I am a woman of color ,living in a land of WASP East Hampton, so thought I would support a woman owned business, if I could not find a minority-owned business. Little did I know they would treat me so terribly!!!!! Their name should have been a clue to ARROGANCE... This was the WORST Service I have ever received from a catering company. We used them for our wedding, and they made sure I knew that I wasn't spending enough money for them to care about me on my important day!! After the reception, I went to pick up the items the next day at the site and they had been left out in the rain. There were several items locked inside the office so I could not retrieve for 3 days. When I did retrieve my items, I discovered they had THROWN OUT my wedding Bouquet, and a WEDDING PRESENT!! When I contacted them about the missing items, and poor service, they were Rude and Arrogant to me about any apologies or reimbursements. ***In advance of the event, my husband contacted them to ask how much we needed to tip their staff, and were told that we DID NOT NEED TO TIP STAFF!! The staff advised me they were paid $25/hour period with ZERO ADDITIONAL TIPS. We were charged $95 per person @100 people, so where did the additional money go? Apparently to the owners and not the staff!!!*** When we did our trial event, they used gorgeous service plates that showed off the food. When we had our actual wedding reception, they used small ordinary white plates that looked terrible for the food. I would never use them nor recommend them to anyone.

We had the afternoon tea package for lunch--the sandwiches and salads were great and the parfait was AMAZING! For dinner, we had the BBQ dinner which was also very good! The delivery made it so easy for a group of 10 women to eat dinner and still have time to get ready for a night out! I can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

I wasn't going to write a negative review initially (because I am a supporter of small businesses…read moreand I don't like bashing anyone's livelihood), but since Chef Karl won't respond to the email I sent (and a follow up email) where I politely expressed our dissatisfaction with the expensive 'Hamptons style' dinner experience he provided, I'm going to share our recent experience. We contracted with Chef Karl for my wife's surprise surf & turf dinner celebration for 14 people. Chef Karl was to arrive between 4:00 and 4:30 to do all that was necessary to prepare the meal for a 7:30 start. He arrived at 6:45 citing traffic issues yet his server, who was coming from the same Hamptons location, arrived on time. The stress he was under to get the meal out was evident and it cast a backdrop of stress or tension over the experience. The appetizer he served was not what we contracted for - he must have forgotten to bring the correct food ingredients. We believe he scrambled and decided to use part of the steak that was meant for the turf portion of the main entree as the appetizer. We believe this because two of the guests who could not eat lobster (the chef knew this well in advance) only received four small and thin slices of steak as their main entree (we expected them to receive their own steak given that everyone else had close to two pound lobsters plus a similar amount of steak). Other guests gave their portions of steak to those two guests so that they could have a reasonably sized meal. The salad he served was also not what was contracted for. The meal was to be served with a potato mash and an au jus. Because he was late, the potato mash was served a third of the way into the meal - and dry. No au jus. The server made her way around the table plopping a spoonful of mashed potatoes on each guest's plate. Had he arrived reasonably on time, the potatoes could have been plated along with the main entree - and with the au jus. He ran out of the vanilla ice cream topping for the chocolate cake and two or three of the guests received their dessert plate with a melted ice cream drizzle poured from the bottom of the ice cream container. I've hired a few chefs in the past for private dinner celebrations and I have attended dinner parties of the same arranged by friends and business colleagues. Each time, the chef engaged with the guests, told stories, described what he/she was serving, etc. We had almost none of this with Chef Karl and the only time during the meal that he engaged with us was when I reached out and asked him about one of his celebrity clients. Mistakes are totally understandable - I have no issues with that - but he should have owned his mistakes and offered to make it all right. Instead, he offered not a syllable of an explanation about any of the menu changes nor serving issues and he seemingly expected that he could smooth it all through unnoticed. Not cool. Oh, and he charges, in advance, a minimum gratuity of 20%.

He was so easy to work with and helped me create a menu that appealed to a group of 10+ girls. To say the food was extraordinary would be an understatement. The salad course was so light and a great start to the meal. The pasta was phenomenal and the steak was hands down the best steak I've had in my life. I wish I took a picture of the chocolate lava cake but I was too eager to jump in and eat. There wasn't a clean plate in the house. We splurged and added on wait staff that Karl provides. She was so attentive and fun. She made sure the wine was flowing (it was a bachelorette party after all!) and was quick to clear plates without interrupting the party. We all plan to use them again in the future. It was the highlight of our weekend and the best home chef experience I have had.

Robyn is incredibly professional and truly makes you feel like your meal is her number one priority. She worked with me to create a menu that would work for all guests, including one who was lactose intolerant / vegetarian. Upon arrival she went right to work and although multitasking kept the kitchen calm and inviting. We enjoyed watching her make fresh pasta while creating 4 additional recipes with ease. She has a lovely disposition and a passion for food that shines through. Now let's talk about the food. First off, each dish complimented each other. The ingredients were so fresh and pure that you could truly taste them all coming together with each bite. Nothing was swimming in sauce or overly salty - truly perfect. The homemade pasta reminded me of Italy and she made sure everything she uses is seasonal. The braised short ribs melted in your mouth. Ever been to a dinner party where everyone becomes incredibly quiet because the food is that good? It happened! We finished the night off with a vegan chocolate pie that left the group asking for the recipe. While we were enjoying everything, Robyn cleaned the kitchen and left it spotless. Everyone was floored by her food and I can honestly say it was talked about the entire time and will be for years to come. I feel thankful I found such a quality chef. I am looking for reasons to book her this summer!

We were deciding between a few caterers and had a tasting with the Perry's that just sealed the deal. They are two amazingly warm people -- of course it helps that John is incredibly organized and good at his job and that Nikki makes the most delicious bites. We devoured every little last bite at that tasting.. Nothing went to waste! John was so helpful with everything leading up to the day of as well, from picking out rentals, to working out our timeline. We decided to have a different format (cocktail stations as opposed to a formal sit-down dinner) and working together, John helped us make sure we'd have a smooth flow and that everything would go off without a hitch. As we were working out the details with the rentals, I never felt like he was pushing me one way or the other -- even when he put together the list of kitchen items they'd need (my venue did not provide any set-up), I knew he was being careful about not over-ordering. I really felt like he had my best interests in mind at all times. Having him to coordinate all the details made me feel at ease.. I knew I was in good hands! On our actual wedding day, we were so well taken care of. The staff made sure we were eating (haha, doesn't always happen at weddings!) and everything ran so smoothly. Later in the evening, a very traumatic family emergency happened during the reception that put a frightening pause on the celebration. John was a rock and I really felt like I looked to him for the "What now?" John & Nikki were different from some of our other vendors with whom we'll probably not be in touch again. I feel like we'll be sending John & Nikki Christmas cards for years to come.. :) They embraced us and made us feel like family, and I'm certain they will you too.
