Nice entry (coffee in lobby) with cookies and cream on the scene. The room neat and tidy. Patrons are noisy with kids running up and down the hall screaming into the night. What a fright! The little girl peeing in the pool kept us from swimming like a fool! Breakfast was great but make no mistake: get there early before some little birdie drops a big turdie in the terrain. Such a pain!

The night we stayed all cars in the entire parking lot are in this picture.

Not bad for a hotel located in the middle of nowhere. The big positive to this Hampton location is it's proximity to I-80 which can't be beat. But past that this place must be a ghost town overall. There's nothing in the area except three or four gas station/truck stops, a McD's, a diner, a dive bar attached to a scary looking motel, a Comfort Inn which looks like something out of the Walking Dead and this place. That's it. Aside of that you've got ten miles into the metropolis of Lock Haven or thirty miles to State College. Check in was a breeze as the place as I mentioned prior was a ghost town. The girl at the FD told me that they only had twenty two (out of seventy-five) occupied rooms that night. The one picture I uploaded shows all of the cars in the parking lot including any staff. Trust me, I walked around the entire building before taking the picture. The room itself was perfectly fine as everything was in working order and it's always nice when you get one of the newer Hampton locations with the fridge in the room as well. The pool was small as expected but was well stocked with a lot of towels and my guess was that we were the first people who had used it certainly that night if not in a while. The breakfast was your standard Hampton offering with oatmeal, eggs, sausage, yogurt, juice, pastries, english muffins, bagels, cereal, MYO waffles plus a few other things that I'm forgetting all served daily from 6am-10am. The one comment that is mentioned in another review regarding the beds being on the soft side I agree with as both of the queens in our room fit that description. Personally I'm down on that but I know not everyone is so caveat emptor. All things considered especially with where you're at in PA you could do a lot worse than staying at this Hampton as overall they do offer a good value for the money and a nice quiet nights rest.

    1. Upon walk-in, the desk clerk asked me for proof that my service dog is "certified." This is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as well as human/civil rights laws in Pennsylvania. 2. After ordering Chinese food, the desk called informing me that the delivery person wasn't allowed to deliver to my room for "safety reasons." This despite the fact that I was staying on the first floor down the hallway from the front desk within their view. 3. While taking a nap, the hotel fire alarm goes off (waking me and my service dog) and intermittently went off for the next couple of hours. 4. Prior to departure, looked forward to a warm shower on a frigid day only to not have any hot water and water pressure that was below average. Perhaps, this is due to the pipe that broke causing the fire alarm issue earlier. ***The rooms are comfortable and modern. Really. But, the customer service leaves much to be desired. Hopefully, they will better train their staff, as General Manager Raj Dave, assured me.

Traveling on Rt.80 we were delayed by construction traffic and it was getting late. Based on the only other review I was a little worried. Come to find out we stayed here once before. Gene at the front desk was cheeeful and helpful. The hotel has been remodeled and our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast included scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, bacon, waffles, cereals, hard boiled eggs, bagels , fruit, etc.,etc. I really love the tub. A big soaker tub with an inclined back. We didn't try out the pool- forgot our suits.

So when a family member approached me and asked me if I wanted to stay at this inn, I was surprised; but, after learning more, I excitedly said yes. This was the right decision and led to a fantastic and relaxing weekend away from the city. This nature inn sits in Bald Eagle State Park and has 16 guest rooms, a handful of meeting room/library spaces, and is absolutely beautiful. The rooms on one side of the inn overlook a lake, with the other side facing a cluster of trees. My relative and I ended up facing the trees, but we were totally fine with that - especially since the fall foliage was starting to set in. We were on the 2nd floor, so we were able to enjoy the view from a private balcony throughout the weekend; it looked like the 1st floor rooms had little patios instead, so no matter what, guest rooms have some sort of outdoor seating. Normally, guests would all be able to enjoy a communal patio and fire pit here. Granted, some other guests (as it appeared that a large group came here together) did go ahead and enjoy this space. My relative and I did not because avoiding people is a must these days, but still, what we saw of these spaces looked great. Definitely something to remember for the future. Speaking of avoiding people - it's 2020, so naturally, my relative and I were focused on what the inn is doing to protect guests. The answer is, plenty! Cleaning and sanitizing the inn is a big thing, naturally. The small size of the inn definitely helps, as it's not particularly big and doesn't lend itself to the gathering of huge crowds. Masks are a must and for the most part, this rule was adhered to; I passed by a couple of guests that I think just forgot theirs momentarily, but staff definitely took the rule seriously. Their dining room is currently closed - all meals are prepped and offered as take-out or delivery. Fortunately, the rooms include a fridge, so it was super easy for my relative and me to bring snacks and store our leftovers so that we were stocked and well-fed all weekend. Also, while you can request items that you need for your room, daily turn-down service is not happening right now - that way, only guests are in their rooms during their stay. The result was that I felt extremely relaxed while I was in the inn, knowing that my space and health was being respected and taken seriously. A couple of notes - the mattresses here were admittedly very hard and uncomfortable, and while they didn't ruin our stay, it's still nice to have my comfy soft bed back. I don't really hold this against the inn though since, frankly, I think all hotel beds are uncomfortable by default. Speaking of things I don't hold against them - this is a nature inn, so you better expect some of the local wildlife to try to get into your room. When I first opened my balcony door some stinkbugs fell onto me because they had gathered around the door frame - whoops! The good news is that the door itself was very well sealed, so the little jerks couldn't get in when the door was closed. Again, I don't hold that against the inn at all, seeing as it's set right in a state park. Still, I think it's fair to remind other guests and readers that when you visit a nature park, you better be ready to experience everything nature throws at you. If any of this sounded like something you would enjoy, I encourage you to visit the inn's website to learn more about staying here; there is a lot of information there about a range of other topics, such as how the entire facility is designed to be ecologically sound, what to expect when you visit during different seasons, and what sorts of outdoor fun awaits you in the surrounding nature park. I definitely recommend this beautiful inn as a getaway option - now and in the future; and I hope to be back one day to enjoy more of the surrounding area!

The beds are comfortable and there is an individual HVAC unit for the room with a thermostat. The modern, remote check in process was great and dealing with Lisa for booking and check in was great. Be sure to read the modern reviews and ignore the ones from years ago. The current management clearly put a lot of effort into modernizing. This is the nicest motel I've ever stayed in.

What a mess! Only the Lock Haven Grandview has been renovated. We stayed in the Williamsport Grandview in early June 2024. Both entrances to the hotel have been blocked by the highway department and the hotel appeared to be closed. I circled several times before discovering an unmarked entrance on a side street. Apparently there is an ongoing legal dispute over the entrance. The room was okay, clean with no smell typical of roadside motels, but the bedroom has no window and the check-in process was confusing. The on-site housekeeper was very helpful. The photos of the Williamsport Grandview rooms show a huge front window right near the beds but apparently this is for a single room, the second floor suite. Is misinformation the secret to business success?
