A mini fridge and microwave. A good size flat screen tv. The room was very clean. My only complaints are minor. The shower head is lower than I wish it was. The other is while walls between rooms are sound proofed well, the wall to hotel hallway isn't. You can hear everyone opening and closing their doors and hear everything else. Overall a solid 4 stars. Would I return? Yes I would. I like the set up and the price was very fair! Revision: Ok the earlier was written before sleeping. After, I have 2 issues. Turns out for my taste the bed is too stiff. If you like a harder bed, this may be for you. The other thing is the blackout curtains suck. Even closed they let in a lot of light. Lastly while I'm not including it in rating the complimentary breakfast is very plain Jane. Cereal, waffles, toast, mass produced tiny muffins and things. Overall I'm dropping the rating to a 3 star review. Would I return? Ehh maybe? It's still a good deal and very clean!

We called and fortunately for us they were available and took us in within minutes of calling! Now I do not hunt so I used this place more as a bed and breakfast rather than for the hunting aspect. Upon driving up to the ranch, we were greeted with nothing but the utmost respect. All of the ranch hands and staff are truly kind gentlemen and welcomed us with hospitality. We went on a day where it had snowed something terrible the day before and our car could not make it up the driveway. They gave us a ride in one of their pickup trucks up to the lodge and while we settled in, they plowed for us and even drove our car up for us so we didn't have to go back in the cold! They let us have our pick of the rooms available and even carried all of our luggage to it! Breakfast was served the next morning at our desired time and the cook was very sweet and catered to everybody's individual preferences with professionalism. The lodge itself is absolutely stunning and very clean and also quite large! It had a grand living room, a bar room complete with fireplace and stocked wood, a sauna, a massage room, and an open kitchen with an extra large dining area that opened up to the back porch that had the most beautiful view of the land below! We had the whole place to ourselves. It was literally like having our own extra large "cabin in the woods" to ourselves the entire night! The lodge was extremely clean and decorated tastefully. I'm not at all into hunting or taxidermy but could still appreciate how beautiful the lodge was decorated and built otherwise. Modern with a cozy feel! Would definitely be back. Would make for one awesome getaway with a group of family or friends! A++ and definitely worth checking out if you love that feeling of being lost in nature. :) calm and beautiful. Thank you for the awesome stay, gentlemen!

This place, if you choose to hunt here, will teach you how to clean, dress, and cook your venison! Even those who don't hunt will find a great place in the off season to hike the trails. The meals were delicious, every one of them! The room was comfortable and spacious, and there are only 6 of them, so you will never feel crowded with too many guests. 24 hour access to ice, fridge, and soft drinks is a nice touch! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come again.

The check in person took pity on us and told us to give him an hour and he would have two rooms for us. He worked his magic and was able to get us close to each other and we were able to get some sleep almost two hours early. The breakfast was decent (scrambled eggs, home fries, and sausage links on the hot bar. Also had make your own pancakes, bagels, cereal, bagels, pastries, yogurt, oatmeal) All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The rooms look updated and were clean. The mini fridge was bigger than other places and actually had a separate freezer part which was nice. The beds were comfy. The pool looked clean. We didn't brave it because it was cool outside but saw several people did. One unique thing about this hotel is at night different groups of people were setting off fireworks at night. It seemed to be maybe out of town workers. The fireworks never bothered us and we never heard them from our room. Just wanted to mention in case someone might stay here that had ptsd. There are two nice areas on the side of the hotel with covering over the patios and patio furniture. We played cards with our family while we watched the fireworks show. They also have a swing set. We felt safe and comfortable here. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

My room was extremely cold and I could find no thermostat to kick on the heat. All the floor units were broken but I discovered the heat/air unit back in the bathroom area. I cranked it up to 80 degrees which by evening warmed the main room. There was a large gap under the door letting in the cold so I stuffed a bathroom towel to stop the draft. There was a newer shower unit but it wasn't finished and the faucet was caulked but came loose so to get the water flowing you had to manually move it to position. The hair dryer would not stay on unless you held the On button down with one hand while drying your hair. The desk chair was broken in half so thankfully I discovered it before sitting. Most everything wrong can be fixed easily as Ferris has a great construction program so I would advise HIRE THEM!

Pros- there was plenty of space for our group of 20+ people to spread out on the property.  We had plenty of room for parking and were only a mile from a grocery store when we needed supplies. There were plenty of bath towels for our use and the AC on the second floor worked well.  There were board games, books and yard games for our group to use. Cons- the property felt rundown and neglected.  The lawn was too high when we arrived and was never mowed during the week we were there. Since we planned to spend a lot of time outside this was disappointing.  The deck on the Lake House is in need of serious repair.  There were pots full of dirt and weeds scattered around and the landscaping was so overgrown we could barely see the lake when sitting on the furniture.  There are some very soft spots in the decking that I was worried someone might actually go through.  The kitchen has an apartment size stove/oven which we were not expecting. The oven wouldn't even fit a standard baking sheet. Our kitchen seemed to be missing a lot of items: can opener, spatulas, a large bowl for mixing, sauce pans, etc.  We also didn't have a single clothes hanger in any of our closets or any floor fans, even though we were told there was at least one for us to use. We were told things get moved around from house to house when groups stay there, which is understandable. I think they need a list of basic items that should be in the house when the cleaning is done so it's ready for the next guests though. Luckily we knew the people in the other rentals and could borrow things from them. The AC on the main floor did not work well. The showers/bathtubs need to be updated.  The grout was stained/dirty and the shower head on the main floor bath was the smallest one I've ever seen.  The living room was a good size but so full of furniture it was hard to move around.  There are also electrical cords running along the walls on both sides of the TV.  You can tell they had to run those for the TV hook ups which is fine, but could be a problem if you have little kids in your group.  None of the outdoor spaces on the property were very well kept up or inviting places to hang out. Overall I feel like it was a good home base if you are going to spend the majority of your time offsite. This property has tremendous potential and would make an awesome small event venue if repairs were made and the grounds were properly cared for. If I was looking for a property for a group of 20-25 people I would stay here again because it is hard to find a place to accommodate that many people. But if I were looking for a place for just my family I would stay elsewhere.

For starters Ernie and Vivian were incredible host, honestly made us feel right at home the second we walked in. The Inn itself, is the perfect combination of old and new, well preserved antiques with modern amenities. We stayed in the spinning wheel room and it was very nice. Of course seeing threw the tub, into the bathroom, from the bedroom, wasn't a typical accommodation we understood that it was a temporary fix. They are planning on remolding the bathroom throughout the house soon. On the other hand, the bed was pretty rough. I hate to mention anything negative about this place but I had to at least prepare you for your sleep. Saying it's hard, would be an understatement. If they were to update the mattresses around the time they are planning on the bathrooms this would be in my top 3 B&B's we have stayed at. It's still in my top 5, but the bed is holding it back. However once you wake up crack your back and stretch out a bit you quickly forget there could've been anything wrong. The breakfast was a decadent feast with homemade jam, whipped cream, and even maple syrup. Then to burn it all off, there beautiful home is located on 127 acres of even more beautiful woods equipped with trails for easier walking. We will definitely be staying here again if we are even remotely close to this area again. Thank you Ernie and Vivian!

We stayed here for two nights, and had a fantastic time!…read more We arrived on Friday for our 11am tee time on The Retreat, and it was downpouring. We were concerned our golf weekend was going to be ruined, but we were informed that the course staff was working on cleaning up the course, and we should be able to tee off at 12:30! Perfect! We were hoping to be able to check-in to our room ahead of time, but the resort was full the night prior, so instead, we had lunch and a drink at the Grille. I ordered the BBQ Brisket Tacos, which were delicious! It came with three tacos and a side of chips. My boyfriend ordered the Whitefish Quesadillas, which don't sound very appetizing, but he likes quesadillas. We would not recommend them. They were so bland. We felt like we were eating Cream of Mushroom soup quesadillas. When we got to the tee box at 12:30pm, we were told that the other 18-hole course, The Revenge, was closed due to the heavy rain, so anyone golfing that course is now going to be fit onto The Retreat, which meant we would be paired with another twosome. I wasn't thrilled because it was supposed to be a couples getaway for us, and I also get very nervous playing with people I don't know. However, we got very lucky and were paired with a really fun couple! So, this ended up being a great experience, but be aware that if you are a twosome, you may get paired with another twosome. We finished our round only a few balls shorter than when we started (haha), and had dinner at the Grille. We both ordered burgers with fries (not pictured), and they were delicious! We sat outside on the back deck, which was nice, and our waitress, Gayle, was very friendly and attentive. We walked back to the resort, and had big plans to enjoy the pool or firepit, but instead crashed early from a long day on the course. Saturday morning we were looking for the "hot breakfast". I DO NOT RECOMMEND this breakfast. It's located at the Grille, and is $15/person for ham, sausage links, potatoes, and eggs - all of which were cold. It was gross. It was included in our package, but otherwise is $15/person, which is absurd. The hotel has an included breakfast with bagels, cereal, oats, and yogurt, which will suffice. Otherwise, there's Cafe 106 right downtown Manistee that has DELICIOUS BREAKFAST at reasonable prices. Since it poured again Friday night, we were worried we wouldn't be able to play The Revenge at 11am due it being under water. However, we were told we could play, but that it would be wet. Not a big deal. This course, like The Retreat, is absolutely beautiful! We warmed up at the driving range (right near The Revenge course) where I seemingly used all of my decent shots (haha!). We ended up venturing downtown Manistee for dinner and drinks to wrap up our stay here. The room is nothing fancy, but is nice, and I like that the resort has a fitness facility. Overall, our stay here was really great, and we would definitely visit again!
