continued to worsen. I then changed her diet to a raw and grain free food and began a more holistic approach to her care. I saw improvement but not rapidly enough. After reading about the benefits of Chinese herbs and acupuncture, I searched for a veterinarian that used these tools in their practice. I was very fortunate to find Dr. Gurevich to treat my dog, and the results so far are more than favorable. My observatioan of Dr. Gurevich is that she is a very knowledgeable and dedicated young woman who clearly has a great love for her profession and the animals that she treats. She examined my dog and reviewed all her medical records and stated that she would work along with my preferred vet if I wanted her to. After her evaluation, she prescribed two Chinese herbs to help with her skin and inflammation and then performed acupuncture and laser which also treats her skin and paws. After two series of treatments and several weeks on the herbs, my dogs coat is beautiful, and her constant licking of her paws has subsided to where the fur is starting to grow back. Her energy level is astounding to me! She has the energy of a puppy! The best part is that Dr. Gurevich comes to my home to treat my dog which has completely eliminated the stress and anxiety factor of going to the veterinary clinic! I am so pleased and grateful that I have found Dr. Anna Gurevich. I highly recommend her services for alternative therapies in treating your pet.

Upon the recommendation of the owner of Pet's Choice in Deep River I visited with Dr Lamme. His "office" is nothing fancy. It is in the basement of his house and hardly what one would envision as a vet clinic but then, Dr Lamme is not your usual run-of-the-mill vet. He doesn't have tons of expensive diagnostic equipment or the ubiquitous exam room stocked with a stainless steel table and scale. If you need to have tests run it's best to have them done at a regular clinic as he will tell you. Where Dr Lamme excels is in holistic treatment for animals. I sat with him for nearly two hours. He reviewed my cat's blood test results and was clearly knowledgeable in understanding them. He gave me diet advice which is about all you can do for CRF cats. He printed out a number of home recipes I could try, educated me on feline nutrition and provided me with some supplements as well. As it turned out my cat was a bit of a "junk food junkie" and decided that she was bored with my homemade foods after just a few feedings. Based on Dr Lamme's advice though, I knew what to look for when I got to the health food and pet stores. It's not protein that hurts the kidneys so much as the phosphorus. In switching her diet to premium highly nutritious foods that contained no fillers, by products and processed junk my cat could continue to live a high quality life. She survived very happily for 3 more years. She went into renal failure just 6 weeks shy of her 20th birthday. She was still playing and enjoying life right up until the day before she died. I am convinced that my visit to Dr Lamme extended the time she had left with me without compromising the quality of her life.

His early start as an overvaccinated rescue dog took a toll on him and he has developed a lot of allergies and sensitivities. I will definitely go back to Dr Lamme to support my dog's continuing recovery and healing from previous insults. My dog loves him!

It is NOT a one way holistic street as she would like pet owners to believe. Furthermore, people who combine GOOD QUALITY and PRESCRIPTION dog foods are NOT comparable to people who "leave their dogs tied to a tree", as she proclaims in her online video. In her video she demos how SHE determines, in a bizarre ritual taught to her by her money making idol, the right meds, foods, supplements for your pets by holding the food/med up against the animal while she holds the arm of a surrogate. If she can push the surrogate's arm down while she holds the food/med up against your animal, then the animal cannot tolerate that food/med. First of all, she's a holistic vet…read more- she won't take blood out of your pup, or do any invasive procedures to check them out. She works on using kinesiology and (in my opinion) intuition. That said, all those methods WORK. She has managed to come up with a plan, food and diet change, to heal my pup from Perianal Fistulae (nasty illness common in GSDs). Now, I pretty much forced her (ok she was cooperative) to team up with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Vet from Connecticut (Dr. Stephanie Torlone) and come up with a plan to help him. This was back in February and both of them did a fab job ! They really got along well and came up with several herbs to work with that would help Albi out. As for personality wise, Dr. Doolittle is a tough cookie. She expects the best out of everything and everyone, so if you can't handle that, you'll be sorely disappointed. However, I love her for this. Price wise - this is expensive, but please note: I am a full time worker and full time student - I barely make ends meet, and when Albi got sick, I had even more trouble. But I KNEW Doolittle could help us out without using harsh immunosuppresants. I also knew based on my research of PFs, that this was the only sure way to get rid of them. Doolittle was worth every penny, still is. Every once in a while, you'll find some things are marked up, but if you do your research right, you can get some supplements/treats/treatments for cheaper elsewhere. However, the price for her services are worth it - she uses every ounce of energy in her to get the right combination of treatments for each patient, and she deserves some compensation for that.
