I recently scheduled a cleaning service to clean a client's home; however, the cleaner did not meet expectations and failed to complete any actual cleaning. They informed my client that the home was "too dirty" and that they could not handle the job. This situation is unacceptable especially after requesting and paying for a deep clean. To make matters worse, "Mike" has since stopped responding to calls. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of communication is deeply concerning. Mike came by and actually spent time going over the list of missed items and ensured that everything was done thoroughly and extremely well before sending me the invoice. We used Happy House Cleaning once prior and their cleaner did a wonderful job. ----- However, when I spoke with the owner Charmon on the phone to book another appointment at the end of our conversation Charmon forgot to end the call. She proceeded to make fun of me as a client and called me an airhead to her husband and co-owner Mike who joined in on the laughing at my expense. ---- I advised Charmon I could still hear her and that she should not speak ill of her clients. She and Mike continued to laugh and Charmon chimed in that she would still clean our office. My review in no way reflects the cleaners that came to my home. They did an excellent job. This review is for the management of the company. When I got the quote, it was for an hourly price of $55 per hour with an estimate of 2.5 hours. I have been overbilled for 2 out of 3 times I've used the service. The cleaner does the job in 2 hours or less. The owner refuses to credit back the difference, take my calls or return messages. This is unacceptable behavior. Especially in a service company! I have used Happy House Cleaning for several years. I have recently retired and only use them on an occasional basis now. They have always given me excellent service. Charmaine is easy to work with and always very accommodating. The cleaning staff are always polite and do a consistently AWESOME job. There prices are reasonable, and I always know how much it will be up front. I have tried many other cleaning services and it seems they start out good and then go downhill after that. They do a better job cleaning than any other company (and I've been through many), they have the best customer service BY FAR, and they're significantly better priced than any other company I've found by a looooong shot!! I will absolutely be reporting these people to the Better Business Bureau. They quoted my 70-year-old mother $150 to clean her very small one bedroom place. her place was already pretty much clean as it always is, she just needed it scrubbed for Thanksgiving. After the service was done, and the cleaners took four hours...FOUR HOURS (obviously intentionally slow) they informed her that she owed them $400! What the hell!? I'm glad you people get off on ripping off old ladies... Hopefully the Better Business Bureau will see you for what you are. We have had maid services multiple multiple times. I have been very happy with Happy Housecleaning! I like that they are a local business first of all. The office staff are cheerful, helpful, and willing to work with your needs. The cleaning girls come in a car with the business logo on it and wearing business t-shirts. I like that because I think it is more professional and helps prevent problems. The cleaners have done an excellent job and my house looks better than it has in a long time! They've even managed to get my white tile shower looking decent, which I could never do! Plus, if I leave them notes to clean or not clean a certain room, they will. I was afraid this type of cleaning would be more than I could afford, but when I told them I have a budget of $110/cleaning they said they would stick to that. Have been a customer for 3 years. Charmin is the owner and has been very responsible and responsive to my requests. I contact her by phone and usually get a response within 24-48 hours. If something isn't cleaned to satisfaction, she will send out a gal to re-clean the home, which has only happened twice. The only thing that has been a concern for me is the turn-over in employees. The quality of cleaning does vary depending on whom is the cleaning person. So I make a point of having good communication with my cleaning person as to what I expect and am friendly and kind, and tip the person for their work on a major holiday such as Christmas. We have used this company several times, while the ladies who do the actual cleaning do a fairly decent job the owner of this company is very shady. The first time we used the service we were told if we used them three times the lady that referred us would receive a $50 referral bonus. On our third time of booking we mentioned the referral to Charmaine, the owner, to ensure the referral was paid and she told us that only applys if we signed a contract for regular service. Which was never part of the original conversation and one of the reasons we continued to use them. Since then each time we have used their service we have been billed incorrectly. We have been charged $150 at least three times that I am aware of for service that should have only been $100. Each time we receive service we have to go back and check our credit card statement to see if we were billed correctly and then call Charmaine to dispute the charge. Each time receive a different excuse as to why we billed incorrectly. The latest was just last week when were were told there is now a flat fee of $150 no matter how long the cleaners are at your home or how many people they send. Charmaine asked us if we received the email with the new pricing. We told her no and asked her to send it to us. That was over a week ago and we are still waiting for this so called email with new pricing. If you use this company please double check your billing if paying by credit card and be aware you may be scammed out of money if you are not paying attention. The owners of this company lack integrity and advise everyone to think twice before using. read more
