Hannah is absolutely amazing!! Not only is she the sweetest human, she is fantastic at creating stunning dresses. You can tell she loves her what she does. From the beginning she was easy work with. I inquired about my wedding dress late one evening and she responded within the hour. In less than 48 hours she had a beautiful drawing of what I imagined for my dress. I asked for a two in one style dress where a long ceremony skirt was laid over a short reception dress. After we finalized the design (only one minor revision needed), we set up a time to get my measurements. I happened to have a trip scheduled to Omaha a few weekends later and she was able to see me on a Saturday. We chatted about fabrics and laces prior to the appointment. She had several samples laid out for me to choose from when I got there. A few weeks later she reached out to set up a fitting. I really wasn't expecting my dress to be as far along as it was - I was so surprised (in a good way)!! The dress was everything I imagined. The dress was held together by pins so changes could be made as needed. We made some adjustments like strap length to better hold my chest. We also adjusted the length of the reception, it originally felt too long to me. We also decided to add horse hair to the hem to fluff it up and give it volume. Best decision!! I was hesitant first, but truly made the dress even better! A few weeks later we set up an appointment for the final fitting/ pick up. Overall, Hannah made the process so easy. I reached out to here sometime in December and had my first fitting mid January. I picked up the dress mid June for my September wedding. Custom was definitely the way to go! Not only did I get my dress in six months (dresses from stores typically take nine months from the time you order, not including alterations), I also avoided paying tariffs as I heard many brides are around that time had to since most dresses are imported from out of the country. For being a custom dress, it truly was affordable and the alterations were included. On the day of the wedding, I got so many compliments on my wedding dress, and the crowd went wild when I removed the ceremony skirt for the reception. I had an incredible experience designing and purchasing my custom dress from Hannah. As a plus-size bride trying to buy a wedding dress during a global pandemic in a small city in the Florida panhandle, to say I was discouraged was an understatement. I did not want to go through the process of trying on dresses in a store for safety reasons as well as because I didn't want to feel bad about my body from trying on dresses that didn't fit me. Plus, the bridal boutiques in my area don't really cater to my style. I like a little more whimsical and alternative styles than Southern boutiques typically carry. I was hunting around online after already purchasing multiple simple dresses from Torrid and Baltic Born that I was trying to love when I stumbled across a video someone made on YouTube trying on some of Hannah's dresses. I knew I wanted something covered in stars, and this person tried on a dress with little stars and moons all over it. I immediately went to Hannah's website and started perusing. I started chatting with Hannah through her website about customizing her stargazer gown--adding sleeves, changing the neckline, etc. I sent her some photos of other dresses I liked with bigger stars, and she offered to get that same fabric! It was a dream come true. It was such an amazing experience to get to design the dress from scratch with Hannah. It was so fun and makes the dress even more special. She communicates with her customers over email and through chat so quickly and professionally. We were even able to take my measurements through a video call. Everything was done virtually, and the dress was perfect and fit like a glove. The day the dress arrived in the mail I was speechless. It was so comfortable on my wedding day, and I felt so magical and beautiful. I changed into shorter shoes, and even though I was stepping on my dress and dragging it on the ground, it did not rip. Working with Hannah on my wedding dress was an absolute dream. I had really struggled to find a dress that had most of the things that I was looking for, and when I approached Hannah, she immediately understood my vision, shared my excitement, and was able to work within my budget. When the pandemic made it hard for us to meet, she worked with me all year to give me updates, and took extra precautions so I could still get my fittings done. The dress itself is a work of art - I was very particular about the ivory linen fabric with golden sheen, the a-line silhouette, and the deep v-neck with a u-back. I cannot stress enough how incredibly understanding, professional, compassionate and immensely talented she is. She even helped me brainstorm some COVID procedures, and connected me to wedding planning resources that were absolutely invaluable this year. Book her. Pay her. She's a goddess and you absolutely won't regret it. It was my husband's idea that I reach out to Hannah Olson​ about making a dress for a black tie event we have coming up next month. I dreaded the shopping experience, and knew I would have to block off literally a whole day to find just the right dress. It's such a discouraging blow to the ego to have problems finding a dress that fits, so I thought it sounded like an excellent idea. I reached out to her on a Monday, and she responded immediately. I sent her some Pinterest images of what I liked and she sent me a sketch of what it could look like all put together. We met at the fabric store that night. She sent me pictures of the progress in the next day or two. I had feedback for her along the way, and she listened and was glad to take things in the direction I wanted. If you are a plus size woman then you know how difficult it can be to find your style in your size. Especially with wedding dresses! I choose Hannah to make my custom dress because my best friend Laura told me about how she made custom dresses for plus size women. I looked at her dresses online and fell in love with Hannah's style and talent! Hannah was so kind, professional, and accommodating. I lived a state away so Hannah helped arranged a video chat to take my measurements. It was the most wonderful experience I've ever had as a size 24/26 woman having my measurements taken. We talked about the design of my dress and when the wedding would be. Her insight, suggestions, and experience not only gave me a beautiful dress but a comfortable dress! I went to my first and only fitting because my dress fit like a glove the first time! Amazing!! The dress was exactly what I wanted. I felt the most beautiful I ever have on our wedding day. I absolutely loved working with Hannah in preparation for my wedding. I couldn't afford to get an entirely custom gown from her, but it was really important that I have a local business make some part of my wedding outfit, and she made an incredible cape! Even though I got my gown elsewhere, she helped me find a cape design that would look great with it and really made me feel like a superstar on my wedding day. Hannah was also so pleasant to work with. We were able to find appointment times that worked with both our busy schedules and she made sure my cape was done in plenty of time before the big day. The cape was truly my favorite accessory that day. The professional shots from my wedding aren't back yet, but here are a few quick snapshots so you can see how it lays, and a couple detail shots. My camera can't do it justice! Even if you don't want a full gown, her accessories are so wonderful and so much better than what you would find on Amazon or even Etsy.
