Highlights: a quaint, charming little spot in Bath that's a locals destination for afternoon team…read more Two orders of the classic afternoon tea was more than enough for two of us - we didn't even make it to the cake and had to get it for takeaway. But the sandwiches (we swapped the filling for the bacon, Brie and cranberry version) were so flavorful and refreshing and the scones buttery and flaky. For the Americans reading this, the clotted cream it comes with is just a more spreadable butter - I definitely thought it would be chunky like cottage cheese . There was plenty of water for tea and even a nice amount to refill. The other customers seemed to largely be locals so it didn't seem like a tourist trap. Not something you will necessarily get in and out of quickly but that's kind of the beauty of afternoon tea, isn't it? The steps upstairs can be a bit steep so be prepared if you have someone with mobility issues but there are some seats on the ground level and outside. A must see if you want a traditional tea experience that's accessible and doesn't require a reservation.

Who doesn't love a quintessential English tea experience? (At least at this age...) if you ever…read morefind yourself in Bath, you have to visit The Bath Bun for a classic high tea. Located in the peaceful Abbey Green, you can sit inside or outside, and pick from 18+ different teas from around the world. Indulge in a delicious scone, or the famous Bath Bun with some preserves or my favorite- clotted cream. I've visited The Bath Bun twice, once in the cold month of February, sitting inside. We also visited in the month of May, and enjoyed the outdoor seating. Both experiences were wonderful! Sitting outside you have a beautiful view of the London Plane Tree which is from the nineteenth century, the main attraction of the Abbey. If you are fortunate enough to get a seat outside you'll also be able to hear live music from street performers in the Abbey Churchyard. The Bath Bun does not take reservations, so be sure to time your visit well. They also serve breakfast and lunch if high tea is not your jam . IG Lentz_Explore
