My wife and I stayed at this Hampton in for two nights while visiting in New Hampshire. Hotel is fairly centrally located and appears to be fairly new. It was in good repair and very clean! My wife and I stayed on the first floor next to the pool. There was a kids party, but they did quiet down at the hotel quiet hour of 9 PM. The room is spacious and well-kept. Our minimal interaction with staff was courteous. If you're looking for a place in Exeter, give them a try!

3/14/20 Came here due to work bringing me out this way. I've always loved staying at the Hamptons because of the way their hotels are run. From the front desk assistance to the clean room and beds. As well as all the various amenities the hotel has to offer. I got to enjoy the fitness area and got breakfast from the dinning area. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I would most definitely return here again in the future.

A pretty good Hampton inn... perfect for the business traveler. All the usual Hampton Inn stuff. Easy check in and out. They even offered us extra bottles of water on our way out. The room was decent size. The desk area divides the sofa area from the bed area. Small kitchenette with microwave is a bonus. Extra large screen TV. As usual breakfast is included. Only small negative thing is that the eggs, et al weren't hot enough, but the gal was nice enough to zap (microwave) them for me in the kitchen per my request. Overall, I'd still stay here again easily...

Poor. Digital key was sent but did not work when we got to the hotel. Phone in the room was broken. Wanted $25 to allow us to check out an hour later - something I've never heard of at any hotel ever. Thanks for nothing, Jeremy. Great window view though.

Nice clean hotel. Great location if you have to commute to Stratham. A couple of decent diners that are local.

Rooms are very clean. Way better than Marriott Fairfield Inn across the street. Also the meeting area by the lobby is very nice.

We stayed in the Abenaki room which is on the top floor and has gorgeous rustic decor and views of the town. Jaime's welcome made us feel instantly at home as he showed us around. Since we arrived later, we decided to eat in house, in the newly opened tapas style Ambrose restaurant. We sampled the Hummus, Tuna, Shrimp and Filet dishes, all of which were delicious. Chef Stanley's dishes were beautifully prepared and very flavorful. Sandra provided kind and friendly service. The inn has that special combination of warmth, charm, cleanliness, comfort and uniqueness that people hope for when looking for an inn. While we stumbled upon this inn by chance, we will certainly be by again! Exeter is a beautiful, historic town with eclectic stores and restaurants that we still need to explore. Well done! Thanks for a great stay and respite from the long drive we had!

There are places to walk to for coffee, snacks, and some shopping if you want to pop out. The inn also has a snack/bar area for coffee, teas, soda, etc that is always accessible. I love The Gilmore Girls and this inn makes me think that that's what the show's Dragonfly Inn was trying to capture- like the perfect New England B&B. Breakfast was delicious too and so welcomed after having to eat in airports for too long. The guys whipped up tasty treats for us and really made each night's stay feel magical.

We ate at their restaurant Epoch once during our stay. Would have like to have seen more options on the menu, but I did enjoy the burger. It was a bit too salty, but overall it was a delicious bite. They did have signing in the lobby, notifying guests they are going through renovations to upgrade the entire building. I did recognize some minor improvements needed with the room, and based on the signage and a welcome letter in our room, I provided my suggestions to the email they provided. I really appreciate that they are open to guest feedback. Classy move! It was truly a beautiful stay in a quaint New England town.

There's a bar/restaurant inside which is really convenient (we only had dessert and drinks so I can't speak to it so much) but it's definitely historic and old and that shows- weird random cutouts and crevices, older heating system etc. The bathroom is literally massive, and the beds comfortable. My gripe is that the shower is ridiculous. There's almost zero space to put personal items and it has what I call the "London shower" (sorry Londoners- trauma from the first time I saw one of these) where there's a weird half shower wall (no curtain or sliding door). I hate it a lot. Water gets everywhere and I don't really see why this was the choice? Overall, would stay again. Would love to see the renovations!

This Fairfield Inn was like others we have stayed in and nicely decorated. The staff was very welcoming. We were given a corner room on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and nicely appointed. We had a very comfortable, king size bed and a desk with good electrical outlets. There was a large TV, chest of drawers, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and a closet. The room was very quiet even though we were on the front of the building. What is always nice is that offer breakfast each morning. The offerings include coffee, tea, juices, milk, cereals, granola, waffles, cheese omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and a variety of breads, bagels, English muffins, etc. My husband enjoyed the scrambled eggs, bacon and English muffin. I had a fresh bagel with cream cheese. The coffee was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed our stay!

Absolutely Not Worth the Price! This hotel was one…read moredisappointment after another. For the price they charge, you would expect a clean, comfortable, well-maintained hotel. Instead, you get the vibes of a cheap roadside motel that desperately needs renovations and better management. Our stay started off poorly. Check-in is at 4:00 PM. We arrived around 6:00 PM and were told that one of our rooms still wasn't ready. We were also told we would have side-by-side rooms, but instead our rooms were across the hallway from each other. We were told both rooms would be exactly the same, yet they weren't. The rooms themselves were filthy and poorly maintained. The floors were not vacuumed, swept, or mopped. Apparently, their idea of cleaning is using a giant lint roller. One room had an unflushed toilet, and there were no tissues--just an empty tissue box. Rooms are also not serviced daily. The air conditioning stopped working, which made the already uncomfortable room even worse. The rooms are extremely dark, with basically one main light between the beds and a desk lamp. The pillows are thin and hard, and the beds are extremely hard as well. They advertise the beds as queens, but they felt more like full-size beds. There are also no ice buckets and no safes in the rooms. The elevator is another concern. It jumps while you're riding in it, and the inspection expiration date posted on it was already past due. That's not something I want to discover while staying in a hotel. The Wi-Fi is ridiculous. You have to create an account and join their system just to use it, and it only works inside your room. Once you're in the common areas, you essentially have no service and no Wi-Fi. Then there's the ridiculous key-card situation. On the day of checkout, they deactivate your room keys before checkout time. We went to breakfast at approximately 8:30 AM and returned to our rooms around 8:50 AM--with checkout not until noon--and BOTH rooms were already locked out. We had to go back to the front desk just to regain access to our rooms. The pool is laughable. It's basically the size of an extra-large hot tub, yet the online photos make the hotel and amenities look substantially better than what you actually get. In general, the photos online do not accurately represent the hotel in person. Breakfast was extremely limited, which isn't necessarily unexpected for a hotel, but the bigger problem was that nothing was kept stocked. Staff were sitting right in the dining area while guests were trying to get basic items. We verbally told a staff member that we were out of coffee and were completely ignored. Another guest eventually had to go up to her and tell her that coffee was needed. The entire experience was frustrating from beginning to end. When you're paying what this hotel charges, you expect something clean, comfortable, and properly maintained. Instead, you're paying premium prices for a very budget-level experience. The pictures make this place look far nicer than it actually is. Don't let them fool you. There are plenty of hotels where your money will be much better spent. I absolutely would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.

So I was pleasantly surprised by how awesome Around the Corner is. The proprietors, Rita and Peter, really make everyone feel at home. They introduce guests to each other and create an atmosphere where it's actually a pleasure to meet the other people staying there. I have dietary restrictions that Rita (the breakfast chef) was able to gracefully accommodate. The rooms are beautiful, with lots of detail, and plenty of books to borrow while you're there. Very peaceful and quiet at night. Each room has a window air conditioner/fan unit which helps keep the temp comfortable. I got to explore Exeter and the surrounding towns. Some highlights: the Fly By Cafe (downtown Exeter, has a UFO theme); Wallis Sands State Park, a peaceful beach; Folsom Tavern, where George Washington had a meal. I always felt comfortable asking for recommendations or sharing my thoughts on what I'd seen with the proprietors and other guests. Very un-snobby place. A couple quirks: The parking situation is pretty crowded and that can get stressful if the B&B is full. Also, be aware that some of the bathrooms are shared--be sure to check in advance if having your own bath is important to you. Overall, such a lovely and fun place to spend a few days!

We rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience was disappointing…read more Our room was 73 degrees overnight, and the air conditioning would not work. The thermostat asked for a PIN code, and nothing we tried worked. We contacted the innkeeper in the middle of the night and were told to turn the dial instead of touching the screen and to open the windows. We had already tried both. Around 4:30 a.m., she came to our room. Three of the four windows were stuck shut, and the only one she was able to open had no screen, making it unusable. Around 5:00 a.m., we were told someone had "turned the AC back on," and only then did the room begin cooling. What was most frustrating was the inconsistent explanation. We were initially told this had never happened before. Later we were told the heating system automatically switched because it was 58 degrees outside. If that's how the system works, the listing shouldn't advertise central air conditioning without explaining that guests may not actually be able to use it. We were awake for most of the night because the room was so warm. We politely requested some type of refund or credit since the advertised air conditioning wasn't available, but that request was denied. The property itself is nice, but customer service during this situation was very disappointing. We simply expected a comfortable night's sleep and a reasonable effort to make things right.
