From our first meeting, the owner, Madeline, was informative, and caring, gave us a clear idea of what to expect on our wedding day, and took the time to answer all our questions. Every step of the way, Madeline was patient, responsive, and put us at ease. We even scheduled a meet-and-greet a few weeks before the wedding with Madeline and her husband, Gabriel, who is also a co-owner of the business. We were certain that they would not only care for Oreo but treat him like their own baby. On the day of our wedding, Madeline and Gabriel arrived at our hotel and immediately took care of Oreo. They put on his cute "best dog" scarf and bow tie and handled him while my husband and I got ready for our wedding. They walked him, fed him, played with him, helped him pose for pictures with us, and treated Oreo like family. They transported him to the venue, took him back to our hotel, and stayed with him until we got back. We couldn't have asked for a better company or people to work with! They also documented our wedding day with photos from Oreo's perspective. The gallery of photos was beautiful and something we will cherish for the rest of our lives. My wife and I have a very complicated schedule--lots of quick trips in and out of town...some of them will allow us to bring our two dogs along, few of them that will allow us to bring both dogs and our two cats. HB&T has proven able to accommodate any of our needs, even the close-to-last-minute ones. Simple dog walking? Done--and we always get photos that demonstrate how happy the pups are. Overnight stays? No problem. Even the elusive cats are happy to pose for pictures on those occasions. Peace of mind that the critters' meds or supplements are being delivered in the right way? Absolutely. In fact, on this last point, HB&T earned our permanent business, respect, and appreciation. The short version of the story is that HB&T literally saved our cat's life. We were in Seattle and received voice messages and texts about unusual behavior from one of our cats. We replied as soon as we could, only to discover that HB&T was already en route to the emergency room--something was definitely wrong. Had HB&T failed to spot the behavior, had they waited around for confirmation that it was ok to take our cat to the ER, he wouldn't have made it. Not exaggerating. The HB&T crew are true professionals who love animals. They take take care of ours as if they were their own. They are respectful of our personal property and space. In fact, it's pretty standard to return home after being away for a few days only to discover that the house is more organized than when we left it. I couldn't be happier with Maddie, Gabriel, and Juan. They have helped out so much with Lilly and I never have to worry about her when I'm at work. I can always rely on them to be there for her to take her out for her daily walk no matter what. Everyday they walk her I receive an email that they have arrived. Once they complete the walk I receive another email with a recap of their walk and pictures. At first I didn't pay too much attention to them, but now it's a highlight of my day seeing how much fun she had on her walk. Overall I couldn't recommend them enough. I've been using Happy Tails since I relocated to NJ from FL in July. I have an English bulldog and am extremely particular with who cares for him as well as who walks him since there are always a number of things to consider. Additionally, when being boarded I needed someone who was caring, understanding, communicative, knowledgeable, as well as willing to provide a crate free environment for my pet. I initially started having them walk my dog whenever I needed to attend meetings or had any other event where I wouldn't be able to come home during the day. They were always more than accommodating. Our relationship and trust has now grown to where I feel extremely confident having my pet boarded with them for several days at a time as I travel. They often send me pictures and videos throughout the day to let me know that my dog is healthy and ok. Additionally, they are comfortable applying medication if that need arises and in one extreme situation accommodated me on very short notice. I can never say enough about Gabriel and Madeline! These are people you can entrust your pet to; they are extremely attentive to Melky and responsive if something last minute arises in my schedule. The other added benefit is you're having the same reoccurring person walking your dog. My dog is very strong and temperamental with other dogs, so I would never trust just anyone walking him; they are very experienced and well trained in handling even the most difficult dogs (my dog is very difficult). Since they have walked him since he was a pup, they also helped instill good walking habits and obedience. Even more noteworthy, my dog has destroyed a number of things (books, couch, random things on the table). These guys are nice enough to help clean up the messes while I'm at work. We never used a dog walking service before because I was always home by 2pm. At the start of this year, with my hours changing and our dog Molly used to her usual routine, my wife & I researched a number of services and were recommended Happy Tails Pets (HPT). The service that they have been providing on a daily basis is nothing short of extraordinary. We always receive a personal e-mail update about the visit accompanied by the occasional photo. Sometimes a group-walk occurs and having her socialize with other dogs is great. Recently we used HPT for overnight boarding services and we were amazed by the services that they provided. They picked her up & dropped her off at our residence, provided updates throughout the weekend, and in the pictures that they sent us, we could see that Molly was enjoying her experience. Her body language and posture indicated that everything was great. When we arrived back from our weekend away, Molly was full of energy and playful. Usually when we Board her at other facilities, she returns tired and heads to the basement and doesn't interact as much. This usually lasts a day or more. Madeline just took care of my two cats for 3 weeks (2 visits per day) and she was absolutely amazing! During our initial consultation, she spent a lot of time with us just getting to know my cats and their silly quirks. I could tell right away that she was very sweet and that she really loved animals. While I was out of town, she sent me text updates with pictures (and sometimes videos) at every single visit. This really put me at ease since I always knew exactly how they were doing. Also, my cats are on a raw diet (Primal Pet Foods) and she was completely comfortable with the process of defrosting the food in the refrigerator overnight before feeding, as well as ensuring clean and safe handling of the food and their feeding bowls. Both of my cats seemed to really like Madeline. One of them is really scared of strangers, but he seemed comfortable having Madeline in the apartment during the initial visit and even let her rub his head. I cant say enough positive things about Madeline and Gabriel! There are not enough great thing I can say about Happy Bark and Tails. Both Gabriel and Madeline. I was recommended to them from a neighbor and couldn't have been happier. I had just gotten our puppy and needed a dog walker 2-3 times a day. They came and met us at my house, hung out with the pup, discussed my needs, and started that week. I get an email upon their arrival and again when they have dropped our pup off. On that email I get a quick overview of how the walk went and pictures!! Gabriel worked with me on all the training we were doing to make sure we were consistent and offered tons of suggestions based on his experience. I've had a few times where things have come up and I needed an extra walk and they are always willing to jump in where their schedule allows. You can tell both owners have a love for what they do and a connection with each dog they walk. They have also loaned me 2 different crates since my Pup kept escaping the custom made one I had bought. In addition Gabriel took note of any stressors for my pup (dogs barking, loud cars, etc) and worked with him to get comfortable with these new sights and sounds. They also bring along other dogs they walk (after asking permission) to work on socialization. Having them involved in our puppy years is definitely helping shape the well-rounded pet my pup is becoming.
