Job was not completed and communication between robin and Dan were never on the same page with scope of work and was changed extra because of poor communication between them. My cabinet trim they installed has been falling apart base board installed incorrectly. I honestly felt like I was over charged especially when I provided 99% of material. Update is in response to Robin's reply to my review. Yes this was my mothers home that was being remodeled, but that should not excuse the unprofessional work and people. Yes I did have get into an argument with his employee/foreman Dan, words were exchanged from both sides. This argument was due to his sloppy work and lack of communication about the decisions being made on the kitchen. As far as me needing to supervise my child, if you are going to do work in part of a home it is pretty standard for you to mask off the work area. You don't just leave the area open for all to walk through freely. Also one of the several live electrical outlets left hanging out of the wall was actually in our living room and not in the kitchen that was the work area. So regardless if I kept my child out of the "work area" your employees still left a live outlet hanging out of the wall in a non-work area. There is a picture to back up that claim. There are actually pictures to back up all of my claims. As a certified electrician myself and someone who has worked in the construction field for the majority of my working years I did have a lot of "complaints" because I know what good work is and I know what bad work is. If I wasn't there to check the progress and workmanship you would have left the house even worse and even more dangerous. I am curious as to how many other people who do not know the ins and outs of construction you have put in danger due to your lack of concern for how you and/or your employees do work on peoples homes. Yes, from the outside the work looks nice, but underneath all that is work that no contractor, especially one with as many years in the trades as you, should take pride in. You cut corners and do whatever you can to get in and out as quickly as possible regardless of how bad or dangerous the work is. Robin of course does not even know what type of work is being done because once you give him his money he will not show up a single time to check work or even see the finished product, not sure how you are going to claim I am lying about the work done at the home when you have never seen any of the work that was done? I reached out to Robin in July to get a quote to finish up some odds and ends of a pony wall that was left unfinished by another cabinet company I hired three years ago. The project required drywall repair, filling, patching, texturing, painting, and  a couple of baseboards.  Robin is busy but not too busy for phone calls or text. What I like is that he will be honest and give a time frame of when he can discuss your project or even come out for quote. He doesn't just leave you wondering if and when he'll back to you like most businesses out there.  Robin and another colleague came out for an estimate after replying via yelp and then switching to text messages. He informed me that he had about ten quotes that day but he'd contact me if he was going to be earlier or later for our appointment . He assessed the project and gave me a quote right there while being candid that it is a smaller project compared to other projects, but he will not dismiss it and gives it his full attention. The quote was fair in comparison to the other quotes. Some of the other quotes that were lower, made me question the quality of work. I read his other reviews about how he'll stand by the quality of his company's work. You get what you pay for, so we went for it.  I even reached out to other Yelpers who were clients of Robin with some questions. They all had positive answers to my questions.  It is true that this was a simple project not like the remodels that his company does. But, if I'm going to hire a company that can take care of a small project and the details, then I'd be more willing to trust them with a large project.  I finally called him back this past week 11/1/21 to see if he can still complete the project at the quote he gave me in July. I sent him images again with more clarifying questions. He was prompt in replying to me, and just like that he scheduled the project for the next week. The tradesman arrived and explained the type of work that needed to be completed. He even pointed out a few details that I was wondering about my cabinets and suggested some options that my cabinets were supposed to have, but the cabinet company neglected to inform me about them.  The project came out great. It was fast, but not rushed. Five hour job. No high pressure sale to upgrade anything. Tradesman was skilled. Cleaned up the work site.   Robin is one of the rare companies that communicate with his clients directly. He explains the why's and the why nots. He is transparent in the scope of the work that needs to get done and the price too. There are no hidden surprises. If you have a wondering just ask him. He followed up a couple hours later to make sure everything was fine and even said to contact him if there were  any issues that we noticed later.  The Handyman services are services I hope use again in the future. read more

I made the right choice going with Robin and his team for our shower remodel. He responded to my request for a quote quickly and provided fair market pricing for his services. The end result was beautiful and it was completed earlier than the quoted completion date. Robin constantly checked in during the entire process to make sure we were satisfied with the progress. We ran into a small issue of not having enough ventilation during the hot mop process and had to leave the house until the smell cleared up. I found Robin through Yelp and have been communicating with him for the last couple months about some projects in my home. We just completed the first project which was a complete drywall of our garage. He came out and looked over the project and was able to give me an estimate that same day. He was the first person that I actually spoke with and when I got a couple other quotes his pricing was less and he was the only person to get back to me promptly. As you can see from other reviews he has integrity and is mindful about his follow-through. Robin was on hand exactly at 9 am on the day the project began. He's been very professional and easy to communicate with but also very down to earth and strikes me as a very honest guy which gives me a lot of comfort. Especially since home repair and projects are really not my area of expertise. His pricing is very fair and the estimated time of the garage project was right on time. I will be completing 2 other projects in my home including a kitchen remodel and two bathroom remodel and look forward to working with Robin and his team in the future. I think working with Robin in our case was also highly recommended as I know a lot of bathroom and kitchen remodels can be $40-$70,000. I would highly recommend considering someone like Robin and his team rather than a private interior design/contractor company as we are going with IKEA kitchen and having Robin's team do a lot of the demo work, flooring, painting, electrical, etc. and saving a ton of money. I've been researching remodels for the past six months on everything from domino magazine, Houzz and Remodelista and feel that you can find a quality contractor and team to help make this a reality for significantly less than some of these high-end designers. That service was so wonderful that word got around and now my aunt, also elderly but independent, needed help with electrical re-wiring and large outside security light fixture replacements. I did not get the full understanding of the job when I initially spoke with my aunt; and then communicated that requirement to Mr. Adair. Well, I can tell you that Mr. Robin Adair and his company are people you can trust. Mr. Adair, through phone calls, texts and photos kept me updated in Houston as the work was being performed in California. Robin responses 2 days later after we had already hired someone, but not only was Robin's quote way above all the others, I really did not appreciate his arrogance, as he poo-pooed the people we had previously hired for a different job who he believes left a "mess" and that he wouldn't have done so had we hired him instead. I chose the handyman after receiving five separate estimates for a variety of work and chose them to do a majority of the work. While some of the prices varied from the estimate Robin was good at communicating throughout the process making me feel at ease. His exceptional communication was great even though timelines were a little off sometimes to circumstances beyond his control. He did however get the work done well in advance of when they thought they could actually do it so another plus for that. We were as rational and cordial as we could be as evidenced in these texts. You really can't make this stuff up. Especially the picture with his "flaky asian" comment. I'm fully expecting him to reply to this comment with some flaccid accusations about "he did this and he did that and what he's not telling you and he's lying and making false claims.." blah blah blah.
