He also painted the walls, repaired some previously damaged drywall (you can't even tell where he repaired), removed our bathtub with 2 water knobs and converted it into a dual head shower with a newer home style 1 handle water mixer for my mom's old home. After ordering a…read moreshelving unit for a supposed DIY project from a manufacturer, I found myself unsure of how I could safely and securely mount it myself so that it could bear the weight of a massive book collection based on the manufacturer specs. I'm very glad I decided to reach out to Cordova Co. for their expert experience and advice. They were great partners in finding a creative solution to adapt this unit in a way that would allow us to get the brackets installed in studs with the weight evenly distributed for a safe, solid install. They quoted a very fair price and got the shelving unit up in just a couple of hours. I highly recommend Lionel and the Cordova Co. team, and I will definitely reach out to them in the future for other projects.

One particular company that has door-to -door sales reps (Energy Star Construction) provided me with an estimate for a 200 sq ft concrete patio with pergola for 16k (He would be able to knock off 3k if I agreed to my property being a showcase; meaning people could come over and check it out or call me about it. No, thank you). The next week, I noticed Mike and his partner working on a patio down the block from me that was fabulous- cable hook-up for their outdoor TV, light scones, and fans. I asked him for contact information, and he said he would stop by for a free estimate later on in the day. When he came by, I explained to him what I was looking for and told him about the estimate from Energy Star Const., and he said he would be able to do the job for $6500. Moreover, he told me that the job that he was working on down the street was a $15,000 job. The estimate he gave me was good for 30 days, and even though I called him after that deadline, he readily agreed to do the job for me. I am very pleased with the work that was done- The color matches beautifully with the color scheme of the house and the City of Hanford inspector said they did a "really great job for [me]." Generac whole house generators are lately on back order for months but I found one fortunately in Bakersfield and got them delivered. To my surprise after the delivery of the generator, he stopped responding at all and I was stuck with the generator and he left me in the dark. I know that it is a free world and everyone is free to choose what they can do or not. 1. But there was no reason for him to agree for original installation and then let me stuck with it. (since it is a big item, and you have to have installer agree to install that model before hand and it is not something you can just return without a huge penalty). 2. If by any chance, there was a change in plan or he wanted a higher price or something, at least there should be minimum courtesy to respond back and communicate and let the homeowner know about the situation. Very poor and very disappointing service to say the least.
