On a recent trip to Burlington I choose this Hotel based on airport shuttle and location to a Bridal Shower. Upon arrival to the airport I called the Hotel for the shuttle which arrived 20 minutes later (can't complain because it was free). Upon check in the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and professional. The room itself smelled of cigarette smoke so bad that I had to return to the front desk to be assigned another room. The gentleman offered his apologies and quickly assigned me to another room. This is unfortunate that this happened as housekeeping should have never approved/claimed this room as clean. Anyways the new room was very clean and had no smell at all. The free breakfast in the morning was a very big assortment that changed each day, which was nice as I have stayed at other Hampton Inns and did not experience this. On check out I asked for the shuttle to the airport in which I was told it would be awhile because they were bringing other guests to a diner. I was very disappointed as I needed to get to the airport and I was told Airport shuttle was priority. The lady at the front desk gave me an attitude about it and I no longer felt welcomed. I ordered an uber and spent money just to leave. Overall very shocked about the differences in staff from the first day (shuttle pick up driver was very nice and friendly and front desk very helpful) to the last day where the two individuals were rude and made me feel like I was putting them out. Maybe the first two could train the other two. Tip make sure you give the front desk notice if you would like to use the shuttle. read more

Really pleasantly surprise at the service and amenities. Unlimited coffee for the guest and hot chocolate for the kids. Free breakfast in the morning was a nice plus for a family on a budget. The rooms were nice and clean and spacious enough for four. The staff was very friendly in helping our every questions. Would definently cone back. Forgot to mention cookies at check in.... This is one of my favorite Hamptons. Entrance/lobby has been renovated and is very nice. Fresh cookies at 8:30 pm. Mmmm

Really nice property. Great open lobby with big fireplace was welcoming, as was the friendly staff. Check-in was a breeze. The room itself was spotless, with a modern look and feel. Comfortable king-sized bed, couch with coffee table, and desk to work at. Plenty of outlets, wifi worked perfectly, nice clean bathroom with big tub. Also a clean fitness center with free weights, and a nice-looking pool. Highly recommend. read more

I expected better for a Hampton inn, especially for the price paid. Daily service of the room was terrible. Bed wasn't made properly, the comforter and sheets were just placed back on bed. Sheets weren't even tucked in, pillows were left on the floor. The tile in front of the door was disgusting, I mean toenails were in the corner. Elevator was slower than a turtle crossing the road, it was quicker to take the stairs. Free breakfast was stone cold, and could use more options. Was compensated 50% for one night due to the daily service and cleanliness issues. I don't think I would stay here again. read more

Very convenient location just off 89 in Winooski, with all the usual Hampton amenities. The breakfast area is quite spacious and has two coffee stations, which is a nice touch. The staff at our recent visit were pleasant and attentive - the front desk called our room after check-in to make sure we were comfortable. Something I particularly liked was that the stairwell was wide, well-lit, and carpeted! It makes taking the stairs for health pleasant rather than a penance. read more

Check in was fine, no issues and they acknowledged my gold status. Room was odd shaped with a king bed and sofa. The kids were fine with us spreading out and using the couch. I laid on the bed for a while and kept smelling something. I could not identify it and thought maybe it was me. Gave it a while came back and agreed it smelled like beer. I checked the comforter and sheets to see beer stains. Obviously fresh from the last guest that were never changed. Worst yet is the sticker on the bed stating "the bed linens and sheets were changed fresh today". Gross. One thing to have bad sheets it is another to falsely advertise it. I went to the front desk to complain and the gentleman apologized several times and decided to comp my room. I didn't think he needed to go that far but then we returned from dinner to find the new sheets just dumped on the ottoman, I felt it was a fair trade. Why did they not replace the entire bed set-up? They didn't feel they owed me the courtesy of replacing all the sheets, they left them for me to make my own bed. So now I am fine with the comp'd room. Breakfast was packed, again I was there on a holiday weekend, but they were working hard to keep food out for the masses. Food was fine, just what we expected. What was interesting is that they had to call in someone from another service team (not sure if he was maintenance or front office) to help with the trash. He came with attitude, slamming bags into the trash hauler and making some comments about the fact he should not have to handle their trash. While I can understand the frustrations of a young man asked to do something outside of his comfort zone, don't make a scene in front of customers. Don't show your angst and attitude. I know this issue was relayed to management by one of the breakfast folks. So all in all I picked a bad service weekend. The only key to giving them a 2 is the fact they comp'd my room. Average hotel, okay for the price. Not great looking and accommodations aren't too great either. We got the top floor & the ceilings are just weird, they don't really offer anything of use. Not very comfortable bed or pillows. TV doesn't offer any kind of movie rentals, no DVD player. Wifi works alright. Front desk service was only OK, room service ladies were much nicer. Bathroom has sliding door that offers no privacy. Shampoos/soaps aren't good. Overall an old looking hotel & room with some minor updates, probably wouldn't stay again. read more

Stephanie at the front desk was very nice and helpful. She was very accommodating when we asked if we could switch rooms as it smelled moldy. Not sure if it was because of the handicapped accessible shower so tried a room w a regular tub. Oops, not the cause, still moldy smelling. With limited options, stayed w the room w a shower. Ack. Horrible beds. Felt like we were sleeping in lumpy soup. Up at 6 as we couldn't sleep. Maybe other rooms have newer beds ... this was NOT a good pick for us. Can't wait for the kids to wake up so we can get out of here!!! read more

As the former executive director of a membership association, we held our spring conference at the Hampton Inn Burlington one year ago. I've never worked with such a competent and caring staff who took care of every last detail which gave me the time to focus on the content for the day. Staff members were right there if I needed them and made the event fun for all. The food is of high caliber. Our conference attendees specifically mentioned that in the comments of our conference survey. I would recommend the Hampton Inn Burlington to anyone in-state or out-of-state. The hotel is also conveniently located off Interstate 89, is very clean and the service is high quality. They exemplify "service with a smile." read more

The bed is way too soft and uncomfortable, you literally sink in the bed. We were gone from 7am-4pm and our room still wasn't cleaned. We had to drive around the parking lot to find a spot because right next door is a popular restaurant and their customers take the hotel parking spots. The rooms overall were clean, but pretty small. They didn't have a door on the bathroom, just a sliding door that didn't shut all the way. There is a National Guard base nearby as well, so hearing fighter jets overhead wasn't the most pleasant experience either. I wasn't overly thrilled with the hotel and probably won't stay there again next time when we come to Burlington. read more

We've stayed at Hampton Inns in several states for years, and while our stay was marginally OK, the Hampton Burlington-Winooski was easily the worst Hampton we've ever stayed in. It's an older Hampton and it shows. The front desk people were OK though we were never offered complimentary bottled water (Silver members) and we never saw the customary fresh cookies in three days. The ice bucket in our room was never emptied, but otherwise the dated room was clean and serviced. The breakfast service was the most disappointing aspect of our experience - unlike any other Hampton we've ever stayed at. The selection was poor, eggs with no meat, yogurt vanilla only, no English muffins, empty dark roast coffee, no half-n-half and three empty "fresh pressed juice" jugs. The chair backs are badly stained and the worn table surfaces were always dirty, we cleaned off spots for ourselves as did other customers. Even late in the afternoon long after breakfast the table surfaces were grimy. One of the two waffle irons was out of service, and there were a dozen used batter cups all around the waffle station. The four dispenser juice machine had one water, one apple and two orange juice. I tried one OJ and got water (no concentrate), but the other dispensed OJ. The two breakfast attendants were standing right next to the juice machine when I was there so I pointed to the empty one and told the attendant. She said "just use the other one..." I told her I had and was simply letting her know one was empty as a courtesy to which she said "oh." We'll remain Hampton Inn customers, but not the Burlington location - a poor, uncharacteristic example of a Hampton Inn. read more

Decent place to stay if you need to be around the Burlington area, especially if you have a pet with you! The staff are nice and hotel is clean, but the property as a whole just looks tired. We always try to stay at Hampton Inn's and this one is consistent with the rest in terms of price / quality, breakfast options and cleanliness. read more

Stayed for two nights over Veterans Day weekend what a bad choice. Could not find a parking spot in their parking lot and had to drive around for 10 minutes until someone left. Popular restaurant right next door and the customers for that restaurant use the hotels parking lot. The room was ok but the bed and pillows sucked. The bed is WAAAAYYYYYY too soft. I woke up with my back so sore I walked around like the Hunchback of Notre Dame all morning. The pillows are so soft, flat and uncomfortable that your head sinks into them, they offer no neck support. They never cleaned our room or gave us new towels. I had to go to the front desk to get towels. They were friendly at the front desk, however I would never stay there again. read more

We were a bit nervous to stay at this location with it being right off the freeway. We ended up having a great, quiet night's sleep. The staff were quick and efficient at check-in and out. The complimentary breakfast was plenty to get us going for the day. read more

Let's make sure we are talking about the right Hampton Inn, the address is 42 Lower Mountain View Road in Colchester not Burlington. This last visit we had a broken bed in a room with a very loud air conditioning unit. We asked before 8am if they could do something about this problem They offered to "get us a very nice room," for our second planned night. Returning at 6pm they did not even know of the problem never mind having a "very nice room" waiting for us. They said they were booked out and that nothing had been done about the broken bed. After a good long wait close to a half hour , they managed to find us a room in their "booked" hotel. We got a lot of sweet talk from the man who finally booked our room The woman that originally was taking care of us, handed us over to the man. Another couple had had their reservation totally canceled on them and they of course could not find any space for them. The public relations here is bad if anything is wrong. They can't or won't deal with it effectively. A Hilton Honors members bites the dust. read more

This hotel advertises itself a lot better than it really is. The rooms are NOT roomy. In fact, they are actually pretty small. The hotel itself, isn't kept well. Everything is old and not maintained well. We had to change our initial room because the front door was covered with wet paint and the room smelled awful. Also, when we tried to upgrade to a bigger room, they had non available but their website showed otherwise. read more

Hampton Inns are always a good night sleep. This Hampton was very unique too! I usually request a top floor room in lower rated hotels so I don't have to worry about loud foot steps on upper floors waking me up. I'm so glad I received a top floor with the wonderful dormered ceilings. Not a cookie cutter hotel! Even the hallways have character. I love this charming hotel. The restaurant right next door was perfect for an after dinner drink after the long drive up from Cape Cod. Room is very clean, bed is comfortable and the bathroom was huge with a great long shelf to spread out all my toiletries. Breakfast was good with many choices, even oatmeal which is on my diet for breakfast. The front desk had a small wall of medicine for me to buy some cold medicine for my son who woke up feeling unwell and had a tour of UVM that morning. All in all, I will be continuing to stay at this Hampton Inn IF my son is accepted and decides to go to UVM read more

We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and also pet friendly. The breakfast was decent. I would use this hotel again.

LOUD. Clanging in the pipes behind my bathoom wall or heater every 15 mins or so. Manager said he'd "make a note" and that others had made same complaint but did nothing to fix it. The manager also, when told that the people in the room above me were playing a full fledged game of hockey in the tiny room, with pucks flying off every wall and lots of screaming, said "well they've got a lot of energy." When was frank about not wanting to stay in hotel where hockey, football, or basketball were okay activities inside the rooms, he did go up and stop the game, but called me back to warn that he wouldn't "be able to to that all night." Also loud loud dog barking in the hallway repeatedly while playing with kids, not far from reception so staff/manager can't possibly have missed it.. Clean room and nice shuttle driver but I'd never stay there again because their noise policies are so outrageous. read more

Run of thre mill Hampton Inn. Nothing special, but nothing to make for a bad rating either. Right off interstate, easy to find. Good restaurangt at other end of parking lot. Typical Hampton breakfast. Froint desk folks very helpful and nice. Got the expected Hampton experience. Seems pricey for the area. read more

Conveniently located right off of the highway. Onsite restaurant (haven't tried yet). Gas station, grocery store and CVS are walking distance. Short drive to downtown and easy, free parking. Rooms are consistent with the rooms you will find at most Hampton's, however the rooms I've stayed in on the 4th floor seem to be smaller than the rest of the floors. The breakfast area is spacious and clean. I've never had an issue finding a seat on busy weekday mornings, which is always an issue at other hotels. The staff receives 5 stars! They are always friendly and helpful. Bring your family here! read more

I've stayed at this Hampton before and it's normally a great experience. This time- not so much. The Hampton has recently been redone, but not for the better. The bathroom has a sliding door that cannot be locked. This was very embarrassing when my brother opened the door on me. It's also very strange to have the bathroom door open a crack, and the door to the hallway is also open, and random strangers can see into your bathroom, which is what happened. The counter in the bathroom has also been redone so you can't fit a lot on it. The sink is also extremely small, so the counter ends up with a lot of water on it. This makes all your stuff wet. To top things off, we came during a heat wave during Memorial Day weekend. We came out to the lobby for breakfast and the lobby was extremely hot! Unbearably hot! I wondered if it was because there was a lot of people or because the oven was on to cook breakfast. After breakfast, nothing changed. We came back a couple times during the day and the lobby remained ridiculously hot. My brother went to bed early, so I sat outside in the lobby for over an hour and I finally went around and changed the thermostats. You could feel the air conditioning turn on, but not enough to make much of a difference. It was just a miserable time. read more

Room was clean, breakfast was ok. The women working the breakfast need help !! One day I went and there was only one person working there since someone called in. They do a good job though. My only complaint is that we were two adults in the room and every day we only got two big towels, two hand towels, two face clothes. There should be 4 big towels. Most women put their hair in a towel when they get out of the shower. I had to go to the desk 2 days in a row for extra towels and the last day I forgot. read more

As a frequent guest of Hilton/Hampton, this property is a pretty good property within the Hilton family. Standard breakfast plus milk and cookies every night at 8:30pm. Great location right by the main highway I-89 for visiting the Burlington area or for a quick trip into Canada. As a HHonors member, there was a nice snack/bottled water awaiting me in the room. read more

We stayed in this hotel for one night while visiting my brother at Norwich university. For 300 dollars not worth it! And let me say this hotel was good when we first walked in, it was clean, modern and the lady at the desk was very nice. But 2 days in advanced we requested a rollaway for another unexpected guest. (My brothers friend on campus had no one to stay with during family weekend so we took her in.) we asked the lady at the desk if they had put the rollaway in our room, she said that she had no idea that we requested one, but then about 1 hour later a woman brought one up to us. We had also gone out to dinner before we checked in and had some leftovers, my brother went to go put them in the fridge and there was a nasty pizza box left in the fridge and a leftover Snapple from the last guests. Lastly the toilet didn't even work well we tried flushing it and it wouldn't go down. So if you want somewhere to stay in Burlington don't choose this hotel! read more

this was a terrible stay. it was not advertised that a party would be happening on the floor directly below our room until the day of until 11pm. seeing as we had a 5:15am wake up call a large amount of people complained. the only solution was a "sorry we can move your room if you want" the day previously we were moved from a room because the door broke. there was no master key to let us into our room and no maintenance team in the hotel so we waited an extra 40 min to be let back into the room. the person sent to fix the door did not ask to enter the room and continued to open and close the door trying to get it to work. we then had to leave the room. just an overall awful stay, plus the eggs are too salty. read more
