Just a little of their "back" story... After their initial diagnosis their first doctor encouraged nonstop use of back braces. Being teenaged girls, shortly after agreeing to get onboard with that treatment they became very self conscious. They didn't want people to notice them wearing their braces. Even with constant wearing their condition hadn't improved and actually began to worsen. The search for another orthopedic specialist was on. This very experienced Doctor they found initialized weekly physical therapy sessions. The severity of their curvatures were actually stabilized but there still weren't any improvements. Being told that surgery was their only hope, their mother knew she had to find an alternative because she didn't want to put them thru the intense pain and recovery that follows corrective spinal surgery. I can't remember how exactly but she found out about the ScoliSmart clinics and all that it entailed. She was extremely hopeful for a similar outcome when she heard his former patients share their stories. They went through great lengths and numerous fundraisers to afford the journey from Georgia to Pennsylvania for treatment. Like many of the other patients I met while undergoing Dr. Clayton Stitzel's two week scoliosis…read morerehab treatment, I came to the Lancaster Spinal Health Center as a last resort. Traditional Orthopedics that I had been seeing offered no solutions to help decrease my scoliosis severity and Dr. Stitzel assured that through intense rehabilitation and hard work, it would be possible to treat my case of scoliosis. Unfortunately, after two weeks of painful exercises and long days of rehab, followed by six months of at home training, my spine showed no signs of improvement. After the two weeks of rehab, Dr. Stitzel took X-Rays and declared "Mission Success" having reduced my scoliosis by over 13 degrees using the Cobb Angles Method. I was very excited by the news, but wanted to have the results verified by an unbiased party. Less than a week after returning from Lititz, PA I saw an Orthopedic with Dr. Stitzel's X-rays and asked him to verify the findings. He immediately found faults with the angles drawn by Stitzel and drew angles of his own which showed my spine had not gotten any better, if anything it had gotten slightly worse. Not to be discouraged, I continued the at home exercises for the following six months and then saw a different Orthopedic doctor, telling him nothing about my past history. He found my scoliosis angle to be what it had been from the beginning, in the high thirties. I contacted a fellow patient of mine with concern who was undergoing a two week Stitzel rehab course at the same time as me, and she had similar results after six months of at home therapy. Clayton Stitzel will convince you that he has knowledge that Orthopedics lack or refuse to agree with. Please ask yourself before seeing this Chiropractor(who does not have the same rigorous training and regulations as a Medical Professional), What reason would trained medical professionals that spend their entire career working to help patients have to gain by not offering these services? If there was a treatment to help treat scoliosis, the Clear Institute would not be the ones to offer it. They are however, the only ones willing to profit off of others suffering. I have all X-Rays to back up this Review of Lancaster Spinal Health center and would urge all prospective patients to not waste time, money, hope and pain on Dr. Stitzel's malpractice. For reference, I am a male in my young twenties with thoracic and lumber scoliosis.

When you spine is misaligned you can have trouble with any body system depending on which part of your spine is subluxated. My explanation of benefits online updated to say that UPMC had paid, and when I called Mindy she said they never received payment. I emailed her a copy of the statement from UPMC and she never responded. I called back twice more to address the issue, and she said she was too busy to get to it. This chiropractor is corrupt, double-charging clients, and *not* worth your time. Normally I don't leave negative reviews online, but if I could go back and tell myself what I know about this business now, I would never have gone. Stay far away!
