I've gone in several times to see food and drink spilled on her clothes when she was able to feed herself. We pay a lot of money for mediocre care. Also, my husband was having his mom sign some paperwork and a nurse (Dawn) asks what it was. (Not really her business) and when he made a smart comment, she proceeded to call other family members accusing him of doing something illegal?? THEN the business office says they are reporting him for elder abuse?? He is there daily to feed and visit his mother and is her POA. This is completely unacceptable and adds more stress to a family already dealing seeing their mom declining. This is not what long term care should be like. I would recommend Bethany Village. I've have good experiences at that facility.

She was seen for bladder cancer. She was told to have chemo and then had her bladder removed. She ended up having lots of complications like a blockage but now she's mostly in pain where the incision is. They said she was a good candidate for a neo bladder where the make your intestine into a bladder and she would have control over it. That's never happened. She's never had any control over it. We are going to try and see if there is anything that can be done by another physician. I think she'd need to get another operation with the bag. It's been brutal since 2022. Cancer really sucks. Then she had skin cancer on her nose and a false alarm for breast cancer. Check yourselves. If you are bleeding when you pee, it's a sign.

First off a lot of my favorite doctors, the ones that delivered my children and saw year after year have left. Yes, that's bound to happen, but it seemed to happen all at once and there must be a reason why. One of the most drastic changes they made is switching births from Women's and Babies to The Heart of Lancaster. With this switch also means that all their testing, procedures, etc. are also done at the Heart of Lancaster - a hospital I feel is subpar compared to the size, locations, convenience, and number of services offered by Lancaster General. Sometimes bigger is better and in the case of these two hospitals and services Lancaster General is the better choice but you won't get to use them here. In the past years they also moved from familiar, convenient locations to off the beaten trail areas. Gone is the original location on Columbia Ave, as well as the one at the Health Campus, although they do have an office on Noll Dr but not all of the doctors will see patients there. Lititz and Elizabethtown is also out of the way for me but every time I schedule an appt I end up at one of those two because my doctor won't step foot in the Lancaster location. The biggest and most important piece of advice I can offer a newbie is to BUY A CALENDAR. YOUR care will be in YOUR hands with this practice. YOU must remember to call them yearly for a mammogram order or to schedule a pap, YOU must call them for test results (bad ones also!), everything is on YOU! I have experienced this first hand with some rather potentially serious health issues that I was the one following up, demanding repeat testings', researching, and finally seeking the opinion of another health care professional because frankly I felt like my situation fell through the cracks. Also be prepared for cut corners, annuals that don't include paps, test results that they can easily give you over the phone but try to squeeze another copay out of you, and miscoding billing. I hate to say it but OGYN is no longer Lancaster's go-to for feminine care.
