Personally, I have never had a male boudoir photographer and decided to give Mark a try. I recently had surgery and this was my first boudoir shoot after recovery, so this was a special occasion! Booking and completing the online consultation was easy. I had the advantage of already being familiar with boudoir, but for anyone who is hesitant to try for whatever reason, the virtual consult is sure to put your nerves at ease. My first impression of Mark was that he is very professional and respectful. You can tell that his mission is clear and he wants his clients to have full control over what they want out of boudoir. Everything was explained clearly and I was left with zero questions. On the date of the shoot, I was able to find Mark's studio with ease. There is ample parking as it is in a neighborhood, and the unit itself is located in a gated condo community. He came down to greet me. Upon entering the unit, I was greeted by his makeup artist and she got straight to work while Mark went upstairs to give us privacy. Both Mark and the artist made me feel very comfortable and, bonus points -gave me deejay power. The makeup artist was very flexible and didn't ask a slew of questions when I told her that I didn't have any expectations. I don't own a lot of makeup and wearing it is even more rare, so it was a nice change of pace to have someone truly use my face as a canvas. I am super pleased with the results and was able to wear it to dinner that same night! As for the shoot itself, Mark conveyed his instructions well while considering what I wanted from the shoot. At no point did I feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or insecure. He encouraged taking my time and didn't force me to do anything that I didn't want to do or was physically incapable of doing because holy cow -boudoir is a workout. Anyway, it took a little while for photo editing but it was worth the wait! An additional appointment was required for the reveal, and it was very challenging to pick my favorites since Mark did an amazing job. As for payment, Mark was super patient and understanding with me despite a few financual curveballs. Once paid in full, I received my boudoir photos, elegantly displayed in a photo album. The extra goodies (chocolate and a yeti cup) lends a luxurious feel, all packaged in a gift bag. Everything was so well done! I am pleased to report that the entire process from start to finish was effortless, and I highly recommend Dream In Blue Photography!

Stepping out of My Comfort Zone This year I took a big step…read moreoutside of my comfort zone and signed up to do boudoir pictures. I've thought about it for years but never really had the opportunity. Last year, a friend of mine did it with Darci Admundson Photography and she recommended me to do it this year. So I went ahead and signed up to be one of her Boudoir Beauties. I was nervous about it, but with an open mind and a sick sense of humor, I managed to get through the photo shoot. I walked in to Darci's studio not sure what to expect. I sat down for makeup and hair, had a glass of wine, took a few deep breaths and relaxed. Darci was always professional, very open and really helped calm my nerves about the whole thing. I'm not much of a self conscious person, especially when it comes to people seeing me mostly naked (having kids will do that to you), but for some reason this one had my nerves rattled. Once we had the outfits picked out and got started, my nerves were gone. It was actually a lot of fun and I kept Darci on her toes with my random comments about underwear going up by butt. That had to be the most uncomfortable thing for me. But, it was temporary and the pictures were worth it. The next big step was actually seeing the pictures. I don't like pictures of myself (who does) but as I sat and watched these photos scroll across the big screen TV in her studio I was shocked at how beautiful they were. I couldn't believe that was ME in those pictures. It made me feel great to see how Darci captured a side of myself I thought I didn't have any more. I was sexy, I was sultry, I was even pretty darn gorgeous. The one thing I love about these pictures is they are so unlike many of the boudoir pictures you see from other photographers. Most of which are just glamour shots in lingerie. Darci is so talented in this art form. She is dedicated to helping women feel great about themselves, their sensuality, and empowering individuals through a wonderful experience. It felt like I was getting the princess treatment between having my hair and makeup done, and getting to choose from the beautiful client lingerie collection. Once it was time for the photoshoot to begin, Mina was great at showing me how to pose, and made sure to fix my hair or pose so she could get the best pictures possible.
