The parents of this school have no respect for the streets and the neighborhood. They block both…read moresides of the road making it sometimes impossible to pass. They park for HOURS and not just to drop off their kids. They block the merge lane that it part of the STREET, not parking area, and it's meant to merge into when cars are about to turn left and oncoming traffic is coming so cars merge and head straight, and there's no delay in traffic. If you happen to politely ask them, God forbid, they go off at you like they own the street. You can't PARK on the road, let alone for hours and hold up traffic! Park in PARKING SPACES. And the principle has been contacted countless times, says she talks to them, and for US to call the police. They're there because she has meetings with her loud speaker. They're not there because of us, the neighbors. WHY bother police if she can handle it! It's about respect. They start parking before 11 AM until after 1 PM, especially in that merge lane. If the principle would just have the decency to enforce this, but no, she doesn't care, and wants us to do her work. Neighbors ALL over, even on Kathleen Lane complain. Oh, and then they go on your driveway too. Who drives into private property? One neighbor recently complained that they almost ran over her granddaughter who was out in the front lawn. It's the weekend and they had a meeting apparently and did it again, and were blasting bass, occupying the entire road, side streets and their lot as well. WE LIVE here. WE WORK. We have a right to relax and rest! This goes on year after year after year.

They do not prepare you for what lies ahead. It continues to be a racially charged atmosphere. And though I was lucky enough to have gotten some good teachers here and there, I understand they've all cut and run. For all the bad press DC public schools get, my years in the DC system served me well. The things I learned at Janney Elementary and Deale Junior High have stuck with me, it's hard to say that about my high school education.

My 10th grader was struggling in AP Physics and we reached out to Kaplan-Cohen tutoring. Michelle…read morewas wonderful about finding a tutor that matched well with our daughter's learning style and needs. It eliminated our child's Physics-related stress and she ended the year with straight As and feeling pretty confident about her AP test experience. We couldn't be happier and would highly recommend!

Michelle Kaplan-Cohen is very organized and a great communicator. She was great about finding the…read moreright tutor to meet my children's needs. She has been fabulous to work with, and she's made sure we are happy with the tutors she matches us up with. Michelle always gives us options when selecting a tutor, and we've been so happy with the results. My older son was having so much trouble with virtual learning that he was failing every class. Michelle matched us with an amazing tutor that connected well with my son, tutored in the subjects he needed most, and tutored in executive functioning. With the tutor's assistance, that mostly turned out to be in executive functioning and walking him through the steps to write a huge history paper, my older son ended up with A's and B's for the rest of the year. My younger son needed some help in writing this past year. Michelle recommended what seemed to be an unusual pairing, but my son is so inspired by this writing tutor that instead of playing video games, he takes time to write pieces for her to go over with him and suggest improvements. My older son is also seeing her now as well and is gaining valuable feedback on how he can improve his school writing assignments.

The entire staff handled this WRONG. And another mother told me she would be filing CPS and licensing reports ... because the same staff member Sarah , treated her INFANT wrongly as well ... and thought it was funny. Also when you bring up legal affairs they will ( in the same breath) delete camera footage and tell you that you may only direct your concerns to higher up directors because you brought up legal affairs . They lie about involving higher ups when families are upset so that you do not reach out yourself . The directors allow their staff to let new babies cry for long periods of time . They hire idiots that know nothing about the law or how to care for peoples INFANTS. And should be cited for deleting camera footage ,before the 30 day waiting period .
