Plenty of box springs and mattresses

A typical Hampton Inn, Clean lobby, friendly desk clerk throw in a free bottle of water and snack. When I got to my room things weren't so typical. One bed was significantly lower than the other one. A bit of CSI Investigation, pulling back the bedspread, revealed that one bed didn't have a box spring. Further CSI Investigation, looking out the window, revealed a dumpster full of box springs and mattresses.

    Stained chair!!

Dirty furniture price for a Hampton member was ridiculously expensive. Breakfast not what I expected.

This is the most disgusting Hilton Hotel I ever stayed at!

This is the MOST DISGUSTING Hilton Hotel I have ever stayed at! Bloody sheets from prior guest, and cigarette ashes in the bathroom!

I've stayed at this hotel before (pre-covid) and it was then mediocre at best but the service staff has always been very kind to me. I choose to stay here because of the location. However this time was different. The staff was still very kind but the cleanliness, or lack of, in the room was awful. We didn't check-in until after 8pm but did reserve the room earlier in the week. I didn't use the shower because there was a used washcloth hanging on the shower curtain rod. The carpet around the beds was not thoroughly vacuumed and the bathroom floor was also not cleaned completely. I went down at 9:30am to get a cup of decaf coffee but they were out. When I asked breakfast attendant, she told that there was light roast, dark roast and juice available. I kindly said no thank you I don't drink juices or caffeine. She said, "oh ok". Since they serve coffee all day I expected that she would offer to make another pot but that didn't happen. This is the last time that I'll stay here. I'll drive into Chattanooga from now on to stay at a nicer hotel from now on after this very disappointing stay. I'm only giving this spot 2-stars because the folks at the front desk are consistently nice and caring.

Most doors in the second floor look like this.

There was grease or oil stained all over my nightstand. There were crumbs/ debris all over the floor and bed frame. There were pubic hairs on the nightstand. Then I went into the bathroom and immediately noticed a curly and long black hair on the sink counter. Even though it was late, we wanted to sit in the lobby area and chill out. Surprisingly enough, it was much cleaner down there so we relaxed a little before heading to bed. We purchased some drinks from the market and watched television. The front desk person was super friendly, attentive, and nice. We also requested a late check out, which she was able to give us until noon. I wish I got her name because she went out of her way to check on us multiple times while watching tv, including offering us the remote. She was about 5'3", dirty blonde hair, late 40's/ early 50's, Caucasian. Unfortunately we did not make it to breakfast due to us sleeping until after breakfast hours. Shower time was not fun. When I was at the conditioning hair point, the shower floor was flooded. I had to turn off the water to wait for the water to slowly drain. It was a first since the shower had a long strip for a drain. Luckily housekeeping was not pounding on the door when I took a couple minutes longer than noon. The rooms definitely need some checking in on but the staff were nice.

Once you turn on that street, the entrance to the motel parking lot is about a block further. There is a good amount of parking, with handicapped spaces on either side of the entrance. There is also a gravel lot for overflow, but the only vehicles I saw there were ones pulling trailers. The lobby is bright and open, with the check in desk on the right. We have been greeted quickly every time we have stayed here. The desk staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms have all been nice and up to date. The motel is generally quiet, even with various travelling sports teams are staying there. There is a pool we have used a few times. The breakfast is pretty extensive and good. They do a good job of keeping up with demand without making so much it sits there too long. They also have some local sauces to add to your eggs. I would be remiss to not mention Miss Marriott, the stray cat who lives in the area. She is sweet and selectively friendly, and hangs out on the patio outside the dining area most mornings. Overall, we have been pleased with the accommodations as well as the staff here.

The manager is never there, and as I was told, "does not keep regular hours." The ice machine was broken the whole time we were there and every time you go in the elevator you take your life in your hands. Most people took the stairs because they were afraid of the elevator. They do not clean regularly. There was a cookie on the floor in our hallway for four days. The staff is a gut punch. They charged us all in advance for the full stay before check-in and proceeded to get a few dozen declines. Carol, the horrific and neurotic person at the front desk blamed everything on her non-existent manger passing it off on him to say he ordered her to do it and it was a regular procedure. Which of course if you have traveled outside of this hotel you know it is not. Carol yells at you on the phone and threatens to cancel your reservation. Even though she cannot recall putting you on hold for 15 minutes and forgetting about you. They charged my card wrong and unlawfully then proceeded to call me rude and yell at me on the phone. Carol, the clear dimmest light of this place, hung up on me five times. The manager will not call you back no matter how many messages you leave him. I honestly believe it is a lie, he does not exist. The insane are running the asylum. I have filed a complaint with IHG Corporate and have contacted my bank to report fraud. And all of this for over $200 a night not including taxes and fees.

The AC somewhat works, and of course dirty, the floor is scuffed and damaged. Going down the stairs, completely dirty. We had made reservations online but did not find out until we checked in they were undergoing pretty extensive renovations. The lobby was blocked off and we had to use a courtesy phone to get the clerk's attention. She then came to a side window and completed the registration. She indicated the foyer we were currently in would be cleaned up by the next morning and they would have a limited breakfast available. This information should have been presented in the online registration portal to allow potential customers to make an informed decision as to whether they wanted to stay there, especially when there is another motel right next door. The room itself was nice. It was older but clean and had all the typical amenities anticipated. We were at the rear of the building so there was no road noise and the room was pretty quiet. The next morning the foyer area included only yogurt and packaged breakfast items. Again, this information was not available prior to booking and no price break was offered for the lack of the advertised breakfast option. This motel may be much improved when the renovations are complete, but potential customers staying during the renovations need to be told of the changes up front.

After reading some of the reviews on Hotels.com, I wasn't sure what to expect. Gotta set those expectations correctly, folks! Otherwise, you're gonna be a real joy to be married to...for the fourth time. But I digress. Anyway, this is a newer property. Looks as if it's less than three years old as of Summer 2013. Rooms are basic and clean. Restrooms are sharp, with perfectly functioning fixtures, tubs with showers, and large countertops around the sink. Each room has a decent size refrigerator as well as a microwave. 27-31" television worked fine. Desk and office chair, small couch with ottoman. Bed was firm but not at all hard or uncomfortable. Ample floor space for luggage, hanging space for clothing, and A/C unit also worked like a charm. The walk in rate is completely reasonable and we scored an even better deal online. Staff was friendly, breakfast was better than at the America's Best Value Inn we stayed at the previous night. Bottom line: if you need a safe, clean, quiet, comfy place to sleep, this is it! You won't find a better price for a new property. Oh, and an overall tip for hotel guests: leave the room in good shape, and check your dirty shoes before you come in. Then you won't have to worry about contributing to any property's uncleanness! :-D
