Hansen installed two HVAC units for us and serviced them over the past six years. We had a semi-annual contract with them and had them repair duct insulation. They are always quick to call to update me on arrival times, and someone is always available when there is any problem. They stand behind their equipment and their pricing is fair. We have since moved from that home and I have called them to install programmable thermostats in our new home. Scheduling an appointment was easy and Emily was very accommodating. The technician made sure I understood how to operate the new units before leaving and his installation was tidy and clean. Always polite and efficient staff. I wish I could give this company negative stars. We bought our house that came with an AC warranty through Hansen. Within 6 months, we were having issues with our upstairs unit keeping cool. We called and they invested, told us we needed to buy $10,000 worth of duct work. We paid for it with their constant reassurance that this would be the fix. Here we are in the dead of summer and the AC is CONSTANTLY running - even at 6am it is ALWAYS minimum 4 degrees too hot. Cannot keep up. We have had them come 4 times to our home, always with the promise it would be fixed. WELL we opened up the closets in our upstairs and there is MOLD covering two of the doors from the lack of proper ventilation around the unit and opening to the attic (where our duct work is). As I am typing this, a technician is back upstairs for our FIFTH visit and has conjured up a new "quick fix" after we have been told to "just bleach the mold off the doors." Needless to say, this has been a nightmare. DO NOT TRUST their google reviews. This company lacks integrity. Their techs are trained to go out to their trucks to pretend to be calling their supervisor for HELP only to come in with a sales pitch. Hansen Super Tech was called out by my tenant in a commercial building plaza for a bad fan blade making noise. Hansen suggested that the unit be replaced. The tenant contacted me to pay the landlord's portion of the replacement. I was suspicious so I sent my tech over to check it out. The unit wiring had all been disconnected so the unit would not work...not even the fan motor to provide the tenant some air movement. Also, Hansen stated that the unit was leaking coolant. They showed the tenant a puddle of coolant next to the unit. When my tech did a pressure check there was no leak. All in all my tech replaced the fan blade, replaced the missing coolant, and reconnected the wiring for $500. The unit is working fine. DO NOT TRUST HANSEN SUPER TECH! read more

We needed a new a/c technician so after checking reviews I submitted a request online to have someone call. I was contacted the next morning to set up an appointment. A representative even called a few days later to let me know an earlier appointment was available and rescheduled me. The technician came out and thoroughly inspected our unit, took care of any issues it had, patiently listened to our concerns and answered our questions, and showed my husband what needed to be repaired and replaced and explained why it was needed. We purchased the maintenance contract that allows for two service appointments in the year, one of which was applied towards today's visit. We are very happy with this experience. read more

If there was a negative star rating I would give it because if this past visit. I have used Hansen for the last few years for service and maintenance but this last contact visit for maintenance and the following repair was a nightmare. The maintenance technician put the float switch back in wrong so the outside unit would not come on. He also said his gauges were reading "funny" so who knows what that meant. The repair tech came the next day and put in coolant (4lbs) and I don't think that amt was legit since the unit only holds 5 total, I think. Come to find out, the pressures that were registering were correct for the type of coolant in my unit so I probably didn't even need any. He changed 2 $.50 cent wires and the bill was over $700. These people are crooks plus they get aggravated when you won't listen to their spiel for a new unit. The unit was working fine until they messed with it. Beware of this company. Beware of being over charged. I had a $1000 water heater installed and they charged $2900. It took Mathew an hour and a half to install the water heater by himself. He did do an excellent job and cleaned up afterwards. No complaints there. I was under duress to get a heater installed since it was Friday and I was facing a weekend with no hot water So I accepted the charge. I expected the heater was $2000 was the reason it was so high, as I had NO written information. They installed a model that Lowes and Home depot sell for $1000. I contacted their management on Monday after I had done an internet search to verify and complained about the $ 1900 charge for 1 1/2 hour work. They blew it off. I asked for a breakdown on charges and they said they dont do that. The receipt I finally got showed "install water heater" $2900. Note: total elapsed time, verified by my security cameras, was 4 1/2 hours (3 hours to go get the heater and lunch break I presume) so their hourly rate is almost $500 per hour, including travel time. read more

Absolutely unconscionable high prices. My older sister's AC stopped cooling and Hansen came out to replace one capacitor which took 45 minutes. The most expensive capacitor I can even find is $22, yet Hansen thought it was fair to charge $383 for one. (Not including trip charge.) Hard to imagine being charged over $300 an hour for labor, but that's what you get with Hansen. Never again. read more

I paid to have my units serviced and there was an issue with a freon leak on one of the units. I told the service man that I had a home warranty and I would call them to take care of it. The warranty company sent someone out 2 days later and the unit in question had leaves and dirt at the bottom. (Not cleaned) Because of the debris and dirt, the warranty company denied my claim. When I contacted Hansen all Chris was willing to do was send someone out to re-clean the units. Definitely won't do business with this company again. read more

This company does NOT back up their installation work even when it's under warranty. We bought a new AC unit 2 years ago with a 10 year warranty. Around the AC, our wood floor is buckling and showing signs of water. My husband crawled under the house and found two joints in the PVC pipe leading from the AC are dripping due to not being sealed properly. There is a puddle under both leaks causing our subfloor to be saturated with water. We had Hansen's team come out and they missed the two active leaks completely. Then we had a manager, Brooks Sellers, come out and my husband crawled under the house with him. The Hansen manger actually asked, "Are the joints glued?". How would be know? Hansen did the installation. The leak is active because the pipe was wiped off and it STARTED DRIPPING AGAIN WITHIN SECONDS! That is a leak! My husband asked for help with the drip and the Hansen manager would Not offer any help, advice or a resolution to the problem!! We were even willing to pay for anything that could help us save our floors. Mr. Sellers just left us with a wet subfloor and a PROBLEM HASENS INSTALLATION CAUSED. Do NOT use Hansen. We were sold two units. We began having trouble immediately with our upstairs unit. They came out three times and just changed the thermostat (which had water in it). They keep telling us it was our ducts. They were old and needed to be changed. Turned out one of their people had stepped on the drain pipe and broke it and water was trickling down the wall. This led to our ceiling falling in the entire time we kept saying somethings wrong. We need to speak to a manager. That was never allowed. We finally got someone out there to see the devastation. They sent out someone from their "repair" division. Why you have that is another discussion. They weren't sent out until they finished. They were here for an hour or two here and there. One full day maybe twice. This was one older man and a teen. He did a crappy job. I could've done better. The paint didn't match. There were globs of Sheetrock mud everywhere. They scratched the floor such that it had to be replaced. Finally Brooks from Hansen came out and said we could find another contractor or they would. We found one who came out and diced everything within a week. We had been dealing with this for over two months. Now we have been issued a lawsuit because Hansen is refusing to pay the other contractor. Brooks stood in my house and agreed to everything. This is a sleazy, disgusting company. I have used the A/C and electrical divisions several time with no real problems on the service. However, they just came out recently to solve an electrical problem on one of my rental units and had it resolved in just a couple of hours. But wait, then I received the bill and saw that I was charged $81.00 for a "Basic Device Replacement", which was explained by the Office as a duplex,(wall plug). Lowe's has real nice ones for $2.59. I have called to lodge a complaint to Management but so far all I hear is "Crickets"! read more

I wish I would have done more research before hiring Hanson to install my parents generator. I went with Hanson because of the commercials and nothing else. The install was problematic from day one, just dealing with the permits and Ashley in the office. The power went out a week after the installation. The generator didn't turn on! spent the night in the dark. Hanson sent a guy out, he said it was a loose battery connection. The following week it failed the monthly test. Hanson sent another guy, this time they said It was a bad battery from the factory. I feel like once it's in the ground, you are kind of on your own when it comes to after care. I work from home and I was actively on the phone with clients and two workers were arguing, cursing and yelling at each other and I had to intervene and remind them I was on the phone. Since then, every time they come to do my regular maintenance, they try to hard sell me on something additional I don't need and are quite aggressive about it. On Saturday 8/10/24, my AC quit working. I called them at 4 PM requesting service. I was told by their answering service that I would get a call back. It is Monday 8/12 at 10 am and I still haven't heard from them. I called to find out what the problem is. They said they have the record of my call and she would have a technician call me. No apology. Of course since it's Mobile, AL and 100+ degrees, I had already called another company on Saturday when the problem occurred (Surfside) had an immediate return phone call and a technician at my house in 30 minutes. I called in response to a Facebook Ad. They Customer Service rep was a very sweet person. She was unable to get me scheduled under the special offering but got me a service call for the same day. I reported vent leaks that took out one of my ceiling tiles. I was told that they could do a free vent analysis when they got there to inspect. I paid a $25 dollar fee and hung up on good terms. My stress subsided, and as a customer, I felt good about my decision. Well, fast forward to an hour and a half later. I get a call from a different rep stating that "Unfortunately, we are unable to come out because you reported prior damage, so that will be a liability for us." I've never heard a more confusing and frustrating response from a CS rep in my entire life. I asked why it was a liability and that if they needed me to I'll sign a waiver. Her response was, "I'm sorry, but we don't do waivers. My manager has already said no." I just kept asking why and reiterating that I have an AC emergency this could be bigger than the one leak. Just puts me on hold twice, then I get the manager. I simply ask her, "Can you help me understand why there is a liability?" She explained to me that you're a new customer, we have to protect ourselves and brought up the waiver. Okay I understand that cause I do underwriting work, so I asked her why she is all of a sudden okay with a waiver if her rep originally told me there was no waiver. I work in entertainment and often times your greatest need can be the trojan horse that knocks down your clay wall, right? She got frustrated with me and kept saying that she would do it, but she wouldn't answer my question, and I explained why and told her that I'll sign a waiver, but I want it understood that if I sign this waiver it's not going to include work you do or issues I have prior to inspection later on because then that doesn't protect me you get paid then I'm out more money I don't have any AC and poor health. I didn't bring up my wife, but she has a liver issue and no working AC means if it's outside its inside and her immune system is shot. The manager got emotionally offended like I was attacking her person, and replied, "Well ,since you don't seem to be (stumbled words) understanding of (beat) we're a business then I just don't...at this point I don't feel it's safe for us to come out there to your address, and (beat) we shouldn't...I don't think this is going to work." For a $1000.00 I will host a customer service seminar to your entire staff that will teach them how to effectively communicate without emtions involved on such a level that even the worst person not sincerely trying to get their AC fixed will affect their feelings. I'm beyond astonished, in the bad way, that FOR ONE: This company doesn't have waivers built into their infastructure, TWO: That somehow being a new customer somehow makes me a risk to their bottom line, that my damaged cieling tile is going to reflect their AC work. Like come on lady...really. What does my cieling tile have to do with your technicians working on my AC? What?! Isn't that the point of a Heating & Air Company? THIRD: I'm glad this didn't work out because she still never answered to me why she was so giddy about the waiver that I brought up. Which makes me feel like I was about to get the worst visit ever, highly over charged, and ghosted. And from the look of these piss poor reveiws from other customers I was right to trust that faculty that told me that something didn't add up. I was rude at the end, but I just can't stand those who A, can't control their own emotions, and B, who look to take advantage of a bad situation. I really put my trust in this call because I had a real problem. I liked their ad, but from a business owners perspective this companies ad copy and prerecorded messages that preach to have your back is a farse. This company as infastructure issues, denotes new customers under risk management assessments, they offer no unique USP, and I can't image their CLV count is impressive enough to stand out passed they chose a business that currently is always going to be an economoic comodety. My only good experience was that was sweet Customer Service Rep who was more professional than the manager who couldn't evern compose herself long enough to answer a question. Walmart treats their customers like criminals too. Continue to do so to new customers and see how far Hansen's get in a decade or so. I do not reccomend this company service in area in my neighborhood in Biloxi and if that hurts the techs, then they should look for work in their own damn state or find a better job who's reputation is founded on good customer relations, communication, transparency, and quality work. Call for a service on a Friday night, service call charge fair, $50 dollars, top off R-22 for unit $1249 dollars, that would be well over double what a Reputable HVAC company would charge, refundable of course with the purchase of a new $12,800 replacement HVAC system. also twice the bid of a reputable HVAC company. The other option was to repair the existing unit for over 10K. I have used Hansen in the past and felt I was being treated fair. Hansen HVAC installed our HVAC in our newly built home in 2020. A couple of weeks ago during routine preventative maintenance the tech found a refrigerant leak in one of the air handlers. He said the defective coil was covered under warrantee but the labor to replace was $2K. I flipped out. Asked the tech how long to fix and he said 3 hours. I asked how much an hour and he said $80. I said ok, so we're up to $240, what's the rest? He said , um, there will be a torch charge. I asked how much - he didn't know. I said what else? He said, um, we're going to need to re-fill the refrigerant. How much? About $500. I said so now we're up to about $750. What's the rest. He said I don't know. That's what my boss quoted. I told him to forget it. I sent an email expressing my displeasure to Hansen. DID NOT GET A RESPONSE. So yesterday another HVAC contractor did the repair. $400. I called Hansen and asked for an owner or manager to give them a piece of my mind. The receptionist would not connect me and said she'd give them my message. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN A RESPONSE. Our unit was 2 pounds low on refrigerant, and they never performed a leak test to determine where it was actually leaking from, they just said that the coil was leaking in my attic, and if they charged my unit it would all just leak right back out. But they did tell me if I wanted to charge it, the price would be $700 plus labor. My business requested a technician to come out and check my air conditioner unit to see why it wasn't working. When the guy came out, he told me he wouldn't charge me to look at it. Then he told me it would cost $1,950 to fix but it was no guarantee that it would work, I should just replace the entire unit. He then started going back and forth to his car, eventually replacing only the thermostat, that I didn't ask to be replaced, and charging me $340.00. I asked him if he needed to go outside to look at the unit and he said no, I don't need to go outside. They charged me $340 and my AC still didn't work after him leaving. Someone else came to my business, recommended an independent technician and they came out and actually fixed my unit! I had a line unplugged and had the technician from Hansen went outside, he would have noticed it instead of trying to get me to buy a whole new ac unit. Is in the van for 45 minutes. Comes back, and calls his boss and they discuss in front of me options. I immediately felt like I was at a car dealer. They did the tag team on me to sell me a new AC. How they can help me and install today! They tried to add on ventilation sealing and cleaning too. Before you know it, I am up to $17,200. They say they can not do the duct work and get me down to $11.700. $4500 for duct work? What a scam. Anywhere else would do it for $1000. I checked. My air conditioner has been out of service for more than a week. Hansen quoted an all inclusive price to replace the system. The home warranty company has been ready to move forward but needed the quote broken down into four categories. Materials, Labor, permit fee, and taxes. Hansen said they would provide the information requested. After six days and four follow-up phone calls asking for help getting the simple details I gave up waiting for Hansen and went to another air conditioning company who is happy to provide the detail I need to get my air-conditioning system working again. The tech was nice and seemed to be knowledgeable, but I do not recommend this company. I was told that I needed to get a new unit, and I agree since the one we have was manufactured in 2004. I'm actually scheduled to get one installed by another company. I asked if there was a way to get my air on until a new one could be installed and was told no. Then, we received an outrageous estimate for a new unit, which prompted me to get a second opinion. Once the other company made it, they had my air back on in less than 5 min. The price the other company is charging is half of what we were quoted by Hansen for a whole new unit. Since they are installing our new unit, they did not charge us a penny for coming out to get our unit back on so we aren't sitting in a hot house until our new one is installed. Hansen offered none of this. They just quoted prices for what they say was broken, and the new unit and stated there was no bandaid until the new unit is installed to get my air running which was odd due to the other company having it up and running in less than 5 min. read more

Hansen does the job well. However they way overcharge for parts and service. I was charged $365 for a $25 part and less than 30 minutes of service (it took about 15 minutes to replace the part) I will be looking for a different company to call next time I need HVAC service. This is the second time they way overcharge. Last time they installed a new thermostat. The part costs $50 at Lowe's and they charged $200 the job took about 30 minutes but they charged for an hour. They installed a heat pump thermostat and I do not have a heat pump. Their $25 service fee is deceptive since they tack on another $70 if they do anything except look. That's $95 for a service charge for under 30 minutes. Very unreasonable. Find a different company. read more

Affordable Pumbers told me that because I had never used their services before I did not "qualify " for after hours service beacause I am not a VIP. This is a really bad marketing tool to attract new customers. Their site says open 24/7 but that is only if you are a VIP. What a rip off. So I called HANSEN around 7:00. They were at my house approx 1 hour later and done with the job within 30 miuntes. They did exactly what was expected. I paid exactly what I was quoted over the phone.
