Fun little store on the Northern side of "downtown" Bolton Landing. Half the place is a kids toy store filled with 80s nostalgia and toddler-appropriate playthings as well as a surprisingly large selection of books ranging from baby board books to YA novels. The other side of the store is a beach town catch-all, filled with t-shirts, hats, swimwear, sandals and souvenirs. Is it touristy? You betcha. Overpriced? Yep! But it's still one of the best shops in the Lake George area. The quality of the products (particularly the shirts) is noticeably better than those offered in the Village, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. If you happen to be there over Labor Day weekend, they always have a big end of season sale that pretty much negates the mark ups. Our favorite stop for Bolton Landing and Lake George wear in the region! Pro tip: if you value your rear view mirrors (and possibly your life!), don't bother looking for parking along Lake Shore Drive/9N. Instead, take advantage of the free and plentiful side street parking (we can always find a spot on Stewart Ave.!).

I found one for her sister in a gift shop in Buffalo but they were all out of my other granddaughter's name. I tracked down this gift shop that had the item. I was amazed that the owner would mail a not very expensive item to make a little girl and her grandmother happy for the holidays. I very much appreciate the owner's kindness and follow through. I found a pair quickly and went up to pay. The cashier kindly helped me by clipping off the tags so I could wear the shoes right away. While I was paying I was distracted by him clipping my sandals and left my debit card behind. I immediately noticed when I went to use the ATM next door at the arcade to get quarters for my niece and nephew. I went right back to the store (within 2 mins) and asked if anyone saw my BOA debit card. Without looking, I was told that there were no debit cards left behind, sorry! I then went to the garbage outside where I disposed of my broken sandal and dug through to see if I accidentally threw my card away. I absolutely knew that I left it at the store, so I went back. A women came out from the back to see what was going on and reviewed video cameras. Right when I was taking my sandals in the video, the cashier suddenly peeked into the garbage and found my card! He shut the video off before I could see what actually happened after I got my sandals. I am 100% convinced that this card was almost stolen. I don't want to hurt this business because they have nice things and it is a great shop in the Lake George Village, but I feel very upset about this interaction and felt it was important to share. It was a very sketchy situation.

If I could give Berlin's location a negative star, I would…read more This is the third time I've been harassed by employees with their little handheld devices by the door. I am not stealing from your store, in fact I probably spend anywhere from $800-$1,000/month at your store. To be charged at in front of other customers and accused of not ringing in products that are clearly on my receipt is not only embarrassing but just degrading. I don't appreciate it and especially in front of my daughter who is Autistic and nonverbal. I know this review will fall on deaf ears but if I didn't have to go to Walmart in Berlin due to it being one of the only options in the area, I would not be a customer.

Home delivery, while much, much better…read morethan showing up in person via GMT bus (no longer drive), it has many, many problems in the year and a half I have been with them. Get used to a highly repetitive diet. Bakery is overly sweet. Food overall is a little pricier. No real sales as with the high-low supermarkets. Most of the fresh fruit is inedible. Just try ripening a peach and compare it to the succulent beauties at Shaw's! Despite my highly repetitive diet, they are chronically out of stock on one thing or another. They use an unnamed 3rd party delivery service, and they are literally (nickel and) diming me to death with all the single foods getting its own bag! This added 10 cents each to my cereal and to my frozen pops for getting their own bags. The Vermont bag fee is about reducing bags by charging 10 cents to DISCOURAGE USE OF BAGS ON SINGLE ITEMS. The delivery service either does not know this or does not care.
