We've purchased meat here a couple of times and have been pleased thus far. Grab a number as soon as you enter and peruse the selection while you wait. They sell frozen items- veggies, rolls, and seafood. They have an assortment of sausages, bacon, bologna, ribs and such in the cooler. The meat counter is full of different cuts and preparations of beef, pork, and so on. The service is friendly and efficient. "Quality and fair pricing". OK. I'm in town with the in-laws for the Christmas holiday. Yesterday we stopped at Hampton meats to get a few steaks and some hamburger, and the first thing that I noticed was that the meat is higher than Whole Foods at Whole Foods in Green Hills Nashville. But it's not grass-fed. When we got home, we fired up the grill, my father-in-law cooked some steaks, and he knows how to cook steaks. They looked great, they were tough as nails. OK. I'll let that pass because it happens sometimes. But today, when my husband went to the refrigerator to get out the hamburger, it was grey. I'm attaching a few pictures. (Please note that the iPhone doesn't truly show how gray this meat is. It seems to have added a little bit of color, but this stuff was grey ) Needless to say, the whole family was a little irked, and if I did live here, I would never go back. This meat is horrible, overpriced, and only God knows how old it really is. One more complaint is the girl at the deli counter. I don't know if she didn't wanna work on Christmas Eve day, but she had an attitude that put me right off. She acted like it was a big pain in her fat butt to slice a few pounds of cheese for me. And while she didn't throw it on the counter, she certainly didn't put it down nicely and she didn't say thank you. I was told since Hampton's changed hands, the quality and the service has been subpar. I can attest to that. read more

e needed to introduce our Kentucky family to Tri Tip, a staple from our home in California. While visiting family, we called Hampton Meats to see if they had any, and the friendly voice on the other end confirmed they did! We hopped in the car and drove from Madisonville to their shop, where we bought two beautiful cuts of Tri Tip. We seasoned them up and put them on the pellet grill for two hours. Our family was pretty impressed! The staff at Hampton Meats were so friendly and helpful, making our experience even better. We'll definitely be back next time we are in town! read more

Warning!!! Hamptons is under new ownership and these people don't have a clue what they are doing. I shipped two cows for processing and the ground beef came back looking like pink slime and the steaks were tough as nails. They charge inflated prices for very poor quality service, DONT GO HERE TO PROCESS CATTLE! read more

We went to see how we could save money for our family of 7. They had packs of meat, buy 5 for $19.99. We got 5 packs of chicken legs, 5 packs of chicken thighs (bone in), 5 packs of cubed beef, and 10 pounds of ground beef ($12.05). Overall we spent $72 and change. They tend to you pretty quick and if your order is large like ours was, they take your order to the car for you. We will definitely be back to try some of their fish and sausage. What a shit show operation. Had a cow delivered 28 days ago and they just processed it. Out of 400 lbs dressed weight only got 160 lbs of beef, and they charged $1.00 per lb. When picking up the meat they had no idea who's order was what. Totally unorganized and will never have them process anything. I guess the rest of my cow went into the ground beef they sell for 2.39 a lb. Kept being promised my cow would be cut "tomorrow " and "tomorrow " apparently means two more weeks. read more

Quick and easy place to get meat. We go every 3-4 months to stock up. Grab a number when you walk in and start grabbing some deals. They have freezer items- but I've never even looked at those. Most of their items are at least .50-1.00 a lb cheaper than Walmart or Kroger's meat prices. read more

This place is great easy to find, the workers were all really nice, amazing selection, great prices, and they make sandwiches to boot.
