I had a very "Pretty Woman" moment in WHBM. I entered the store on a rainy evening when not a…read moresingle customer was in the store, yet still managed to receive minimal to no assistance. I was on the prowl for a dress. I had ordered a dress online, which of course didn't arrive until the day before a gala I was attending, and also didn't fit. The stress... On a whim, I stopped into WHBM and was practically to the register before anyone acknowledged me. One staff member addressed me, asked what I was looking for, and quickly handed me off to another sales person behind the register who refused to even look at me. The two then disappeared through a door to the stock room. Umm, what? I was in workout clothes and my hair was in a bun, so I wondered if they had judged me for that then remembered how ridiculous it would be for them to dismiss me because of that. For the record, I happen to have worked retail for years and know from experience that you never know which customer is going to drop some serious dough. I took a quick look around and saw a dress that caught my eye, but decided not to even try it on. I've made it a rule not to make purchases when I receive bad customer service, which has left me leaving quite a few Saddle Creek stores without bags, but that's another story for another day. This had been my favorite clothing store for many years. I live near the Germantown, TN location,…read moreand I loved the fact that they had petites and misses in the same building(I am in between) My husband has been buying me a fairly hefty gift card to Talbots for Christmas for years, and I've enjoyed using it throughout the year. I've noticed that in recent years the quality and styles have, in my opinion, gone downhill. What they call their "Oprah Collection" has been especially tacky...nothing like what I think Oprah would wear. Right before the stores closed due to the Corona virus, I bought a couple of things in the Germantown store using my card. Without my knowledge or permission, the sales person converted my gift card to a "store credit." I didn't realize this had happened until I tried to buy something online after all the stores were closed, and was told I had a zero balance on my gift card, which should still have had $650.00 +. After an hour and a half chatting online, I found I could not use the credit online. The person helping me finally agreed to issue a new gift card. I went to the Germantown store recently, and when I started to make a purchase using the card the sales person again wanted to convert my card to a merchandise credit. Unfortunately, I also had a disagreement with the sales person about our feelings about the Corona virus and she behaved in an extremely rude manner to me. I won't go back to the Germantown, TN, store, and I'm telling my husband not to buy me another Talbots card.

My kids and I both love the clothing selections and they have Vans shoes that you cannot find anywhere else, even on the Vans website. They also have a hodgepodge of various other items like stickers, air fresheners, fake gold jewelry, etc. They sell skateboards and skateboard parts as well. One of my favorite T-shirts' came from here. It embarrasses my wife when I wear it because I get so many compliments on it and it says SEX! Ha. I'm not sure why it embarrasses her. It's a hell of a life mantra I think. In fact, if you can live the life of that T-shirt I'd say you would be doing quite well. I'll continue to stop in every time I visit the mall. Long live Zumies!!

I always find cute sandals, crocs or tennis shoes for my daughters at Rack Room, and will spend a good chunk of time gazing over the sale merchandise. Both of my daughters are so obsessed with shoes that I believe I might be raising a couple of mini Carrie Bradshaws. Seriously, their first words were Dada, Momma and shoes. Being able to find bargains for these two is a great feat. I usually find a couple of cute pairs for myself at reasonable prices, and have confidence that they will last a while. I am still wearing a pair of cowboy boots that I bought about a decade ago, so the quality is really great. Stylish, but not too trendy, Rack Room is a fave with me and my girls.

I also love this location because there are so many other shopping choices in the same location, including regular Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Gap, J Crew, White House Black Market...it's a pretty safe bet if you HAVE to find something quickly that you can find SOMETHING in that little section of Saddle Creek.
