Made my appointment for a pedicure but they were able to squeeze me in for a quick manicure too. I loved Lin, she did amazing with my toes. She took her time to make sure she got it just right. The people there where nice, but do not go there. It is 2 days later and I am still in pain and my paint is coming off my toe edges because they didn't apply a topcoat. It looks like a home job. These worst was being cut so many times. The older lady there had trouble seeing what she was doing and cut me at while trimming my toe cuticles she cut them down to the quick on both toes and nails -- they look awful and have been throbbing and bleeding for two days. I have never had a more painful experience and sadly I was preparing for a wedding. I can't walk in the shoes so have to switch to sandals. read more

I really wanted to like Happy Nails as I want a solid nail place in town. Sadly, the experience in the store was fine, but within 3 days the gel has started to fall off. My friend's gel fell off of 2 toes after 3 days and then 2 more toes after another 5 days. My toes are better, but the gel started wearing off the tips after a week. read more

I just got a pair of beautiful acrylic nails done by Miley. I highly recommend an appointment with her. She is super sweet and really talented. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did it perfectly. I've seen designs she's done on other people's nails and they are very good. All my nail shapes are even. Went in here for a pedicure. The ladies are very nice and she did great painting a French but was a little rough with trimming my nails. The place is a little dingy as well. Chairs and everything look clean and are nice but the office itself just looks old and worn out a bit. Main complaint is - for a pedicure I've never been to a place that did less than a 20 min massage for your calves/feet. Here, 5 minutes. I timed it. Not the totally relaxing, enjoyable pedicure that I'm used to. Can't say I'll be returning. read more

I got a Shellac manicure and my husband a pedi. We both left happy with the quality of the job done. I would still not rate this place higher cause they seem not to really respect appointments (we made one, but still had to wait about 25 mins to get the service). Plus the instruments were "sanitized" with alcohol, which doesn't seem very reliable. Though we didn't have any probs with parking like others mentioned. Service was fine but I asked for a nice sage gel manicure with white leaves on my ring finger, I picked out the color I wanted off of the swatches and everything. The lady managed to find the farthest green from what I asked for, my nails are neon green and the gel is solidified through my cuticles. Cheap prices! And there is definitely a reason!! My nails all look just fine, so that isn't the issue. The people who worked on me rushed through and I wasn't able to really relax and enjoy. I REALLY wasn't able to relax when I realized the woman doing my toes reached straight into a drawer and pulled out her tools as needed. They certainly did not come fresh out of an autoclave pack! (i.e. they had not been sterilized!) I love the people of Durango but I do not want in on your foot fungus! Icing on the cake was the man who took over painting my toes and doing my manicure took a couple of smoke breaks and smelled horrible! Again, my nails LOOK fine. And the folks were polite. I have been going here for a few years and usually have good service from the lady that works there named Linn. A couple weeks ago she asked if the man that works there could do it and I said that would be fine, as he did my pedicure she played on her phone the entire time. So it wasn't a matter of being too busy. See the pics below for the results. When I complained about what an utter mess he made of my feet, he apologized and said he would do it again... But I didn't have another 40 minutes. In fact it was the only time I had all week to accomplish this. I was really disappointed that not only was I not valued as a customer, but that my time wasn't valued. When I waved him down so I could tell him I was unhappy, he motioned for me to wait a moment and he stepped out to smoke a cigarette..by the time he came back I was fuming. I refused to pay him for the service and he followed me out to my car and demanded payment. I reluctantly paid and later called and talked to Mailee (owner?) And got her email address so I can send her pictures. This is her response: "Hi Sarah. I am so sincerely sorry about your pedicure that is a very horrible job I have to say myself. Please come back and I myself will personally do your pedicure and it's on me" I reminded her that it wasn't "on her" because I had already paid, and that I wanted my money back rather than step foot in that business again. I told her if she didn't send me a refund within two weeks I would post the pictures and my experience on yelp...I haven't heard a word. Since this happened I have looked at the reviews for this place and there is a common theme. The man that works there does a TERRIBLE job... Yet they still allowed him to waste my time and money. Completely terrible job. I had a pedicure and a gel polish change on my hands. I am left with polish smears on my toes and fingers. The gel polish is sticky and not shiny. The guy who did the job filed my nails at an angle instead of straight across so that each nail was slanted. Its like he didn't care at all and didn't want to be there. He painted only part if several of my toenails, it's so ridiculous. I had to ask for a file when he was done so I could file down the gel polish as he had left little snags on the tips of my finger nails. The whole place is dirty and worn. Happy nails owners have been in business in Durango for many many years. Lynn and her daughter work very hard to keep clients happy and coming back. I have had mani pedi and acrylic nails done at several nail shops in town and I can assure you they are the best..prices are cheapest in town and service is great! I pull designs off pinterest and she always does a great job. I go every two weeks or so for fills and never have parking problems or problems of any kind!! I think they are great at Happy Nails! I have never made an appointment, but have never had to wait long, even at peak times. I have problems with my feet, tend to have ingrown toenails and deep and painful calluses, and they always take the extra time to dig out the ingrown nails and scrub enough that I leave with smooth feet, even during flip flop season! If you have problem feet, I highly recommend Happy Feet. And the price is really reasonable! I have paid a lot more for pedicures in town, and have not been as happy! read more

Unlike some of the other reviews I think this place is fine, you can tell by looking at it that it's not a high end spa, and if your looking to have everything perfect you probably shouldn't come here, if you want the great affordable prices Happy Nails offers you will have to sacrifice having the ultra classy spa environmental, yes the parking lot is a "shit show" however this is not Happy Nails fault as they do not own the complex or the parking lot, the atmosphere does seem cheap, but the work they do is totally quality, I've never had them botch my nails and the workers are friend and as mentioned before the prices are the most adorable in town, this place is fine, the most important thing is how your nails turn out, not how bad the parking was read more

I didn't even finish my pedicure must less start the pedicure. This place is dirty and uses dirty tools. If I were a health inspector they would have a lot of violations. The pumice stones were dirty and the oil was in a jar with a paint brush. Since they use this on every foot pretty sure this is a health no-no. So I rushed home to rewash my feet and do my own pedicure. Plus, they accidentally cut my big toe. Very bummed. read more

I have been going to Mailee for years, even when they were located in Cortez. When I moved from Denver 11+years ago it was difficult to find a salon that did a great job at a reasonable price. Happy Nails fit that bill. Yes it is a busy salon and you should definitely make an appointment. But that fact should tell you they are a business in demand. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes, and for all those who are so impatient and think they are above waiting did you stop to think that maybe your fellow patron before you showed up late for their appointment? I constantly get comments on how nice my nails look and asked about who does them. read more

not the best pedicure i've gotten (see below), but not the worst (it didn't hurt and they didn't cut me). first - location: the parking in front is a shit show with no room to maneuver at all and a real danger of getting slammed by oncoming traffic on camino while trying to get out, why bother with those spots in the first place? park next door or behind the building if you don't want to talk to your insurance company that day. second: the 8 year old was in charge of filling my tub and had trouble getting the temp right. made me feel very rich-white-girl-in-third-world-country-with-child-labor and was uncomfortable. third: first half of pedicure was fine but they were short handed and my attendant was constantly interrupted and forgot to finish the bottoms of my feet when i specifically asked for and was willing to pay for, callous removal since i'd had foot surgery and it had been several months since i could have a pedicure. they used the razor (which i understood to be illegal now??) but didn't buff or smooth so as a result i had to go to the store and get a pumus stone to finish the job myself at the hotel. next time i'm in town, i'll go somewhere else. read more
