Received a quote to have bathtub tiles removed and an access panel inserted for plumber access. Francisco responded quickly and provided a reasonable estimate compared to other companies. He arrived on time and was very professional, even advising my wife not to enter the bathroom with our baby while he worked since the dust might affect her. He also closed the bathroom door after he completed the job to stop dust from spreading around our bedroom. Francisco filled in a hole in my garage ceiling and also patched up a crack in the wall/ceiling inside the house. He explained what he was going to do very thoroughly. He took before and after pictures and included them in the invoice. His pricing is very, very reasonable, especially for the great work that he does. We will definitely be using Francisco's services in the future! Update as of 3/30/18: I would give Francisco 10 stars if I could! He repaired the cabinet under my mom's kitchen sink that was damaged from a leaking faucet. He was out of town when I called him and came back into town early to accommodate my schedule. I actually called several damage restoration companies before I called Francisco, and he was the only one who came to my house the next day and then fixed the cabinet the day after that. He's very reliable and reasonably priced, and that is hard to find when it comes to handymen/ construction guys. I ordered a steel door at Home Depot for my mom's garage. Three days later, no one had come by to measure the door. Francisco said "Let's go to Home Depot now and get your door, and you can get your $50 deposit back." We did just that. He's coming to my mom's house this Saturday to install the door AND paint the downstairs. I've shown him some other things that need to be repaired/replaced, and he will suggest cheaper alternatives to help save me some money. Francisco came by our house and gave us a free quote of how much it would cost. He took the time to explain the process and tried to save us money with possible discounts. Now here is where they went ABOVE AND BEYOND: -The company we purchased our awning had SEVERAL inconsistencies with its EXACT arrival date. Francisco took it upon himself to call the company and demand they give us a discount or deliver the product as promised. After that last phone call he made to the company, our retractable awning seemed to magically arrive without any more complications. - They picked up our purchase from the store and delivered it to our house on the day of installation. -Francisco and his amazing side kick "POPS" even helped us fix our garage door. We bought our home just a couple of months ago. We had overgrown ivy on our fence that was making the wood rot and start to collapse. We hired Francisco to remove the ivy and replace the fence. The ivy turned out to be a bigger job than it looked. I think he was out there about 3 hours or so just chopping that thing down in 3 digit degree weather (not to mention the time it took to do the fence). He also realized our fence was a double layer. He did not make us pay any extra than what he quoted, spent the extra time cleaning the ivy and completing the fix that should have been double the cost. I guess he could have done exactly what he quoted, but he ensured that section of the fence was done properly and matched the other sections, which we appreciate. He's also had to make multiple trips back here because of the extent of damage and work that needed to be done, with no complaint. We're just about done, so far so good. He did the job at a loss, but he was more than willing to make sure we were happy with it. Definitely a man of his word and ensures the job is complete and done correctly. I asked him to come fix a few things, he was nice at first, then I had to cancel on the appointment a hour before because something came up. He told me he had bought some materials for my house( I never asked him to buy anything and he never told me he was going to buy materials). I offered to pay the price for them and he started mentioning items I didn't even need just to get more money from me so I told him I wasn't going to pay him and he threatened something was going to come to me and to take me to court, I have the messages If anyone wants to see, please look at his other bad reviews too. And I have to right to take away my offer and not be threatened for not paying Absolutely the worst person to do business with, over $30 of materials I never even asked for, he is still harassing me and just has a huge problem of not being able to let things go, he is lying about things I never did too lol seems like he has nothing better to do at this point other than scam people out of money like on his other bad reviews. I had them do a custom build entertainment center in my living room. They quoted me a good price and even though ran into some trouble with hanging up my extremely large and very heavy, big screen TV they stuck with the price and did an excellent job. Always showed up when they said they would and kept in constant contact with me. Always early and very courteous of their surroundings leaving everything look just as it did when they came other than the beautiful book shelves and entertainment center that was Left Behind. I am adding a few pictures of during and after. Turns out whoever did the previous remodel actually made the walls crooked, they allow downward, but they were able to adapt with the trim and made it work. My only complaint is that the very old and very heavy TV just didn't quite go back in the way it should. But I am very pleased with his effort to make it work and the end results. read more

I feel so stupid for letting this guy stiff me our of some significant money. We recently purchased the home of our dreams in Fresno. It was in need of some tender loving care that I am physically no longer able to preform. I decided to seek the services of a handyman and was drawn to Francisco because of his positive reviews on Yelp. I used Francisco on several projects and found his work acceptable ( not good or bad). He became aware of my plans to do a significant back yard project involving several contractors. He convinced me that he could do the patio cover portion of the work in a short time frame and gave me a proposal and agreement. He was to do the work in three days. I paid hime approximately 50% of the agreed amount so he could purchase the materials. He committed to complete his work in three days so that he would not be in the way of the other trades on the project. He was to begin on August 2, 2019. A change order would delay him by two days. His work began on August 5 ,2019 and was steady but limited to his limited working hours / days. About one week after beginning he asked me for and advance to pay for some of his expenses and to visit and buy school clothes for his daughters in Northern California. I was very reluctant but I am a sucker for kids in need and agreed to pay him in full after he promised profusely to return and complete the work on the next Monday. To make a long story short he has only returned to the job for approximately two hours and he has not returned to the job since 8/21/19. Today I hired a contractor to finish Francisco's work. If you decide to use this guy BEWARE - he is dishonest and has no ethics. Learn from my stupidity and as the old sayingoes "Buyer Beware". I plan on reporting this to the authorities but don't think I will see any action to recover the funds I have to spend to complete the project. One week ago today Francisco posted a rebuttal to this review in which he stated he was sending me a check for the work that was paid for but not completed. To date I have not received anything. I first contacted this company this last Thursday. From the get go, he was early, prepared and ready to work. Today, they finished the work and I am truly pleased. Francisco was fast and easy to work with and took the time to address each of my concerns. I've been screwed over by contractors in the past and he really helped me put their mistakes to right. He finished the project, which was installing new granite counter tops and a cabinet refab that turned out great!! I will be hiring him again for another project in my kitchen in the coming weeks. We rent an older house so naturally there were so many problems and Francisco & Pop at Alcover have fixed them all. Francisco and Pop are so kind and funny. They work hard and get the job done well. They replaced a bathroom door for us, did our outside lighting, and they just replaced our old dyer. he called me as soon as we purchased the toilet. First he said he can come the next day, then he changed to 5 days later. by then I was not home, so he had set the toilet without saying anything about the fact that a piece was broken from the toilet and the fact that the ring needed to be changed. So, after he left we had to go to home depot and change the broken piece with a new one. He also told me that he will send me a receipt, which he never sent. The toilet is leaking, he has put our numbers on block, so we are not able to call him. He just wants to collect money and leave. He is not trustworthy. I would never recommend him. read more

This is my second attempt at posting this review. The first time I posted it, I received a barrage of text messages from him. I was made to feel uncomfortable so I deleted my review. I feel like it is important to post an honest review to warn others. Mr. Alcover: if you harass me with texts after this I will report you to EVERY entity out there I can. Here goes: I was very disappointed with the amount of time it took for him to complete this job: two weeks for what should have been a two day job to put gutters up. Issues: 1. One of my light sensors is partially blocked by a down spout. 2. He promised to tape everything off to avoid splatters when painting and he did not so then used what little paint I had left from a recent painting of my house to fix his errors. I have NONE of that paint left. 3. I have drips in the paint. 4. One side of my house was not completed because he left the gutters in my driveway for two weeks (which my husband told him not to do) and I ran them over them one night. He could not replace them right away because he gets his supplies from the Bay Area and I just didn't want to deal with this anymore so we told him to just finish what he had and we were done. 5. He said he'd haul away the damaged gutters but must've changed his mind because the next time we saw him he explained how the gutters were stacked next to my sons car and were now my issue. 5. Gutter near my son's car leaks. 6. We just discovered he blocked one of our security cameras with a gutter. We will have to pay our security service to move the camera or pay the person who will be completing the job to move the downspout. 7. I never received any receipts for paint or items he purchased at a hardware store. 8. He often brought his girlfriend to my house and she sat in the car while he worked. This is inappropriate and unprofessional. On one occasion I heard them arguing in my front yard. It was right about that time I just decided I wanted him gone and would pay someone else to clean up his mess. I am convinced there are few negative reviews because he takes to harassing anyone who tries. Was this company initially cheaper? Yes he was, however, I will end up paying more in the long run to fix all his errors than if I had just gone with someone else in the first place. read more

Not only did they reconstruct my atrium's overhead with new improved materials and add a drainage system that spliced into the existing drain, there was no leakage during the recent rainfall. My skylight cracked during the heavy winds so I called Francisco and he came out the same day. My house is older so that size and type of material was not available locally so Francisco drove to the bay area (same day) to get the customized material. Would call again for other projects. Sent a message through Yelp, got an almost immediate response and phone call. Expected to get scheduled out a few days, but he was able to come out within hours which was a blessing because I had a leak that needed to be fixed before causing any disastrous water damage. He came and almost immediately diagnosed the problem. I have to admit, I was skeptical because I felt like it was way too fast for him to be right. I figured it would be days, if not even a week before the part would come, because isn't that just the norm? But he knew exactly where to get the proprietary part from and was back within a couple of hours, and again, I must admit, I was skeptical because it was "fixed" within minutes. Only, it really was fixed! I asked whether it was necessary to replace areas around the sink in case if there was water damage, and as a business man, he could have insisted it be done just to make the money, however, I felt no pressure for any excess work to be done. I will most likely use this company again in the future when I need a repair or handyman. He seemed knowledgeable and capable.
