Yelp review For…read moreanyone considering getting electrolysis: GO SEE MARY!! She is amazing. I had never gotten electrolysis before and was debating between that and laser hair removal. I found a groupon for Mary and decided to give it a try. She was so warm and welcoming from the first time I talked with her. We set up an appointment, where she explained electrolysis 101 and got started right away. She is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled!! It was so nice to have someone explain the entire process to me, what exactly she'd be doing and how it works to get rid of hair. (Side note: did you know that electrolysis is the only *permanent* hair removal method?? Not laser! I had no idea.) Mary's Fort Mill studio is clean, simply and beautifully decorated, and is designed to put you at ease. I think she also has a home office, but it's further from me so I haven't been there. Ok, I'll be honest here: electrolysis is no walk in the park. It hurts like a b*tch. But Mary is so sweet and will adjust the settings to make sure it's manageable for you. She also has numbing cream you can buy in sample packs for a small fee. Plus, Mary is quick! So even though it's painful, she gets a lot done in a short amount of time. Electrolysis is a commitment. During my first appointment, Mary warned me that it's a process and I needed to trust the process. She explained all about hair growth cycles and why I'd be seeing more hair than ever before (I was a regular plucker). She was right, of course!! But there's been progress over time. She repeatedly went back and forth with me about what services I had done there, which I am fully aware of. I only came here for the fill-in because my usual nail tech was booked.
