You know it's good because it's always busy. We stayed at a AirBnB house just 2 doors down which made it super convenient to eat at Redneck. I hope we get to do the same again next year and years to come.

It was a beautiful, warm day so we decided to dine outdoors on their patio. Early on in the meal, it began to get brighter with the sun beating down on us, so our waitress was kind enough to set up a large umbrella to shield us from the intense sunshine. By the way, we had the best waitress ever here- I believe her name was Carrie. OMG- she was so funny and quickwitted. She did an amazing job waiting on our large party of 7. The menu had many options and pretty much had something for everyone. There were salads, burgers and so many other options. I chose the Mexi Bowl. Okay, this was next-level good! Every component of the bowl was spot on. Everything harmonized so well together. It was Mexican rice, black beans, diced tomatoes, grilled peppers and onions. I opted for the pulled pork and it was finished off with chipotle mayo and sour cream. It was sooo delicious! These were the best grilled onions and peppers. They were delicately diced and the peppers and purple onions were perfectly caramelized. You could not have asked for a more perfect Mexi Bowl. Being from Texas, I was impressed with the fresh ingredients and how it totally gave me Mexican-vibes. Great job! Throughout lunch service all the outdoor table filled up on a Monday, so that totally tell you how busy this place can get- but not surprising. The food here was great and to forgot to mention how delicious my citrus beverage was (I think it was lemonade, pineapple and soda water). Overall, Redneck Bistro was a true delight. Every aspect of my visit exceeded my expectations. Definitely make your way here if you're in the Greater Madawaska area for an excellent meal and experience!

Menu prices were a bit on the high side especially since posted prices did not include taxes! We ordered 3 regular burgers (no cheese or bacon), a large poutine, large fries and 3 drinks and our tab was close to $50! I had to veto the ice cream dessert! The burgers definitely tasted home made - a bit on the drier side but they were generous with the toppings so that made up for it. There's a nice outdoor seating area to eat in. Staff are very friendly and offered things like extra napkins and paper plates to divide up our meal. They let us use the indoor bathroom for our little guy instead of the dark and scary outhouse! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area for a meal you don't have to cook yourself!

Picnic tables to eat outside, if the weather is good. Alongside Eels' Creek in North Kawartha, village of Apsley across the creek. Staff: Friendly, in a city-folk way. Food: Chip-truck fare a la carte. Salad, burgers, hot-dogs, chicken-on-a-bun, fries, poutine, canned soft-drinks. Be prepared to wait, check out the tourist curio shop. Fries are inconsistent; either overcooked or kept under a heat lamp too long. Prices: Very high for this area, don't forget to add 13%HST to whatever you order. Bacon burger, fries, and soft-drink $21.00 after taxes. Tip: Plastic cup for your spare change, at these prices thy want your change?
