We just returned home with our cat from a very unpleasant experience at this business. We took the cat (Nellie) there to be professionally groomed as we are unable to keep her very long and thick coat under control ourselves and had her beautifully groomed by another service previously. My wife called Lori's and asked if they could do it. They said yes and my wife further asked if they have experience with cats that are difficult (biting, clawing) to groom. Yes they said, we can handle that. My wife asked if any vaccination documentation was required beforehand. No, just make an appointment and bring her in. So we did. Upon arrival, my wife explained what the previous groomer did (a "lion cut") and further advised them again that Nellie will resist any attempts at grooming her and will bite and claw. They again said they could handle it. We assumed they had the necessary safety equipment and expertise to handle the job and left Nellie in their care. A couple hours later we received a call saying they couldn't complete the job and we could come and pick her up. When we walked through the door, we were met by one person holding a soaking wet Nellie in her carrier, and another (who turned out to be Lori) shouting at us about how we brought them a "feral", untamed cat for them to groom. She shouted something about how the other woman would now have to go to the hospital due to wounds Nellie caused. All the while, Nellie was scared, agitated and crying so I hustled her outside and left my wife to complete the check out process. I noticed when I got Nellie out to the car that she had two bleeding wounds on her back that were not there when we dropped her off. Inside, Lori continued to assail my wife, including saying she was "lying" about Nellie not being feral, that Nellie was aggressive and "should be put down." ??? Not exactly what I wanted to hear - you should have your pet put down because we couldn't do the job we said we could do. Bottom line - my wife was charged $115 for a half-groomed pet that was injured while in their care. Then she was subjected to unwarranted loud and hostile verbal abuse by the business owner who tried to place the blame for their inability to complete the service on us. read more

We have been taking our two pups here for 2 years every 6 weeks. The last 4 trips have been terrible! We schedule our next visit when we are there picking up our pups so we schedule 6 weeks out and the last 3 visits they called us days prior to our appointment and asked if we could reschedule and we say no. We schedule for a reason. Then when we are bring our pups we get attitude from the staff. We had an apportionment for this week for both pups and they wanted us to reschedule one of them? Seriously? We told them on the phone just cancel both we won't be back and they were like "uhhh ok" not I'm so sorry what can we do! Feel free to go if you like attitude or constantly changing times and days. read more

Unfortunately I cannot review the skills of the groomers. But I'll attest that we take our dog there 2 times a month to have her claws trimmed. And they do a great job. It's $10 to do all four feet. The process is quick. They actually use something like a dremel tool so the claws are NOT sharp and jagged. A nice smooth experience and shorter smoother claws. We've moved out of town and it's too bad we won't be able to use their services anymore. read more

We've been going here for about a year or so and LOVE IT! We are moving from Deltona to Longwood and this is the only business/reason we will ever head back over to this area. Our dog is very sensitive and not fond of strangers (Australian shepherd), but he is calm when they groom him and happy when we get him home. They listen to what you'd like done and they have the most reasonable prices. Definitely recommend! read more

We have been going to Happy PAWS for 3 yrs. We had 4 poodles. Took our daisy to get her groomed. I told the groomer to trim her ears a little . Well needless to say he cut her ears all the way down. She does not look like s poodle . I am so mad. I asked to see the manager (Lori) I even emailed her and asked to write me bake. She never did. It has been 3 weeks. I guess she does not want my business any more . read more

I have been a customer of happy paws for number of years. Very happy with Amanda. Amanda is an amazing groomer. Today was a disaster. My dog came home looking terrible. I called happy paws to see who cut my dog. I always specifically ask for Amanda to cut my dog. After being on hold for 5 minutes I was yelled at by the owner, Lori. Amanda had an emergency and she "had" to cut my dog. She said "I thought you would be happy she got cut and, I think she looked damn good!" Very very unprofessional conversation. Lori was short, yelling and also telling me about her horrible day. Unfortunately, we will not be going to happy paws ever again. read more

I have been a long time customer of Lori's, unfortunately I had to take my business over to Divine Pet Spa in Debary. About a month ago, I wrote a check to Happy Paws for grooming service. I received a phone call from the receptionist, Laura, who said my check bounced. I have never written a bad check in my life and knew that I very well had plenty of funds available so I went to my bank who verified what I just said, they have not rejected a check nor would they have any reason to as I had plenty of money in there. So I called and spoke to Laura again, who now said "well its not a bounced check actually, Loris bank couldn't read the check so they charged her $30" I said I have never heard of a bank charging $30 for not being "able to read" a check, Laura was then very rude, yelling and just had a too bad attitude and told me "Lori is too busy to go to her bank to deal with this so you can go up there and deal with it if you want" I asked many times to speak to Lori, she was never available and I guess did not care to return my calls. I didn't have the time to go fight with HER bank about THEIR error either, I had weekly chemo and radiation treatments. I took the time however to go up there and pay her cash for the services, but I was not going to pay for this "bad check fee" that wasn't a bad check fee, the charges were $40.00 so I handed Laura $60.00 and said to include a $10 tip and just give me $10 back. She laughed and said no, you're not getting any change, the change from the $60 will go towards Loris check fees and flat out refused to give me my change. I have never witnessed such an unprofessional business in my life. Lori never would call me or come out to speak to me about this, which is very terrible customer service. I love the groomer who did my dog, I do not remember her name, but Lori needs to learn how to deal with situations like these and Laura definitely should have been fired for how she treated a customer. My daughter who was also a long time customer of Happy Paws called there to try and talk to Lori, who finally got on the phone, as soon as she found out what it was about she screamed into the phone "I don't have time for this shit" and then hung up. read more

PASS IT ON! We took our dog to Happy Paws by Lori in DeBary to have his anal glands expressed and hair in his ears removed. We made a big point about not cutting his hair. He is a Papillon and his long hair is what makes him beautiful. They cut off his 4 in long silky mane and his big poof of curly silky white chest hair. When we took him in to see the owner, Lori, she argued with us and said his hair had not been cut. The groomer admitted to cutting his chest hair but tried to blame the shampoo for his missing mane. Lori called my wife "lady" in a condescending way and said we were just looking for something for nothing (a $40 refund which we hadn't asked for). She told us to leave and threatened to call the police. All we went in for was an apology and a promise it wouldn't happen again and some assurance that the hair would grow back. She was nasty and defensive from the minute we walked in the door. We told her we had pictures of his hair before they cut it and she said that didn't prove anything. She is extremely unprofessional, rude, and lies to cover mistakes. DO NOT GO TO THIS GROOMER. They don't listen to what you want or don't want then won't own up to their mistake and apologize to save a customer's business with them. She'd rather lie and call people names and threaten them with police than do the right thing. read more

Red comes out looking good, smelling good with nails trimmed and earwax removed. I don't have a particular groomer and the groomers that have done Red have done a great job. By doing this, I get a little different look every time (which I find interesting). It's in the ballpark price-wise ... $45 for my 24 pound pom/chow. read more
