The sign said they have been here since the 80s. Anyway because it's a small nursery and open 7 days a week, it's a good idea to call if you're planning to make a long journey to visit just to make sure they haven't stepped out. It's usually fine but I see people on other reviews have come in from far away without calling and it's just a good idea to call if it's a mom and pop nursery and you have a long drive. My favorite fruit was white sapote, cherimoya, the bazillions of types of guavas they have, ice cream bean was delicious, and I never knew palms have delicious fruit (what????). I come about twice a year from San Diego and as San Diego nurseries go, this place is in a league of its own. I even just like walking around in there to relax cause it's almost like a fruit botanical garden. And some of the small stuff is very affordable Highly recommend if you have a few hours free to explore this place. It's a great nursery -- kinda like the Garden of Eden!

When I asked him to honor the original price, he got very rude raised his voice called me a crybaby lol. EDIT: when he saw the review called me a liar and bunch of other things. I told Him his competitors had the same tree if he'd price match. He called them liars as well and said they were cheating people. When I got to the nursery, It look like another mom pops little nursery place from the exterior, but to my surprise, this place appears bigger than the Costco parking lots combined, jammed packed with trees. It can be overwhelming because of the large selections. Every trees appeared to be thriving and healthy, with many already have fruits. The place was big so I was clueless where to begin. Thank God Gio found me. He is so knowledgeable, professional, kind, funny, and has lots of patience to deal with a picky and curious person like me. He takes his time to show me around. I was lucky to try many different selections of fruits, some I can compared to store bought and many I haven't heard of. The fruits you get from the nursery tasted so much different than the store bought one, more fresh and flavorful in my opinions. I ended up buying a couple trees and am looking forward to buy more in the future. Jungle Jack's!! The name alone makes you wanna go. The only difficulty was their hours, as most days they close at 2pm. Luckily we had the perfect opportunity with it being the Valentine Day weekend, I wanted to get my wife something special and we took the whole family up to Jungle Jack's. While it was a little out of the way the drive was certainly worth it, nice to see all parts of San Diego. When we arrived we found some parking and started to walk around. The nursery itself is massive - tons of space with a huge assortment of plants along with a metric ton of Plumeria. My personal favorite aspects were the theme - they didn't shy away from the Jungle aspect of the name. Ended up sitting in some pretty cool Elephant chairs where I met the adorable dog aka: Cowboy. We found everything we were looking for and the staff were not only knowledgable but super friendly. Was such a treat to go out there - our family felt very welcomed. We certainly made some big purchases that day - it felt like it was well worth the investment. Not only with the quality of the plants, but wanting to support the store. Gotta love supporting local businesses. If you are looking for some Plumeria this is certainly a nursery to check out.

This place is a nursery that sells to other nurseries that people buy from. Having said that if you have a business license and a business selling plants this place is absolutely insane they specialize in rare cactus and succulents there really is not another like it and they've been around for over 60 years. In order to make a reservation to come visit call in person and leave a message and they will get back to you explain what it is that exactly you're after if you do show up without calling show up to the office and speak to the owner and worker.
