Handle with Care??? What a joke. This has by far been one of the most inconvenient experiences I have ever had. After the broker adjusted my original quote to more than $1,000 more due to "not enough space" when I gave the exact measurements previously, the movers came and picked up my belongings on 1/31/2026 with a delivery promise of 7-10 days. After over 25+ calls, I finally received a call back from the movers on February 16th 2026. They asked when the soonest availability was - I advised I had already notated that on the paperwork for ASAP and was previously promised by 10 days. This was not the case. The person on the phone told me that it was the first time he was speaking with me and it would be 30 days from this date forward (2/16), which contradicts the contract. After expressing my frustrations, he advised someone would be reaching out very soon with a time/date, which did not happen. After continued numerous calls to Handle With Care Moving and Transportation with my calls forwarded but no call backs, I went from sleeping/eating on the floor to purchasing a blow up mattress. After almost 3 weeks of that, I finally purchased a new bed/frame. My back has been terrible and I have been in a lot of pain. I also had to purchase new pots and pans so I can cook and not go out and eat for every meal. I finally came to a point of reaching out for some legal guidance in which I told the company on 2/26. This finally resulted in attention and I received a promised delivery of the following week. The driver arrived on Sunday, March 8, 36 days after my belongings were initially picked up. This is when we discovered my mattress, bed frame, a TV, a tote, and game chair were missing. Additionally my brand new dresser was completely ruined (broken legs, back and top severely damaged, drawers and front door sliders missing) and my desk had deep gashes/scratches.) 3/9, I spoke with Omar with Handle With Care Moving and Transportation advised to file a claim with them directly while they "try" to locate my belongs, but gave no indiciation this could actually be acomplisted. **On Tuesday, April 21st, after receiving no reply, I contacted the company by telephone seeking clarification and resolution. During that call, I was informed--without prior notice--that my "case" had been unilaterally closed. I was not provided with any explanation, documentation, or opportunity to respond. The call was abruptly terminated by a representative who failed to tell me his Name before I could receive further information, immediately following the remark "have a great day." Records from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) show that Handle With Care Moving & Transportation LLC (USDOT #3190967) holds an Operating Authority Status of "NOT AUTHORIZED." As defined by the FMCSA, this status means the company is not authorized to engage in interstate, for hire transportation. Despite this, they accepted payment and transported my household goods across state lines from South Carolina to Michigan. Interstate household goods transportation requires active Household Goods operating authority, which your company did not possess at the time of the move. I wish the rating system went below zero stars. These guys earned it, for sure. They broke and damaged furniture, and a delivery that should have taken a few days took several weeks. TAKE A PHOTO OF THE INVOICE THEY PROVIDE WHEN THEY LOAD YOUR TRUCK. You will need it in order to file an insurance claim against them in your very near future, should you hire them. They have a very similar name as a company based in California that has amazing reviews. Do not be confused: this company is not that one at all, and you should not expect the service that similarly named company provides. If you hire this company, understand the future headache you are only causing yourself. My recommendation is to save yourself the pain and hassle and never, ever contact this company. This company was sent to me by a moving broker that claims to be the top moving broker in the country. I was charged $1800 for a move from Chattanooga, Tennessee to Atlanta, Georgia, which should be done in a single day loading driving and unloading. This company does not take apart furniture, even if it is eight bolts just to separate two pieces of a couch. They lost some of my furniture because they are incompetent in their labeling and on top of that when I tried to call afterwards to get refunded after the terrible experience with them, they ignored me. I tried contacting the moving broker and they ignored me. My best advice if you use this company have an attorney on hand before you sign anything I'm almost 6 months past my move and I'm still considering contacting the Florida Attorney General to investigate the moving broker and the Georgia Attorney General to investigate the moving company who's based out of Tucker Georgia because a move that crosses state lines that is this terrible constitutes as fraud because I was way overcharged based on other moves from Atlanta to Chattanooga with the same amount of stuff. If I could give no stars I would! Do not use this company! They sent me 1 mover therefore it took ALL day to move my belongings! I paid $5000 for 1 mover! I could have did it myself if they were only going to send 1 person. Well, to Start with the call to Mission and spoke to (Lewis) as a sales rep of (Mission Van Lines) for the company he was very on point to how we could make a great package deal for me to go from Atlanta, GA to Las Vegas, NV- spent almost 2 hours on the phone going from room to room giving detailed info on my inventory (furniture, appliances, beds, etc.) a lot of stuff. After all was said and done, he charged me 5300.00 which sounded too good to be true-IT WAS!!!!! I called him the next morning and told him that I think his take on my inventory was way off and he stated that would be fine upon the packers and movers showing up and they would asset the adjustment and make a slight price change, I got the call from the driver telling me that he was headed out and stated that he would be coming with a 26' footer which in return I told him that would be too small for my amount of inventory (almost 2500 sq. footage 4 bedroom house) which they knew from the initial call, Mike (Driver-Handle With Care Moving & Storage, LLC) told me he would make the change in the proper truck size to support the house size and inventory. Truck shows up and it's a 40'-footer and we need a 50'-footer to complete the job (THE FLIP) they send a smaller truck to kick up the amount of money you would need to give them additional to make the job solid. Mission is not an actual Van Line service, they're a broker (Dispatcher of jobs) which find truckers to pick up your belongings to get the job done. My job changed hands a total of 3 times and Handle with Care Moving & Storage, LLC & Arena Van Lines helped sum up the 3 times of needed money- they tell you that they pack, and un-pack is a (LIE) it cost for them to do this, and it was a plus that 90% of my inventory was already packed for the move. Spoke to (Handle with Care Moving & Storage, LLC) Owner (Eli) which wanted me to feel grateful of the price per cu. ft. then in return hit me for an additional 6300.00 for the job after they sent an additional truck to get the rest of my stuff for sending a smaller truck. They convince you that the pricing should not be much more and will load the truck for what you were originally charged and that's how they get and hold your stuff hostage until you kick out the additional cost. It took from November 22nd to being delivered December 4th with the last and final trucking (Arena Van Lines) which Sumed up the final trucking company to collect money to be paid in full, well they had an additional charge for stairs and at this point we start to see some damages to our inventory and felt defeated due to it was finger pointing and it could have been the other trucking service like the trucker stated. We do have some things that are missing and will try to retrieve with a claim (Good Luck on that) Handle with Care Moving & Storage, LLC took my Drill with him, and they kept some things that will probably be replaced with a claim, but I will never recommend 2 of the 3 (Mission Van Lines & Handle with Care Moving & Storage, LLC) to anyone but Arena Van Lines who was connected to this transaction because with just being two of them they completed the job quicker than the ones (4 the first day and 2 the next day) who wanted a tip and took all day for 2 days of loading my stuff, Arena Van Lines did in one day and half the time along with setting up beds, etc. overall this was a learning experience that was costly with damaged stuff and (Mission Van Lines and Handle with Care Moving & Storage, LLC) are not good companies in my opinion and a 1 star is too good for the job they did. read more

No compensation what so ever. Good luck trying to get a a manger to talk to. The drivers tip was almost like extortion. The move cost 3 times what they estimated. The storage fee was 3 times what they told me it would be. They charged me for more furniture than I had. They were extremely late picking my furniture up and then again dropping it off. This company quoted me around $2500 to move my belongings to NJ from Florida. I wanted my things pack. The movers said they were not told that so all that they put in the truck was my couch, a living room chair, mattress, box spring, dresser, 2 small tables. Also a 50 inch smart tv, Dyson vacuum cleaner, brand new double Keurig, a container is my nix nacks, a piece of table that went with the others, which were not delivered to me. Move from Indiana to Naples, Florida June 2023: After many thorough conversations with UNITED PRO VAN LINES regarding our items to be moved we were quoted 407 cf with an estimated total moving cost of $2000. United Pro Van Lines set up our move with HANDLE WITH CARE MOVING AND TRANSPORTATION. When they arrived at our home in Indiana the mover asked me to sign the Interstate Bill of Lading Contract. The only numbers on the contract when I signed it was the Cubic Feet Charges of 407 @ 4.00 per cu ft. total $1028. I then signed the contract. The movers had our allotted space in the truck roped off and showed us multiple times that we had plenty of space. He had a rope hanging in the truck that we could not go past or we would be over the 407cf. Once all our items were loaded and we were once again told we had plenty of room left we opted to add a few additional items, such as bulk Costco toilet paper and bulk Costco paper towels. The mover then shut the truck. He then informed us that we went over the number of items quoted and it would be an additional $422. Now totalling $2422. We were shocked because no one had ever mentioned "number of items" we were only told we had 407cf in our quoted move. We were told before he shut the truck that we were still behind the rope and under our quoted 407cf. We then demanded that he open the truck so that we could take the additional items off. We were not going to pay $422 more to send items such as toilet paper. He then added the additional numbers to the contract I had previously signed. I did not sign anything after he added the new updated total. He told us that he was not allowed to open the truck door once it was closed. We told the driver we needed to call the moving company and we immediately called Judith with United Van Lines and while we were on the phone with her the driver drove away with our valuables! This was the beginning of our nightmare move. Judith with United Pro Van Lines told us multiple times she would review the Interstate Bill of Lading Contract and get back with us. Of course we never heard anything. Our hands were tied. The moving company, HANDLE WITH CARE MOVING AND TRANSPORTATION had our valuables and we just wanted them delivered safely. Our valuables left our home in Indiana on 6/21/2023 and did not arrive at our Florida home until 7/14/2023 at 8pm (our first date listed for delivery was 6/26/23 so this was 19 days later) I was told on average it would take about 4 days. I was never informed that it was a shared move and could take this long. On two different occasions we flew to Florida awaiting our items which never showed. There were lots of expenses in flights, hotels and rental cars. When our long awaited valuables finally showed up in Florida, the first thing I noticed when the movers opened the truck were our couch cushions unwrapped and laying on the floor of the dirty truck! We had just purchased a brand new Pottery Barn sectional, dining table, console table and bench. They were in perfect condition when they left our home in Indiana. All items were delivered damaged and beyond repair. To replace the couch alone would be over $6000 and we will be lucky to get $200 back from the insurance. I realize now we should have purchased additional insurance. I was only told multiple times by United Pro Van Lines that we were completely protected with up to $10,000 in insurance that was included in our move. I was never informed that I would only actually get .60 per pound. The movers on the drop off told us that all of our furniture should have been wrapped in blankets. None of our furniture was wrapped or protected. It looked like someone just threw it in the truck.. The couch has multiple tears, grease, and dirt stains. The tables are chipped and dented. We are heartbroken over this move. We spent years saving for our retirement home and picked out the perfect furniture and it was not handled with care. Ironically, the toilet paper and paper towels we tried to remove from the truck never showed up. We also had a brand new twin mattress and garage shelves that did not show up either. We feel like we were misled, lied too and taken advantage of. At minimum we should be refunded the additional $422 in addition to the furniture insurance that was added on at the end. The receipt for the Pottery Barn furniture totals $4877.71 (I purchased it during a sale). To replace the items today it would cost over $9,754. As they are not on sale any longer. I am asking the moving company for a full refund of $2422.40 for the disaster move. I hope there will be further investigation into both of these companies. No one should go through the stress of this. If we were to do it again, we would rent a truck and move our items ourselves. At minimum the sales staff at United Pro Van Lines needs to be educated. Thi company is the worst. I have a box of china missing, a rifle missing, and many broken items. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We had severe damage to most of our belongings. They will lie to you and tell you they have insurance, but it is not good. We ended up making a home owners policy claim. They are beyond unprofessional and will make you jump through hoops to get your items back. They lied and said our items would be loaded and driven directly over. It was an interstate move. They did not do that. They unloaded it and stored it in a warehouse for 2 weeks. When our items arrived we had so much damage and missing items. Using Handle with Care Moving to move from Nashville to LA was the worst mistake I ever made. Please don't make the same mistake. They quoted me a price of $2,233.45. Upon pickup, they added a few hundred dollars worth of charges, but I was expecting that. Then, I agreed to pay 50% of the remaining balance (after already paying a $583 deposit), and would pay the other 50% upon delivery. I paid $971.43 over Zelle, expecting to pay the exact same amount ($971.43) upon delivery. Two weeks go by without me hearing anything about when my stuff will arrive. Then I get an email informing me that my current balance is $1,693. They added an extra $722 without explaining the charges and insisted I pay $893.98 or they wouldn't deliver my stuff. I emailed back asking for an explanation of the added charges. A customer service rep, Brittany, called me back and tried to explain it, but couldn't. She said she'd look into it and call me back. It took over a week to get the call back (apparently her boss was on vacation). I asked if there had been any changes in the charges, not wanting to pay more than the amount on the contract I had signed. She said no, I still owed the $1,693. I asked if her boss was there, she transferred me to her boss Eli. Eli proceeded to read off a list of charges adding them up one by one to explain the amount. It still doesn't add up to me, but he claimed "any idiot with a calculator could figure this out," calling me an idiot over the phone, then insinuating that I was trying to rip his company off. He boiled the whole mess down to miscalculations on the driver's behalf. He also said I will not have my stuff delivered until I pay the remaining balance and that if I didn't, they would start charging me a storage fee in the next week. It was truly the worst customer service I've ever had. This company has done nothing but cause headaches and frustration. They are crooked and will overcharge you. Hang on to that contract you signed tight, but don't count on it saving you. They don't care about contracts. They just care about exploiting customers to turn a maximum profit. 21 days for my furniture to get from Chicago to Dallas (should have been no more than 10). Although dates aren't guaranteed, Chicago to Dallas is a popular route and I should not have had to wait over two weeks for a truck to be available after the goods were picked up. -Original pick up date changed after they were already supposed to be onsite. -3 days to resolve several billing errors in which I was asked multiple times to prove I had made a payment. When asked for compensation I was told I would not receive compensation for a "clerical error". -customer service never returned my calls. I had to follow up with multiple calls to multiple people to resolve the billing errors and get information about delivery dates. Even when promised a call back whether they had an answer or not, calls were never returned. -I left a message on the corporate website which promised a response in 48 hours and never received a response. Originally reserved on June 3, 2022 & gave $1025 deposit to Executive Van LInes, who claimed to be 'full-service movers'. AL RUSSO assured me that all would be taken care of with 'white glove service'- I never could find him after that. Imperial Moving Group took over (?) & I spoke with BEN WALKER, a Supervisor, who confirmed my contract. I called with a question; no one knew who he was & my email came back 'undeliverable'. Movers came on September 28, 2022 and I gave them additional $925 in cash & was told (for the 1st time) that my things would be then unloaded from box truck into an 18-wheeler and get to me within 2-3 weeks. I then flew to CA from MO to my new apt. I called a few times (BRITTANY & MONIQUE) to check on where my things were & was INSULTED, HUNG UP ON & told my belongings were in a warehouse in Kansas City (was never informed that would happen) & not sure when arriving to me because they were now with the 'delivery company' -WHAT HAPPENED TO FULL SERVICE MOVERS? Got call day before (30 DAYS LATER) delivery & was told I had to pay $585 to unload my things onto a 'shuttle truck' because the 18-wheeler wouldn't fit on my street. Gave $952 balance in cash on Oct.27, 2022 to PRO SMART MOVERS as my things finally arrived. For 1st time, I learned that HANDLE WITH CARE MOVING & STORAGE was the main delivery company. Broken TV, 4 pieces of broken antique furniture, missing bedframe parts, lost tool bag /tools & missing antique windowpane shelf. Mattress was dirty & stained-when I called to report, THEY DID NOT CARE! I had to file claim with their (3rd party) 'Claim Company' & spent over $40 sending them all 40 pages of pictures, receipts & estimates-just received=MY SETTLEMENT IS $98 because I didn't purchase extra insurance!? To begin with, we were lied to by sales rep Spence Baker, who told us both over the phone and in writing via text that they would be able to deliver my belongings on our preferred delivery date (9/2). He also told us there would be no stair fees which was a lie, as we were charged at both pick up and delivery by the movers. When the movers arrived for pickup, the mover told me that my belongings were being driven directly to and loaded on the semi that was going to drive down to Texas and would be delivered on 9/2 or 9/3 at the latest. When we arrive in Texas on 9/2, having heard no updates from Handle With Care, we call our customer service rep, Shelby O'Keefe, who tells us we signed a contract that states there are no guaranteed delivery dates, and that they have a window of 21 business days to deliver (nowhere in the contract does it mention 21 business days). After trying to clear up the situation with Spence, he blocks our numbers. We spend an entire MONTH going back and forth with Shelby, and a few others at the company who provide us with no information on where my belongings are or when they will be delivered. The customer service reps know nothing and provide absolutely no service - there is no communication in this company, I honestly don't know what they get paid to do. We eventually find out that my stuff has been sitting in a warehouse in Chicago the entire time, and only the warehouse manager is then able to give an estimate of when the next truck to Texas will be shipping my belongings. Mind you, I have been living out of a suitcase, sleeping on an air mattress in an empty apartment this entire time. Not to mention the constant anxiety of not knowing when or IF I will ever see my belongings again. Not once, had we received any type of apology from any of these employees for the great inconvenience their incompetence had caused, or for the lies of their sales reps. After 5 weeks, we finally have a delivery date, and after 5 hours past the time they were supposed to deliver, I am met with a rude mover who does nothing but complain about having to climb up 3 flights of stairs (which, this was disclosed to the company at the start of the process), and having to put together furniture that the pick up team had taken apart for moving. Neither of the movers wore masks at any point during the delivery, coming into my home during a global pandemic, which was just icing on the cake. If you are thinking about using this company for a move I URGE you to reconsider. I would have rather rented a U-Haul, driven across the country alone, and moved it myself. This was my first time moving a long distance across the country, and trusting Handle With Care was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. read more

1st. No masks worn upon pick up. I offered one and he refused. I was supposed to pay in 3 installments which I agreed to. 1st was on the date I called them, 2nd on the date of pickup. Night before someone called and said I had to pay them plus they hiked the price up $900. I paid with debit card because they kept saying my CC wasn't going through (which is completely ridiculous). That should have been my red flag. The movers were 9 hours late. Now I physically am at my destination and they want more money. Half of the remaining balance which I again paid. It's been 2 weeks and still no delivery. They NEVER return calls, don't answer the phone, & if I'm lucky enough to speak to a human, they are rude, insulting and hang up on me. Truly unbelievable. DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT use this moving company. This company is shady and totally unprofessional. If you have already secured your deposit, CANCEL your move with this company and go with another one. It will save you time, money, and headaches. They are quick to answer phone calls and emails in order to secure your deposit to schedule your move. But once that part has happened, you will not be able to get in contact with anybody from the company without jumping through so many many hurdles. I secured my move via deposit (AMEX) over the phone (don't do) from TN to SC on Aug 25,2020 and received my Binding Estimated via email for scheduled move Aug 30,2020. The movers did not come until Aug 31,2020. After loading up my items, the company is now forcing me to pay over $4,000 the agreed upon Binding Moving Estimate. They did not provide me with a new estimate prior to loading up my items. Here it is Oct. 4,2020 and I still have not received any of my items. The manager Eli, yelled at me, cussed me out, called me stupid, and made me feel inadequate. He told me if I paid the amount on the Binding Moving Estimate, they would deliver some of the items and then I could pick up the other items from storage. He lied to me and everyone that works for him and the company are scoundrels of liars. I secured my deposit via Amex and have an email to prove that it went through, but the day my items are loaded onto the trucks, now they are telling me my deposit did not go through, and I have to pay that amount as well as other fees before they would deliver anything? But yet, after I sent some of the money on Sept 10, I have not heard anything about the progress of my move. They have not called me or emailed me to see if I'm satisfied with their service or how we can make this dissatisfaction go over smoothly. If we could have agreed to a new moving price estimate, then I would not have been so upset, but instead now they have in a sense muscled me into paying more for my own items back! The company does not know how to talk to consumers or how to handle business matters properly. I urge you to read all reviews before choosing a moving company in general, but DO NOT choose this one. I'm waiting over a month for my items to be moved from Chicago to Knoxville. No contact from the movers, won't answer their phones, won't respond to email or texts. Every call goes straight to voicemail once you get past the automated system. Changed their prices on the day of pickup, used a broker when they aren't authorized by the FCMA to be brokers, and don't tell you this on their website or when the move is arranged. Charged me by cubic volume, not weight as required by law. I didn't pay attention, and I got taken. Saw the good reviews on google and believed them. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY, look at their reviews on BBB.com. They are liars and thieves! read more

If I could leave a negative star I would. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I didn't hire them directly, I went through a broker, which was a mistake, but they are the least professional moving company ever. First I was grossly under quoted for my move, and ended up paying way more, then upon the date of my move they told me they weren't going to make it and show up the next day. When someone finally arrived they didn't handle my stuff with care at all. When the day arrived for me to move into my new residence, they didn't show up. I was told the company has 35 BUSINESS DAYS to deliver my items. Several of my items never arrived when they finally showed up and the stuff that did arrived broken and dirty. When you try to call their customer service representatives they are rude, disrespectful, put you on hold for 30+ minutes, and hang up on you. If you care about your stuff, DO NOT USE THIS company. Save yourself the nightmare and hire a truck yourself to do the move. This company is the worst and should be out of business yesterday. read more

Very unprofessional service and continuously tried to include additional charges that were not agreed upon. These people are scammers.

This company is a scammer. They-tell-you-how-they are licensed carriers and that they are not brokers. Yet, they are definitely brokers. They draw you in with a low ball estimate. You get other quotes and their quote is the lowest. You look on their website and they are posing as the actual carriers. Then once they pick up your stuff and load, the price shoots up to almost double the quote. Thereafter, it turns out,- you can't ever get a hold of these people on the phone to complain about the price, because it turns out they are not the carriers. You get contacted by other companies for payment and delivery. You now have to pay a company that you have never talked to and there was no formal introduction, because they were trying to conceal the fact that a different company would ship your stuff. The "other company" it turns out has terrible customer service - not picking up calls and hanging up before you say a word, because they see you as a number, and they have your possessions so you there's nothing you can do but suck it up and pay up. Don't fall for these scammers. I actually read the reviews of the company they used as movers (American Home Relocation); the reviews are also terrible, but the direct pricing was cheaper than my 1 bedroom move by almost half.
