Very dated, older facility. Can't fix old, I get that. But door on Burger King side has a broken card reader. Note on the outside of reader says it does not work. Would have been nice going out the door to know you can't get back in. No worry, just go to the rear door by pool. Reader works but is not needed as the door does not lock. Awesome. My room door does not close/latch automatically so you have to be sure to push it hard to get it locked. Stuff is just old and worn. TVs are very old. Bathroom vent fan was top notch. So it wasn't all bad. Price was cheap. Get what you pay for I guess. read more

This hotel in Batesville was the absolute worst place we have ever stayed in. It was dirty, oh so gross, smelled moldy and the staff was just as bad. We had to ask for clean towels throughout our weekend stay, our room was never tended to after asked for the front desk twice. Air vents/ vents a/c had dust and crud caked on. So yes, we had to breathe that in! It doesn't deserve one star. DO NOT stay here! read more

I see a lot of the one star reviews are a little Older so maybe they have fixed some things because it was a nice stay. Location is convenient and near some restaurants/retail Lady that checked us in was very nice and was able to get our room early. Seemed clean and well stocked. Ceiling could have used some maintenance and paint but other than that the room was fine. Breakfast was decent and the lady keeping it stocked and clean was very nice. They had: toast/bagels/muffins/ gravy/sausage/eggs/biscuits/coffee and waffles The only issue we had was some check in issues later in the week with a family member. The lady that called us to fix the issue( not the woman who checked us in) was quite rude and not very understanding to the situation at hand. This was my first time to stay here for a recent 2 night visit. Location is less than 1/2 from I-55. Check in was easy and friendly with warm cookies offered. My room was nice and up to typical Hampton standards. This property rooms interior are slightly more spartan than normal without a recliner for a chair with the only one being at the desk. Also, I wish the bathroom was a little bigger but it was acceptable. Finally the room door needed more noise insulation as hall noise can filter through. Breakfast was very good with hot eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, cereals and drinks. Everything you would want. Parking spaces were adequate. They don't have complimentary USA Today newspapers here. This is a good budget option to stay when visiting Ole Miss which is only a 20 minute drive away where properties are usually more expensive. I would happily return. read more

one of the worst places we have ever stayed.the front desk over charged us based upon rates advertises. the rugs in the room smelled .the lobby had luggage carts of trash. you had people loitering outside asking for money and you could just get high from the smell of weed being smoked. One night stay here on our way down to Gulfport. It was decent. Rooms could probably use some deep cleaning on the carpets and chairs. Pool was closed, so that was disappointing as the kids were hoping to hit the pool after our long 9 hour drive. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. It has dirt everywhere from the elevator to the ICE MACHINES! There is only one washer and dryer. The rooms are not very roomy. So if your there for a quick stay with just yourself okay. Have a family or tournament you won't want to stay here. The only good thing is the front desk lady at night was very nice. read more

After five phone calls, being given the incorrect information and being hung up on for zero reason three times, I still don't have the folio for my stay. Maybe cause we slept in a bad Four pts in Memphis last night, but this hotel gets 4 stars from me. Cause the room is nicely furnished, ck in a breeze, made last minute reservation via iphone, bathroom w granite tops so much more spacious, free bkfast. The only two quirky things are the size of the pillows (see pic) and the post it's on the headboards saying that the comforters and sheets are clean. Lol. read more

Hubby and I, along with dozens of other guests at this hotel, were exposed to E. coli and coliform bacteria in the water supply, thanks to the inept desk clerk. When we checked in at 5:30 p.m. on April 5th, she did not tell us about the alert that had been issued three hours earlier by the Mississippi Department of Health for the City of Batesville and County of Panola. In our room, we both brushed our teeth and drank water from the tap. It wasn't until 7:30 that we learned of the health department's alert--only because we had walked over to Cracker Barrel for dinner. There, the staff was completely upfront about the alert, which our fabulous waitress, Azharia, showed us on her phone. Returning to the hotel about 9 p.m., we asked the desk clerk why she hadn't warned us about the water. She claimed she hadn't known, that this was the first she was hearing about it! However, a woman who was visiting with her (whom we later learned is the person who prepares the hotel's breakfasts) said that she had known for several hours, because her mother had called to tell her and because the restaurant where she'd gone for lunch had closed after the alert went out. We asked the desk clerk if she realized how serious this threat was and what she was doing to warn hotel guests. Having no good answers, she seemed oblivious to the severity of E. coli and coliform bacteria and not at all concerned about the risks to hotel guests. The next morning, we were horrified to see the number of people drinking the hotel coffee and eating the hotel breakfast. We saw no signs posted, no indications that guests had been warned about the water. We cancelled our reservation at this hotel for the following weekend. Then, we got out of there as fast as we could and will never, ever return. read more

I booked here as a stopover on my way to Little Rock on the past Monday night this February 2017. I used the Hilton Hhonors app and booked the room using points. Took about a minute to find and book. I was offered early check-in through the app along with digital key, both of which I used. The digital key thing is pretty cool. Since I had my room number, I just went to my room, opened the app and pressed the big button to open my door. Sweet. First things first. The toilet paper is the usual cheap crap that even the best hotels use these days. Pardon the pun. So back to the room: it was a single King and it was a good size with plenty of room to spread out, a nice club chair, a good sized TV and so on. It seemed clean to me. It isn't the most plush of hotels but certainly was fine and there was not a thing wrong with it. It's a bit long in the tooth but it's also maintained and all of the amenities worked. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were not bad. Also, there is a docking station on the night stand with extra plugs and 2 USB ports built in, which is a nice extra that you don't see in even higher-end hotels. For example, I recently stayed at the Roosevelt in New Orleans and had to use the power strip that I bring on trips. Likewise the Westin in Pittsburgh. There, i actually had to ask for an extension cord and this was in a large suite! So kudos to Hampton. The bathroom was good size also, with a tub/shower, large vanity top for lots of stuff if you are one of those people who needs 80 things spread about. I'm not :-) Also, there is a functioning fan, that moves air. Lots of air. And it's noisy, which is okay by me. Breakfast was the usual fare which is always a good selection as far as I'm concerned: waffles, sausage, gravy, some sort of egg, breads and pastry; fruit, oatmeal and so on. I only interacted with staff on checkout and she was very nice. All in all, a good stay. I'll be staying there going forward when I travel from New Orleans to points north. read more

Take one out of the way place, add a lack of other worthwhile places near by and you get an average (compared to what it typically can/is) hotel that is much more expensive than it needs to be. Stopped here while traveling without a reservation. They offered an Evening Medley till 7:00 PM which consisted of meatball, nachos and other comfort foods. We got there at 6:30 and everything was gone. Not good. Breakfast was the same when it came to quantity. Usual hotel breakfast but couldn't keep up with the demand. Room was comfortable and clean which is why we always look for Hampton. Never had any major problems when it came to comfort. The beds are the best. Friendliness = 5 cleanliness factor = 2, room cleaning service is only available in the mornings, so if u miss it, u missed it! On top of that, when we did get room cleaning service, they fell on their promise of clean sheets, pillows and covers everyday. We had to ask for clean sheets at night when we returned, in which they brought us new sheets (one set stained) and we had to change the sheets ourselves.... Next day, it was addressed with the manager, Jessica, who dealt with the problem by giving us a comp day, but addressed problem in a condescending manner. Food= 3. Food gets points for being included for free (this wasn't expected). It's ok quality. You can make your own waffles but they tasted low quality, same goes for the biscuits, very low quality and bad taste vs. the expectations (we WERE in the South!). I stay at this facility for a couple of days. I truly love the renovated room and it was a great stay. They are continuing to make improvements at this property as I truly enjoyed the warm welcome from the staff. Very friendly and welcoming. Decent location off Hwy 6 and I-65. Strengths: Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Suitable workout room. Opportunities: No store unlike most locations. Food leaves a little to be desired. Summary: If you travel across the country and stay Hampton hands like I do, you will be disappointed but at least you get points for staying there. Been staying here biannually for about 10 years. Hampton Inns have been my favorite for about that many years. The fresh duvet covers are what won me over. I don't want to ever sleep under a previously used bedspread if I can help it. They have just given this location a facelift. Gone are the dark wood and dark painted walls. It's all about light and simplicity. Think IKEA. Very happy feeling place. The complimentary breakfast is very complete. Eggs, sausage and biscuits for my husband and Greek yogurt and fruit for me. Coffee and tea are available 24/7. I recommend it and I only gave it 4 stars because I save 5 for more luxurious hotels. read more

As I write this review from the cleanest, fluffiest pile of linens with a belly full of warm chocolate chip cookies, I am reminded of why I almost always choose Hampton Inn as a first choice when the need for a hotel room arises. I am currently living on the road, traveling the states in a vintage RV, and as with any ancient vehicle problems are sure to arise at one point or another. Six days ago my engine practically exploded, leaving me stranded in a truck salvage yard/mechanic shop which practically transformed into the county bar around 6:00. Needless to say, while such a lively group of diesel mechanics can excite just about any evening, I contacted the Hampton Inn where I was quickly given a great rate that allowed me to feel a bit reassured about the gamble of spending a little extra for a safe place to stay. The staff was overly supportive in each and every way they possibly could be given my chaotic situation. Being in a strange town with no vehicle, the kind gentleman at the front desk named John graciously offered a ride to the mechanics and back. Breakfast was served hot and ready every single morning, and I was continuously asked by almost all of the cleaning staff if there was anything at all that I needed, and again offered ample advice and rides if need be. In the evening there is a "reception" in the lobby area from 5-7 where they serve a variety of snacks and little bites - this was practically a lifesaver for me being without transportation, and the food was actually pretty good. Overall this hotel was VERY CLEAN, updated and super comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and I felt as though my money was very well spent between the room, breakfast, and "reception". I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the Batesville, MS area and am once again extremely pleased with my stay at Hampton Inn. Oh, and maybe I'm a sucker for small gimmicks ... but the warm cookies in the evening sure do make the stresses of a day just a little bit better! read more

Rooms are older and need repair/renovation. There is a visible hole in the underside of the roof above the check in parking overhang. We called down to the front desk for sheet and pillow for sofa bed and were met with "can you come down and get it, I'm checking in guests right now". Not great customer service.
