Really happy with the outcome! We wanted to turn our garage into a gym/storage space but it was in it's original 1969 state. I had a few people come out for guidance on next steps and a GC was the best route before finishing the project. Contacted Robin who was prompt with a walkthrough, personable and got me a quote the next day. We decided on tearing down most of the walls, insulating them, replacing a door, reframaing the roof and drywalling/painting the entire garage. Also added recessed lighting and some other features. Robin was super easy to work with, is very accesible via text/call and his team did a great job. The work is solid and would definitly use his services again for future projects. read more

Robin and the crew were amazing! Work got done in a timely manner, professional and considerate to my needs. Thanks Arian! Highly recommend.

Very happy with the work done by Robin and his crew. We had our fireplace remodeled and they made our vision come to life. We had stacked stone from floor to ceiling, a mantel and wine cooler installed and our tv mounted. They worked with our schedule and budget. I highly recommend the Handyman and will be contacting them for future projects. read more

I contacted Robin about having a couple of thresholds installed and a ceiling light that is 18 feet high replaced. He was quick to respond and after I sent him photos of what needed to be done he gave me a quote that I thought was fair and I asked him to put me in his schedule. About a week later he contacted me and we made arrangements for someone to come out the next day. His people arrived and got right to work, everything was completed to me and my wife's satisfaction. I will definitely use them again. read more

I had a really hard time getting anyone to commit to hanging an enormous 57x97 inch mirror for me. I called and left messages everywhere and no response from anyone. When I called Handyman Robin he actually answered his phone, gave me information and followed up with me later ! I was further amazed that in short noticed he booked an appointment for me to hang this huge mirror that was just sitting on my living floor. I can't say enough about companies that follow through and are just dependable and honest. The crew that came out was very professional and did a really clean job. Thank you handyman! I will continue to work with this company and will recommend them to everyone I know. read more

Job was not completed and communication between robin and Dan were never on the same page with scope of work and was changed extra because of poor communication between them. My cabinet trim they installed has been falling apart base board installed incorrectly. I honestly felt like I was over charged especially when I provided 99% of material. They do a nice custom side panel for my bar I would say. read more

Update is in response to Robin's reply to my review. Yes this was my mothers home that was being remodeled, but that should not excuse the unprofessional work and people. Yes I did have get into an argument with his employee/foreman Dan, words were exchanged from both sides. This argument was due to his sloppy work and lack of communication about the decisions being made on the kitchen. As far as me needing to supervise my child, if you are going to do work in part of a home it is pretty standard for you to mask off the work area. You don't just leave the area open for all to walk through freely. Also one of the several live electrical outlets left hanging out of the wall was actually in our living room and not in the kitchen that was the work area. So regardless if I kept my child out of the "work area" your employees still left a live outlet hanging out of the wall in a non-work area. There is a picture to back up that claim. There are actually pictures to back up all of my claims. As a certified electrician myself and someone who has worked in the construction field for the majority of my working years I did have a lot of "complaints" because I know what good work is and I know what bad work is. If I wasn't there to check the progress and workmanship you would have left the house even worse and even more dangerous. I am curious as to how many other people who do not know the ins and outs of construction you have put in danger due to your lack of concern for how you and/or your employees do work on peoples homes. Yes, from the outside the work looks nice, but underneath all that is work that no contractor, especially one with as many years in the trades as you, should take pride in. You cut corners and do whatever you can to get in and out as quickly as possible regardless of how bad or dangerous the work is. Robin of course does not even know what type of work is being done because once you give him his money he will not show up a single time to check work or even see the finished product, not sure how you are going to claim I am lying about the work done at the home when you have never seen any of the work that was done? Again, I have included photos of some (yes there is more than what I included) of the bad workmanship that was done. read more

I reached out to Robin in July to get a quote to finish up some odds and ends of a pony wall that was left unfinished by another cabinet company I hired three years ago. The project required drywall repair, filling, patching, texturing, painting, and  a couple of baseboards.  Robin is busy but not too busy for phone calls or text. What I like is that he will be honest and give a time frame of when he can discuss your project or even come out for quote. He doesn't just leave you wondering if and when he'll back to you like most businesses out there.  Robin and another colleague came out for an estimate after replying via yelp and then switching to text messages. He informed me that he had about ten quotes that day but he'd contact me if he was going to be earlier or later for our appointment . He assessed the project and gave me a quote right there while being candid that it is a smaller project compared to other projects, but he will not dismiss it and gives it his full attention. The quote was fair in comparison to the other quotes. Some of the other quotes that were lower, made me question the quality of work. I read his other reviews about how he'll stand by the quality of his company's work. You get what you pay for, so we went for it.  I even reached out to other Yelpers who were clients of Robin with some questions. They all had positive answers to my questions.  It is true that this was a simple project not like the remodels that his company does. But, if I'm going to hire a company that can take care of a small project and the details, then I'd be more willing to trust them with a large project.  I finally called him back this past week 11/1/21 to see if he can still complete the project at the quote he gave me in July. I sent him images again with more clarifying questions. He was prompt in replying to me, and just like that he scheduled the project for the next week. The tradesman arrived and explained the type of work that needed to be completed. He even pointed out a few details that I was wondering about my cabinets and suggested some options that my cabinets were supposed to have, but the cabinet company neglected to inform me about them.  The project came out great. It was fast, but not rushed. Five hour job. No high pressure sale to upgrade anything. Tradesman was skilled. Cleaned up the work site.   Robin is one of the rare companies that communicate with his clients directly. He explains the why's and the why nots. He is transparent in the scope of the work that needs to get done and the price too. There are no hidden surprises. If you have a wondering just ask him. He followed up a couple hours later to make sure everything was fine and even said to contact him if there were  any issues that we noticed later.  The Handyman services are services I hope use again in the future. read more

Robin is amazing! I reached out for an estimate to repair my bathroom that had water damage and I was sold with his kindness, reasonable prices and professionalism. Robin's team finished the project promptly and did a wonderful job. They were very professional and included me in the process which I really appreciated. All of my tile and baseboards were replaced along with a new vanity install and some custom quartz work completed on the side of the tub. I made the right choice going with Robin and his team for our shower remodel. He responded to my request for a quote quickly and provided fair market pricing for his services. The end result was beautiful and it was completed earlier than the quoted completion date. Robin constantly checked in during the entire process to make sure we were satisfied with the progress. We ran into a small issue of not having enough ventilation during the hot mop process and had to leave the house until the smell cleared up. When I let Robin know he was very apologetic but most importantly he said that he was glad we told him so he can let other clients know in the future. That is when I knew I chose the right company to do the job. Robin sincerely cares about the work his company puts out and he puts the satisfaction of his clients first. Thank you Robin and The Handyman team for the great work! We love our new showers! read more

I needed to find someone to remove and replace a fire rated door between my hallway and my garage. I found The Handyman service on-line. I called and received an approximate cost for the service. Robin was able to schedule an appointment that fit my schedule. His worker Jesse came to my house on time as promised and completed the job in a timely manner. Really pleased with the quality of service and reasonable pricing. I will definitely be using Robin and his team for future projects!

I found Robin through Yelp and have been communicating with him for the last couple months about some projects in my home. We just completed the first project which was a complete drywall of our garage. He came out and looked over the project and was able to give me an estimate that same day. He was the first person that I actually spoke with and when I got a couple other quotes his pricing was less and he was the only person to get back to me promptly. As you can see from other reviews he has integrity and is mindful about his follow-through. Robin was on hand exactly at 9 am on the day the project began. He's been very professional and easy to communicate with but also very down to earth and strikes me as a very honest guy which gives me a lot of comfort. Especially since home repair and projects are really not my area of expertise. His pricing is very fair and the estimated time of the garage project was right on time. I will be completing 2 other projects in my home including a kitchen remodel and two bathroom remodel and look forward to working with Robin and his team in the future. I think working with Robin in our case was also highly recommended as I know a lot of bathroom and kitchen remodels can be $40-$70,000. I would highly recommend considering someone like Robin and his team rather than a private interior design/contractor company as we are going with IKEA kitchen and having Robin's team do a lot of the demo work, flooring, painting, electrical, etc. and saving a ton of money. I've been researching remodels for the past six months on everything from domino magazine, Houzz and Remodelista and feel that you can find a quality contractor and team to help make this a reality for significantly less than some of these high-end designers. Consider the handyman! read more

Robin and team did an amazing job on my two fences! Both of my fences had water damage and were not closing properly! They gave me an excellent price and I shopped around for quite a bit! No one could compete with them! They saved me some money by fixing the small gate and not replacing it! The large gate was lopsided and very difficult to close, it was falling apart! They replaced it and painted it in one day! Amazing job, definitely 5 stars!! Will be calling them for all my repair needs! read more

This review is based on customer service only and not the quality of work. My husband and I reached out to several people for quotes for dry wall repair after we had lights installed In our home. Robin responses 2 days later after we had already hired someone, but not only was Robin's quote way above all the others, I really did not appreciate his arrogance, as he poo-pooed the people we had previously hired for a different job who he believes left a "mess" and that he wouldn't have done so had we hired him instead. When I mentioned that we had already hired someone else for less than half his asking price, he then proceeded to let me know of the things that will go wrong with that price and stated "we will see how it looks..." I would never give my business to such an establishment, do your research and get several quotes before you hire. read more

My first experience with Mr. Robin Adair's company The Handyman was a couple of weeks ago when I asked him to help my parents. That service was so wonderful that word got around and now my aunt, also elderly but independent, needed help with electrical re-wiring and large outside security light fixture replacements. This job was different from the first. The scope of work changed, expanding after the technician arrived and was shown around the property. I did not get the full understanding of the job when I initially spoke with my aunt; and then communicated that requirement to Mr. Adair. The work required was more than double my initial understanding. If you are like me, you worry that sales people and contractors may take advantage of your loved ones. Well, I can tell you that Mr. Robin Adair and his company are people you can trust. Mr. Adair, through phone calls, texts and photos kept me updated in Houston as the work was being performed in California. His technician was patient, thorough, and very respectful with my aunt as he explained the work he was doing. And even though the scope of work changed significantly, the technician stayed on the job until completion. Mr. Adair's service fees were very fair and reasonable and the work performed was excellent. I don't usually write reviews, but i am so happy to have found a company and owner with this quality of customer service and professional skill. Thank you Robin Adair and your company The Handyman; your service has made a difference in the quality of my family's lives. read more

I chose the handyman after receiving five separate estimates for a variety of work and chose them to do a majority of the work. While some of the prices varied from the estimate Robin was good at communicating throughout the process making me feel at ease. His exceptional communication was great even though timelines were a little off sometimes to circumstances beyond his control. He did however get the work done well in advance of when they thought they could actually do it so another plus for that. If you're looking for reasonable prices and are willing to be a little flexible as timelines can change this is definitely the place to hire! read more
