Nearly ten years later, this is still the only place I trust for physical therapy. The quality of care has been consistently excellent from day one. Before finding ProForm, I went through several physical therapists and pain management programs for chronic upper back and rhomboid pain. Nothing ever provided real or lasting relief. When I first met Chad Burnham, the owner, he brought me in right away, took the time to understand what I had been dealing with, and gave me hands-on treatment that helped immediately. That first session set the tone for all the years that followed. Chad is an exceptional physical therapist. His approach is targeted, knowledgeable, and based on real skill rather than generic exercises. Over the years he has successfully treated me for shoulder issues, knee pain including a meniscus tear, lower back pain, muscle strains, and recurring rhomboid tightness. Every visit feels purposeful and productive. ProForm also offers a convenient payment pack where you can prepay for visits. It makes check-in simple, especially if you come regularly, and the invoices can be submitted to insurance if your plan reimburses PT. What makes ProForm stand out is that Chad goes far beyond standard physical therapy. He understands fitness, nutrition, and overall physical health at a high level. He has transformed his own body, has competed in bodybuilding, and uses that knowledge to help his patients improve not just pain, but their overall physical condition. His advice has played a major role in my own weight loss and health improvement. The staff have been with him for many years, which says a lot about the environment he has built. They are friendly, organized, and always helpful with scheduling. The other physical therapists who work beside Chad maintain the same professionalism and quality of care. ProForm Physical Therapy is an elite practice. They deliver real results, care about their patients, and combine physical therapy, fitness, and nutrition in a way that truly makes a difference. I recommend them without hesitation.

I am learning a lot in terms of stretches and strength building exercises. Highly recommend Chad Burnham, PT at ProForm Physical Therapy!

Any time I see Krista I feel significantly better after!! It was helpful to start seeing her as a preventative measure as she helped to make sure my muscles were well-balanced and loose (loose enough for a runner anyway!). She truly cares about her patients and I really like that she explores natural treatment methods that really work. I can't say enough about how great of a physical therapist she is. Both my husband and I had gone to her for over 3 years seeing her for both running and Crossfit injuries. She was able to diagnose and treat accordingly. She was a one woman shop so she really spent that full hour with you working through the injuries. Each session ended with exercises that I needed to do at home. Being in the Crossfit community I am around a lot of injuries. I would always recommend Krista because she just had that touch to make people better. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and personable. I can honestly say it feels like I lost a friend when she moved. Denver is lucky to have her!

In four words, This Is The Place!…read more I am 66 and have been confined to a wheelchair for the last couple of years. When my wife needed surgery on her foot (no weight-bearing for ten weeks) she decided that she needed some sort of a break from having me home all the time. I have Home Health Aides who get me up and also back into bed. I was in a local rehab and a retirement community (for more rehab) after the surgery that put me in the wheelchair in 2007. I wasn't keen to go back to a retirement community, but it was necessary. I had bladder infections and odd colds that were going around the community. When I came home after over a year I had trouble with my bowels and I thought all of this was par for the course. This time I was determined to pick a better place to stay. I looked around on the web, and one of the places that caught my eye was Amesbury Village (AV) in the next town over. I wanted a place with Internet access and a generally higher standard. AV didn't have Internet (sort of) so I was resigned to having a crap shoot on the services. I was booked in for respite care for three weeks in May 2010. I never thought I'd recommend a retirement community, but AV is so good I can't let it go unnoticed. The negatives I mention later may need more words than the positives, but the place is great for rehab, respite care, and residential stays. If you or your elderly relatives need attention, in my view you'll have trouble doing better. The main reason for this is the staff. I've been in communities where half the staff is just there because you can get a job as an aide with little training, and in those sorts of places they just want to get through their shift with as little work as possible. One place I was at had an aide called "Lost Larry," who often vanished from the night shift for several hours. He always had a glib explanation for his absence, and the rest of the staff had given up trying to find him. In all my time at AV, no-one ever failed to do their job, and most of the time they would go above and beyond to satisfy your needs. My specific need was for extra cookies in the evening snack (not that I needed them, I was just greedy), and if one aide satisfied such a selfish need, then every aide from that night on would automatically give me the same every night. But it's not about spoiled brats like me. Retirement home residents are mainly made up of people with dementia and Alzheimer's, and when they're not being combative, they're staring at the walls. But people you might call no-hopers got plenty of staff attention. I couldn't do this with those people, but the staff is dedicated. And when you've looked around a bunch of retirement communities, they all look the same. You really have to see them between nine a.m. and six p.m. So let's give a big hand to the people who work there. Staff Nurse Andrea and her afternoon/evening crew, and Staff Nurse Jane and her morning people, including Ms. Boom-De-Ay (sorry, in-joke there). I can't think I've met a single person there who I thought should be replaced by someone with a better attitude. There's plenty to do, but of course most of the people there love the old folk's staples like bingo and old-fashioned music. But Jane, the Activities Director, along with her staff, have a whole host of things going on. While I was there we had a visit from a guy who brought along a whole bunch of exotic animals, including a sixteen-foot Burmese python, a smaller snake, a rat, and a whole gang of more cuddly creatures. Almost all the residents watched and stroked the beasts. To give you some idea of how the staff cares, I had an appointment at a hospital on the day when the lift broke for a couple of hours. Donna, the Unit Manager, not only apologized profusely, but called the hospital to say I wasn't coming and fixed up an alternative date and time - all without asking. Although AV keeps its residents on the floor that their rooms are in, many people can roam around. I'd often go down to the sun deck and work on my tan, while watching cardinals at the bird feeder and squirrels athletically swinging down to get to the seeds first. This used to be my favorite place to avoid Jimmy and Colleen of the Therapy Department, but they found me in the end. What's not to like? Not much. In order of annoyance, from least to most: The elevator is slow and unreliable, but it's better than some I've seen and a replacement would cost a million dollars. The food is good by residential home standards. If you like old folk's comfort foods, it won't be too bad. The lack of Internet: Not total, as you could pick up poor signals from someone's network a hundred yards away. And the worst point? The lack of reliable hot water. Quite often you couldn't shower because the water was barely above cold. They should do something about this as soon as possible. But in spite of these faults, I'd go back if I have to.

I went immediately to my chiropractor down the street to see if he could fix it. I ended up getting an MRI on my back. I had herniated the disc and had a couple of bulged discs. I went to a back surgeon that wanted to operate on my back, with no guarantees that it would be fixed. I knew I didn't want surgery or cortisone shots. I've heard too many bad things about them. I told my chiropractor what was going on and he thought that maybe he could help me, but it would take a very long time. In the meantime, Marty Turner owner of the Sacred Tree Massage and Reiki in Newburyport, who I had briefly met through some mutual friends, heard what happened and reached out to me. I knew nothing about massage therapy but was willing to try. Between my chiropractor and Marty Turner, I was pretty much back to normal in 6 months. I own a horse farm, so I'm very active mucking stalls, carrying 5-gallon jugs of water and moving 40 lbs. of hay daily. In the fall I'm raking up about 30 yrds of leaves. I also love to hike and ride in the side x side ATVs. I'm now 65 and still doing all of these things and more. I do go regularly once a month for a 1/2 hr massage to loosen up the muscles. I tried in the beginning to stop going monthly, but found out quickly that I needed to go. If Marty was able to fix my back with the help of the chiropractor, then I suggest that people give him a chance. He is very kind, honest, professional and makes you feel at ease. He will listen intently as to what's going on and will do his best to resolve the issues. Keep in mind, things don't always get fixed with just one visit. It could take several for the muscles to relax and release.
