I explain to them that due to a layoff our insurance changed and that we do have coverage. When we get in the office they tell us that the insurance doesn't start until the following month. We are told we need to pay a $250 'deposit' but that they will hold off on charging it until we work out the insurance situation. We pay because our daughter is supposed to get a cast off for a broken arm. My wife calls her employer benefits person and leaves a VM. After making us wait they finally see my daughter - 30 minutes late. Then my wife gets a call back from the benefits person. She hands the phone directly to the office manager and the benefits person explains that there was an error and we do have coverage. At checkout, the practice manager assures us they will hold off on charging the card for $250. Later in the afternoon the charge is put through. The whole visit was negative and uncomfortable because we were worried the entire time about the insurance. The staff practically treated us like criminals. I actually suggested that maybe they could check a day before for people's insurance to avoid this type of situation. The office manager just brushed it off and said they check on the morning of. Why did I even bother? Do not recommend.

The procedures were life changing, as I have been suffering with the issues these surgeons corrected for over ten years. I read these negative reviews and all I see are cry babies whose feelings were hurt. I have found the staff in Newburyport to be very nice, and all the pre-surgery events equally pleasant. And while Dr. Ozuna may not be jolly or effusive, we are not voting for Mr. popular here. I found him to be reserved and pleasant. But most importantly a great surgeon. He could be a comple A 0 and I would still go to him for his surgical skills. And the same goes for Dr. Mattheos (although I could see him being voted as Mr. Popular). Yes sometimes it takes a bit to get someone on the phone. But I don't have a lot of patience and have never lost it trying to get through.

One of the best docs out there. When I injured my foot last year, I limped - on crutches - sobbing…read moreinto the podiatrist's office affiliated with a major Boston hospital. The podiatrist barely even looked at me before saying "it's a sprain, you'll be fine by Monday." I angrily told him it was NOT a sprain, that I knew my body and something was wrong. That night had me back in ER for excruciating pain. Enter Dr. Friedberg the following week who, after some manipulation of my foot, and some questions concluded that I had a fascia tear that would probably take a few months to heal. Man was I glad I went to Dr. Friedberg! My foot did take a few months to heal, but he was nothing but kind, gentle, and professional through the entire process. He offered tips and tricks on how to regain strength and reduce pain, showed me my MRI images, and explained things in very simple and detailed ways. I cannot say enough good things about him, especially if you need a second opinion.
