We slept blissfully! The rooms were clean and comfortable with well stocked bathrooms. Our morning breakfast was delicious, well prepared and plentiful. In addition, the staff was friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to stop here again. read more

Horrible! Do not stay here. Filthy and smelled in hallways. I asked what smell was, and no one knew... My credit card was charged 3 times unauthorized. Somehow a second room was mysteriously booked and they charged me for a second room during my stay. I did not feel safe and left hotel earlier than planned. I drove 37 miles away to feel safe! Breakfast was gross. No one knew anything and manager was absent entire stay. I travel every week past 25 years. Will never return. I did not feel comfortable nor safe. Edenton deserves a better hotel than this operation. read more

Visited for a family vacation and everything was great. Breakfast, staff, facilities and amenities. Emily, Charity, Brittni and Marcus are all top notch front desk workers. The main stars of the show were the housekeepers and property maintenance workers. Throughout the day, all of them were continuously moving and ensuring the upkeep of the hotel. Even the breakfast lady in the mornings made you feel like you mattered and was very attentive to any other foods you may have requested. SUPERIOR RATED SERVICE HERE! read more

First off, they can start by actually cleaning the rooms. I walked into the bathroom and there was all kinds of hairs all over the sink and in the shower and on the toilet and the bathroom reeked of urine you can tell that they don't clean because there are cobwebs in between the microwave and the refrigerator. Secondly, they need to know how their do not disturb signs work. If it says do not disturb and it is on the outside of the door that means do not knock. Do not ask for a housekeeping and do not under any circumstance enter the room unless it is an emergency. I went to breakfast with my husband this morning came back to check my room to get the stuff out and they had already entered my room and was cleaning it. I came here previously three weeks ago and I was laying in the bed sleeping and they tried to come in the room while I had a do not disturb sign on the door. read more

I cannot figure out why this Hampton Inn is so much more expensive than the rest. It was terrible. I paid $360 for 2 nights and that was an online special. I called the hotel to book the room and they wanted $240 per night! It's old, rundown and dirty. The rooms are small and the hallway smelled like there was an issue with backed up sewage. Do yourself a favor and stay at a nice B&B, there are so many in the historic town of Edenton. I had never been there before and had no idea what to expect. Cute town. read more

Used hilton honors rewards. GOLD STATUS. Treated by staff as a third class citizen from check in to check out. King Standard room was nice and thus the 2 stars. Breakfast person was friendly but was limited. Next trip to the area, planning another hotel or? read more

We need to cancel a reservation because we do not want to get others sick. The hotel will not cancel. She plans to charge me anyway, never staying at another HILTON property again. 3rd strike.................. read more

Was in town for a funeral. This spot was perfect. The bed was comfy and the hallways were clean and well lit. Only complaint is we were on third door and sodas are all on the main level. Slept well. read more

The reason for the score is the price. For what we paid I don't think I should have to ask for the correct number of towels every night after our room was cleaned and the last night they did not provide any towels. The over night person was unprofessional when approached about sanitary wipes in the gym in which he would not provide. The pillows was horrible. We did not rest well. This hotel is well over priced but it's the only decent hotel in the area which is why they probably charge so much. read more

Hampton Inn Edenton - No towels after room was cleaned! - Hotels Near Me - Edenton, North Carolina

I was looking for a hotel that was l little bit above your average mom and pop local motel usually found in small towns. Booked this hotel because it was one of the only name brand hotels in the area. The reservation got messed up and I had to call the hotel to get it straight, the price seemed a little high for such a small town but I was told it was the last room available and no discounts would be offered. We showed up at the hotel and while checking in the front desk lady commented about how high the price was, " I have never seen them charge this much for a room, lord have mercy " I inquired about it being the last room and she said no, they had plenty of rooms. At any rate we got to the room and found clock wasn't working, tv remote battery was dead, almost no tv channels, no extra pillows for the sofa bed, and no extra blankets. The towels would be good for wood workers to use as sandpaper, they were the roughest I've ever seen. The free breakfast was a joke, the lady serving was so stingy with the food you would have thought she was taking the leftovers home to her kin. Anyway, way over priced, paid for a Hampton inn and got a motel 6. I try somewhere else next time. read more

Very poor service and rooms even after the remodel are not kept clean. Management after COVID has gone downhill and staff members are rude. Stay in a B&A if you are in Edenton or go up to Elizabeth City. It's a shame because the manager that use to run the place pre renovation and COVID was great and I always looked forward to working in the area and staying there. read more

This hotel is very clean, staff is very friendly and the breakfast has a very good variety. it puts out popcorn and cookies at night. The hot buffet had scrabble eggs, sausage and pancakes. I would definitely recommend this hotel read more

Terrible. This place would do in a pinch, but I would not sray here again. I am a Diamond Hhonors member and stay at many Hampton Inns. This is in the bottom 2 of Hamptons I have stayed at. And it could have been better with some employee training. No real greeting upon arrival. Under staffed. As a Diamond member room upgrades should be complimentary. Their policy is to not upgade guests to better rooms. They wanted to charge a fee. No way. So I am given a room with a fridge and microwave. Get to the room, no fridge or microwave. So return to desk. Original clerk gone, new one is there. Sure, i can get a new room but there will be a cleaning fee since i have been in the room. Oh yeah, and a $10 rate increase. No way. And no way i can recommend this place to anyone ever. Ice machine is out of order. Laundry detergent is out. And they don't know when they will get more. No towels at the pool. Oh yeah, dated rooms, grimy bathrooms, soiled carpets. I really thought about just leaving and heading on down the road...... read more

This Hampton Inn is very nice. The breakfast is great - eggs, bacon, real potatoes. The lady who takes care of the breakfast room is wonderful and I spent time talking to her. The nicest front desk people you could ever meet. The rooms are very nice and well kept. Lots of fresh towels. The hotel is located close to the historic district so no worries if you come for the Pilgrimage. Yes I would come again. read more

This hotel is just like 80% of Hampton's I stay in. My room was clean, had all the items i needed and very quiet. The AC was good but the compressor for the main hotel unit busted while i was there so the main rooms were warm but they had many fans going. 3 stars for me means it is fine for a quick reasonable overnight stay. read more

1 star is about right for this place, not very frendly at check in, no soap, asked front desk again no soap what kind on motels charges 140 a night and does not have soap. Have always stayed here when in the area, guess we have to look for a hotel that offers soap read more

I made a reservation for my elderly parents for one night at this hotel. By total accident two rooms were reserved and one was prepaid night. After many attempts to work with the hotel locally and a corporate level they would not work with me to refund either one of the rooms. My parents have lived in this community for 25+ years. I will never stay at this hotel, a Hampton Inn or a Hilton for the rest of my life as a result of this situation. read more

As a long time diamond member and frequent patron of Hilton properties I am appalled by the customer service here! We use Hilton loyally on a weekly basis with three crews out there nearly 45 weeks per year. My experience with Hilton has been nothing short of phenomenal over the last 12 years. I feel like I have been shafted by a dear friend on this stay and it has nothing to do with the construction you have seen in other negative reviews. That construction is almost unnoticed with the exception of the great new rooms here but again this is not a problem. From the time we began the booking process it seemed something was a bit different, however this went unnoticed to a degree because it was something that needed to happen for our business. One advantage this place has is that there really is no other place to stay in the area. The girls at the desk made this very apparent as well... repeatedly! We booked three rooms at a undisclosed rate and when we realized we were given the wrong rate we rebooked. One room came out just fine at check in but the other two had the previous rate of 21 dollars more than our usual discount. A quick remedy for this would have been to waive the 21 dollars on two rooms for 3 weeks. Of course I wouldn't be writing this review had that happened. What they did was bad enough, but how they did it was much worse. The booking mistake was made by them but repeatedly blamed on us. We were consistently blamed for things we could not have controlled within their system. They even let us know that the booking appeared wrong to them but that they had no responsibility to follow up on it. Their solution was to cancel our rooms, rebook the duration of the stay at the cheaper rate, and finally break up the stay and move hotels for two days because they wouldn't hold our rooms after cancellation. We will be bunking people together for these nights all over 21 dollars per night. If we had kept the high rate however we could keep all three rooms for the entire stay. This is all common sense stuff that 3 rooms make more money than 2. 21/night dollars will end up costing Hilton a room at full rate and very well may cost them our business in the future. The staff at this hotel not only blamed us for everything but they never issued an apology and were very rude, at times even yelling and discussing their personal opinions against us. We brought nine people to this town over a few months and all of us had the same issues with this staff. I could go on and on about how disappointed I am in Hilton right now and I really hope they can restore our faith in the hotel chain we prefer but I doubt this will be the day that happens! read more

Excellent reception and check-in by desk staff, who were also very helpful in finding good places to eat in Edenton. The hotel is probably new, since it was in great condition. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast room person was also very nice and kept the food coming. read more
