The handyman arrived on time, was very professional, and even removed his shoes before entering the house. He walked through each bathroom with me and confirmed the work he would be performing. He worked quietly and very efficiently, and he cleaned up thoroughly after each job. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the work and the overall experience. A lifesaver when you need someone you can truly trust!…read more I was home visiting my parents who live in Evanston and ran into a lighting and electrical issue I wasn't comfortable handling myself. I turned to Yelp -- and thankfully, it led me straight to the right person. Pat from AnyFix came out promptly and quickly diagnosed a short that had knocked out my parents' porch light -- something that could've been a real safety issue, especially since my dad has trouble seeing in the dark. Pat was not only knowledgeable and efficient, but also incredibly kind, honest, and professional. He explained what he was doing every step of the way, fixed the issue perfectly, and made sure everything was safe before leaving. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping people, not just getting the job done. I'll definitely be keeping his number on speed dial for any future repairs. If you want someone who's dependable, personable, and knows their craft inside and out -- call Pat at AnyFix. You'll be glad you did.

To me, his number one goal is to deliver a quality product without cutting corners. He is adept with his communication and listening skills. He is very clean, he partitions his work area with plastic sheeting, not allowing dust to spread throughout your home. He cleans up every evening prior to going home. Luis successfully bade and completed two very complex jobs on time and on budget. Job 1: Remove exterior door, concert landing, replace 2 sheets of exterior siding, frame and insulate the existing opening. Hang drywall to the interior seamlessly matching the existing walls and paint. Conclusion: Luis completed the job in 3 days. Viewing the interior and exterior of my home, you'd never know an exterior door existed at the previous location. All remnants of the landing were gone. Job 2: Luis expertly hand painted (two coats) my 2000 sq ft home and elongated 2 car garage. He was very detail oriented, painting the house, trim and doors. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give Mr. Luis Lopez Handyman a solid 10 for the 2 different jobs he completed for me.

I don't know why I ever bothered contacting anyone else for handyman services…read more Michael has come up more than once when someone in the neighborhood Facebook group has been seeking a handyman. It was my fault that I didn't go with him from the get-go. I had experiences with two others that were terrible: The first one installed a couple things that were falling out by the time he left, and the second one apparently doesn't need business because he didn't respond to me for over 10 days after coming to take a look at what I needed. But anyway, this review is about the AWESOMENESS that is Michael! He responded within a day of my contacting him, which was a great place to start. He asked me to let him know what I needed and set up a time within a week or so. Then he contacted me to let me know he'd had a cancellation and could come three days earlier if I wanted! Yes please!! Michael is so personable. I liked him from the moment I opened the door, literally. One of the first things he said to me was "Can I tell you something about this door?" Apparently he has lots of customers who don't realize their storm doors have a screen and wanted to show me (I already knew though!). The most important task I had for him on this visit was to reattach the handrail that had been removed by some movers, and which had before they removed it been loose and coming out of the wall. That handrail is now rock solid. I honestly think I could hang from it (and I'm not a small gal) and it would not budge. He patched the drywall from where it had been coming out of the wall, and then he checked the remaining four or five handrails in the house to make sure they are equally as strong. He also gave tips on some filters for the furnace, and suggestions for smoke detectors--which was very timely, because I had been researching them before he visited. He's not inexpensive but he's worth every darn penny. I won't ever use another handyman whilst I live here, and I'm already feeling sad in my heart that if/when we do move, it'll probably be to a near suburb or outlying neighborhood like Norwood Park that he doesn't service and I'm mourning the loss of this awesome dude as my go-to handymensch.

All in an hour. It was a tremendous value for the money. I can't recommend Michael enough.
