Fantastic!!! Second visit. The kids loved this hotel even more than the first time! Big kudos to the owner for thinking about everything a family could want when he was building the hotel! Note on new discovery: went the the Centre Market area to visit some very nice shops - antique - art - kids stuff - great bread and soup. About 15 minute drive. Also - for a Fantastic burger - try Avenue Eats - about 5 minute drive. ----------- What a deceptive hotel - all normal looking on the outside and all awesome on the inside. If you have kids - this is the place for you. The inside and outside aquatic areas make the normal hotel room look sooooo boring. For adults, the steam room and whirlpools are great - very clean. Our room - we had two adults and two youngins - 5 and 7. Rented the spa suite. In the middle range of prices - It was the nicest hotel room!!! We had a 60 inch tv with a surround sound system! A very large room! A super duper whirlpool! A beautiful bathroom. A very nice kitchen. All in all. It was super great! read more

Hampton Inn Wheeling - Here's to Jack - outside cooking us up some awesome fresh blueberry pancakes. - Hotels Near Me - Wheeling, West Virginia

This hotel has the best staff of any hotel I've stayed at. Their generous spirit and helpful attitude went a long way to make what would have been a difficult situation much more tolerable. We were staying at the hotel while my father was in the Wheeling Hospital. The hotel was nice and clean and everything in that way was fine. The best part of the stay though, was the staff. They genuinely wanted to help us with whatever we needed. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making it an enjoyable stay. My mother needed transportation to and from the hospital a couple days while I had to travel away. They were more than accommodating to her needs and took care of things beyond even what she would ask for. read more

We were on a road trip and had some car trouble. It was late at night and this was the closest hotel that we were near and thank goodness. From start to finish they were so helpful, kind, and the hotel was so clean and had a lot of offer. The best part was the free shuttle. We had to take our car to the shop and they picked us up and dropped us off- so helpful. Didn't think we would ever be in Wheeling WV but glad we ended up at the Hampton Inn! read more

I'm not sure where to start! I checked in with one of the managers, Steve; whom was super friendly and accommodating. I was traveling for work and I had my small dog with me. He checked me in quickly and informed me that if I needed anything, not to hesitate. Next, the breakfast. I've not seen a free breakfast quite like this one. From fruit to yogurt, to waffles, eggs, cold cereal, oatmeal. The list goes on. Plenty to pick from! My mom was also with me on this trip. Each person that we interacted with went above and beyond to be sure our stay was great. The gym was nice and clean and quiet. They were even nice to my pup!!! I mean, I traveled 4.5 hrs to work and picked this hotel but I would likely find another reason to travel here just to stay at THIS Hampton Inn!!! I wish I had thought to take pictures. But almost every time I came in/out of the hotel, there was someone cleaning. Personally, I'd give 6 stars if I could!!! read more

We are loyal to the Hilton chain, and out of all the hotels we've stayed in, this is most certainly our favorite. We have 2 small children and the aquatic center was perfect. We enjoyed the steam rooms and hot tubs as well. Breakfast was just what we needed, the rooms were cleaned with mindfulness, and above all the front desk staff was well dressed, knowledgable, and excellent all around at their jobs. read more

Hampton Inn Wheeling - The shallow end if the pool - Hotels Near Me - Wheeling, West Virginia

As far as family travel goes, this place rocks. We were greeted with a smile, checked in quickly. Nice fluffy beds, they wash sheets and the duvet covers every day. Roomy space, nice bathroom. The pool is incredible. Indoor and outdoor pools, nice and warm inside with waterfalls, saunas, steam rooms. A kid's paradise and open late to wear your kids out ;^) But wait, there's more...they sell booze in single serve plastic containers or bottles so you can imbibe by the pool. And it wasn't bad, either. There's truly something for everyone! We will absolutely be back! Nicely done!! read more

Being in wheeling you don't have too many choices for places to stay at, but this is one surprised me. I drove up and saw the old exterior, so I was skeptical at first. Walked in and changed my mind quickly. Staff was courteous. Renovated room and hallways. Very nice pool and a small gym. This will be where I stay at from now on every time I'm in Wheeling. read more

Amazing. Hidden Gem. We always stayed at Oglebay but when they were full we stayed here and it is the best place ever. staff is super friendly. Treat you like family. Great free meal every Monday evening. Great free breakfast. Awesome pool area, basketball and tennis courts, and corn whole too and so much more. Rooms are great, beds are extremely comfortable and rooms are extremely clean. We stay here EVERY chance we get. I would give it a 5 star ++++. They also have an outside fire pit where we have met so many nice folks. GREAT PLACE!!! read more

We stayed here on a Thursday night visit to a local school. The Spring Game was great, and the weather was amazing! The hotel was peaceful, clean beyond belief and the staff was friendly, professional and did everything to make our stay comfortable. There is a local shuttle provided by the hotel. There is also several restraints nearby in walking and short driving distance. We will stay here again in the future. read more

we are originally from the Ohio Valley, and returned last weekend with our 91 year old mother to visit some old friends. we stayed at the Hampton Inn simply because the rate was reasonable. WOW!!! I can't say enough great things about this experience...and a big shout out to the front desk - specifically Taylor. These guys did everything imaginable for us (we are big DiCarlos fans, and they actually stored our pizzas in their freezers overnight so that they would be safe for us to take home to our kids -:) ). I am a meeting planner and do extensive travel - staying at some of the worlds top resorts and hotels - and this weekend rated right up there with those. Kudos to your hotel and staff!!! we will return! read more

This hotel is by far the best that I have stayed in. Westin and Ritz included! The staff great you by name, apply snacks, give great local points of interest and directions. The pool and facilities were amazing. They have a mint oil in steam room. Room was well maintained. The towels fluffy and sheets soft! Breakfast hostess asked about special diets. The management and ownership host a happy hour from 5-8 on Monday evenings with dinner, beer and wine. read more

We love this hotel, we stay here whenever we are in town. (Minimum of once a year for the past 10 years.) The staff is always helpful and courteous. Very clean! No problem with parking. We stayed last night and from the moment we pulled up, we were offered assistance. Small problem with the tv was fixed right away, by the manager. Highly recommended. read more

I've been traveling all my life. I've stayed at hundreds of different hotels all over the world but always seem to have a better experience at Hilton owned hotels. Last night I stayed in Wheeling, West Virginia and I can confidently say that was the best experience I've ever had at a hotel. We were towing a small trailer and the security guard (I believe his name was Steve) was out looking for a good parking place for us, before we had even finished checking in. He helped us find a spot with a camera since we had a motorcycle on the trailer and just went above and beyond to help us and make us feel welcome. The man and woman at the front desk were smiling at us as soon as we came through the door and we immediately felt so welcomed and important. The rooms were impeccable, Stacy was our housekeeper and though you'd think hotel rooms are supposed to always be clean, we've had some bad luck in the past. It was SO relieving to walk into a room that someone actually paid close attention to when cleaning. No more finding hairs in the shower or stains on the bedding. I was so impressed with our stay, we joined Hilton Honors and will go out of our way if necessary to stay with Hilton. Thank you for such a positive experience. We were so tired after our long day of driving, it felt so nice to end the day on such a wonderful note. I'd come back to Wheeling just to stay there again. read more

The shower and the coffeemaker could have used another once-over. And definitely needed some drain-o in the sink. Room smelled a little bit of paint or some other kind of finish. Not the most pleasant, but not horrendous. As with most Hampton Inns --and I have stayed in many-- friendly service, good beds and good breakfast. CVS across the street is convenient. read more

Great place! Friendly folks. Great gym, pool and steam room. Nice rooms. When was the last time you were at a hotel and were greeted by the owner with free pizza and beer? And now the security guard walked up and brought me another glass of wine. - it's a Monday night thing. And here I thought Hospitality was a lost art. read more

We stayed at this hotel for a couple nights while exploring Oglebay and the Festival of Lights and could not have had a better experience! The staff was wonderful and very hospitable. Taylor was wonderful at making sure our needs were met at arrival (and prior to when making the reservation). Jack noticed our children admiring the fish tank and offered to feed them for us - which the kids loved. Very thoughtful! Kendall was super nice and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even offered to make us hot chocolate one evening. Breakfast was hot and fresh and under the covid rules, they made sure we got plenty and served each of us safely with a smile. Our whole family of 6 enjoyed the aquatic center (especially the outdoor hot tub!) and the steam shower was very relaxing. All around, a wonderful time. The hotel was very clean and we felt safe seeing the hard work and extra effort the housekeeping staff was putting in. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and we hope to visit again! Prices very affordable and worth every penny (especially with all that you get). They exceeded our expectations! Oh, and the warm and fresh cookies at check-in put a smile on everyone's face from the very beginning! :) Merry Christmas! read more

Just checked out today. We are traveling cross country from Carlsbad, CA to the Jersey Shore. What a fabulous stay we had! The friendly service, great shower, clean room, complimentary shuttle, goodie bag for our road trip were all amenities that we loved ~ we only wish we had more time to spend sightseeing in historic Wheeling :) read more

This is a phenomenal place to stay! The service is OUTSTANDING. After accidentally spilling coffee on my bed, the front desk employee (Taylor) actually went himself to change the sheets and remake the bed, even though I told him that he could have just left a sheet and I would make the bed later. We were in town for a wedding and much of the family and other wedding guests we're staying at the hotel. They allowed us to use the lobby space throughout the entire day as a place to hang out before the wedding, before the reception, and even after the wedding. The Hampton shuttle also drove us out to get DiCarlos pizza for the after party! They are very accommodating with special requests. Undeniably the best Hampton I have stayed in across the U.S. (And I've stayed in many). Would always recommend 100% of the time! read more

Wonderful! I was not looking forward to this vacation but this hotel was great. The aquatic center is great for kids and adults. I felt like it was spa day, my kid had a great time. I'm not a habitual traveler, but business takes me around regionally several times a year. I've stayed here several times over the years and can honestly say the staff is wonderful. This is the second time we have stayed at this Hilton location and we will certainly be back! The staff are friendly and attentive. Jennifer, the manager, is genuine and wants all the guests to be happy with their stay. The free breakfast was filling and they had good options both mornings; waffles were available both mornings. It did seem that they had more variety Saturday than Sunday but, hey, it's free! The fish tank is a great feature. I do think the words "aquatic center," could be a bit misleading it is great space and more than most hotels but for those that may be looking for more of an indoor water park, this is not one. It is a nice sized pool, hot tub, sauna, and mini splash pad area. It is very nice but not a water park. Rooms were clean, standard size. Bed was a bit softer than we prefer but, just fine. read more

My husband and I stay at this hotel whenever we're in the area (usually twice a year to visit family). We really like the hotel- the staff are always very professional and friendly, and the rooms are quite comfortable. This last stay, the housekeeping could have been better, but I'm going to assume that the dust was due to many people taking the holidays off since I have never noticed a problem before. The continental breakfast is pretty standard fare- not great, but it's good for free breakfast, and the fruit is cut fresh. In the winter, there's an outdoor fire pit which is quite nice. We like the suites and feel they are definitely worth the upgrade. The one downside we've found to staying here is that we have never managed to use the aquatic center. The pools and hot tubs are crammed with children until they close each night. Speaking of, if you're staying in the summer, ask for a room on the opposite end of the building from the pool or the screaming kids in the outdoor pool will wake you every morning before 7. Unfortunately, there's nothing the hotel can do about bad parenting. read more

Wheeling West Virginia has a wonderful Hampton Inn. From making reservations to a very nice and clean room. There were 15 in our group and had 7 rooms. We were treated like honored guests from start to finish. Beautiful lobby area. Great pool area with steam baths, rainfall in the pool, and an inside and an outside hot tub. A splash pad for guests was also in the pool area. Tennis courts and corn hole as well. The shuttle service took care of all our side trips. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The staff was amazing. They all deserve a 10 star rating. Our stay was August 8-11 2019. read more

Best Hampton Inn I've ever been to. They take a lot of pride in their hotel. Highly recommended.

I have stayed in a lot of Hamptons, but this one is hands down the best. Excellent staff, amazing pool area with a rain waterfall from the ceiling, and the outdoor patio area is awesome. Even though this location is not the actual halfway point on my trips between the Midwest and East coast, I always stop here. The eucalyptus-scented steam rooms are worth the extra few hours of driving! read more

really nice experience.
