We've had workers come into our home who had no clue what they were doing, left parts laying around instead of plugged in where they were supposed to be, and behaving in ways that I'd just say we did not care for and were very surprised by. When we called we'd get no response after multiple attempts, emails would go unanswered, and on and on. The more interactions, the worse the treatment got. When we looked at the DPOR website that checks licensing for the State of Virginia, we quickly learned that the actual company had either been bought out or taken over or merged (however you want to say it), by some company. I don't know the reason(s) for what in my opinion is unsatisfactory customer service or if being acquired has anything to do with it; but....yeah.....in a world gone insane, I don't need the drama of no responses after multiple calls and emails and service I find unacceptable.

Pretty scary with no idea exactly what was going on. I rolled the dice and called cole's based on the other Yelp reviews as well as post on the website. My first impression was positive as the dispatcher that I called was concerned and also informative. She gave me a good idea of the work already on their schedule and when they could arrive. We shared a laugh about the local roads nearby and just really connected from the first minute. When Jay and Seth arrived they were both very professional. In a matter of minutes I had explained what happened they asked some critical questions so they could start their analysis and they dug in. They tested each of the switches in my panel, they checked outside at the electrical meter to see if my power company was the problem, and they ultimately decided that one of the breakers was bad. At that point they were able to show the buzzing that indicated the breaker was bad. We tested by applying load with different appliances in the house. Everything worked out and the job was done. Total cost was less than $300 which is a great price for any electrical visit but most importantly matched what I was supposed to expect. They also were responsive and quickly scrambled to my service call with limited delay

I did a little research of reviews for HVAC companies in Chesapeake and found Simmons had great ratings. I found quickly why they had 5-stars! My previous HVAC contractor had been out twice and I was left with, " you need a new thermostat" and left with a cold house. That's when I found Simmons. They were very responsive and were out within 8 hours. The technician was very polite, professional and explained everything about the system (since I was unfamiliar with a dual-fuel system). He identified the problem and made the necessary repairs quickly. Having had a great experience then, I put the system under contract with them. Since then they have not let me down. They have kept my system in excellent condition. This week I suddenly had an issue with heat. Called and had a technician here within 3 hours. He got the system working but the next day I had the same issue and on one of the coldest days the system was out again. I called after hours and within 15 minutes had a call back from the on-call tech who said he would be here in 20 minutes. He was. The problem was so minute, a loose connection, but trouble shooting that was a pain for him, but he found the problem within 15 minutes. Simmons is my only HVAC system contractor. I know the age of the existing system and understand it only has a few years left in it. I feel confident that Simmons will keep it running great and when the dreaded day comes, it will be Simmons technicians installing a new system.

This guy came in and genuinely had my best interest at heart. I disclosed that I was shopping around and I had other quotes scheduled. We discussed my plans and needs and he was extremely knowledgeable and informative of the entire process. At no time did he ever push something on me, if anything he advised of practices to be weary of with ANY installer I should choose. He explained clearly what sets Miller's apart from the competition and I must say that even if I don't choose to use them for this specific project, I will be a future customer. Pricing and appraisals were very transparent and clearly defined throughout our meeting. I typically don't leave reviews (good or bad) but Aaron left such an impression, I felt it necessary. I had a list of items for estimate and, in order to find out the cost for each item, he had to remove all others to be able to tell me. Also, they will email a link to the estimate (not an attachment) and the link will expire in 7 days. It seems to me they are strategies to make it more difficult to compare quotes. I wanted 4 can lights and was told that I'd need a new electric panel for that to happen. I was quoted around $5,200 for a new electric panel (after having to ask specifically for the cost of this item). I mentioned that I put a panel in 3 years ago for a similar sized home and it was $2,500ish. I just got another quote for this home. It was $2,700 and I was also told I didn't need a new panel to add the 4 can lights.
