After settling myself into Fort Collins I was referred to Dr. Murphy and his staff. I cannot say enough good things about them!! From start to finish they made me feel so good and taken care of. I never had any question of their capability simply by how thorough they were. In a previous wisdom tooth removal due to emergency I had to have one tooth taken out and was very heavily sedated, it was not very comfortable. I walked into Dr Murphy's office with some usual Jitters about having to undergo surgery but I was in and out in a flash. I was amazed to remember waking up in the office and my wheelchair ride all the way down to the car. Ever since I've been healing wonderfully and I'm so glad I got the opportunity to visit Doctor Murphy and his staff. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Fortunately, by going to Dr. Shumaker or Dr. Paris, you will have helpful, experienced, kind people with you on the journey. The staff, technicians, and dentists are all world class, and will guide you through the process, including the details on what your insurance will, or won't, cover. If you have to have a procedure, like an extraction or an implant placement, you will get a detailed explanation of what will happen, several options for what kind of anesthesia or pain control you'd like, and instructions for post-op care. Getting bad dental news is no fun, no question about it. But having wonderful professionals like Drs. Paris & Shumaker (& their team) to help you through can make a huge difference. All they want is your money and they will nickel and dime you as long as they can. The doctor was unqualified and should not be practicing on people until he gains more experience. When I returned the same day with bleeding complications, Dr. Thurgood applied sutures WITHOUT any local anesthetic and WITHOUT warning me this would be painful. The experience was traumatic - I had severe pain and difficulty breathing during the procedure. Beyond this incident: Minimal pre-operative counseling about what to expect or watch for No information provided about common complications like dry socket (which I developed) Poor availability for post-operative support when complications arose I ultimately needed care from another oral surgeon, Dr. Michael Bingham, whose professionalism and clear communication showed me what proper care looks like. Patients deserve informed consent, appropriate pain management, and accessible follow-up care. I did not receive these basic standards. The lack of communication and transparency made a routine procedure unnecessarily difficult and traumatic. I share this to help others make informed decisions about their care.

The IV start was smooth, the room was warm and comfortable and music was playing. I felt very at ease. My pain is minimal and the bleeding stopped immediately. I had been experiencing some blinding pain and scheduled an appointment for a dentist to look over my teeth and help identify the cause - this insurance coordinator booked me 10 days out full well knowing and approving me paying out of pocket. Less than a day before my appointment, she called and left me a voicemail simply stating they would not be able to see me tomorrow or ever. When I called back to inquire, the receptionist and insurance coordinator became agitated and defensive going so far as to raise her voice over the phone with phrases such as "are you serious?" and "I don't know what to tell you". I did not once raise my voice or speak disrespectfully to the staff. Shame I never got to interact with the dentists or hygienists as they come highly recommended. Would not recommend this dental office to anybody due to the unaccommodating nature and overall lack of ethicality handling a situation with an individual experiencing extreme distress due to dental related pain.

The assistant was experienced, professional but most importantly she was kind, gentle and friendly as she took my full set of xrays. The doctor came in and he considered all of my concerns after checking my medical history. He did a cancer screening and checked my gums in addition to evaluating my xrays. I never felt rushed, yet I did see their concern for my dental care. The dental hygienist, Jamie was super gentle. My husband, daughters, their family members all go to this office.
