First and foremost, with all the choices that…read morewe made during the process of planning our wedding on the North Fork, choosing our caterer was easy. We were deciding between a few caterers and had a tasting with the Perry's that just sealed the deal. My (now) husband and I walked out of there saying it felt like we just had lunch with our aunt & uncle, it felt like we had known them that long! They are two amazingly warm people -- of course it helps that John is incredibly organized and good at his job and that Nikki makes the most delicious bites. We devoured every little last bite at that tasting.. Nothing went to waste! John was so helpful with everything leading up to the day of as well, from picking out rentals, to working out our timeline. We decided to have a different format (cocktail stations as opposed to a formal sit-down dinner) and working together, John helped us make sure we'd have a smooth flow and that everything would go off without a hitch. As we were working out the details with the rentals, I never felt like he was pushing me one way or the other -- even when he put together the list of kitchen items they'd need (my venue did not provide any set-up), I knew he was being careful about not over-ordering. I really felt like he had my best interests in mind at all times. Having him to coordinate all the details made me feel at ease.. I knew I was in good hands! On our actual wedding day, we were so well taken care of. The staff made sure we were eating (haha, doesn't always happen at weddings!) and everything ran so smoothly. Later in the evening, a very traumatic family emergency happened during the reception that put a frightening pause on the celebration. John was a rock and I really felt like I looked to him for the "What now?" John & Nikki were different from some of our other vendors with whom we'll probably not be in touch again. I feel like we'll be sending John & Nikki Christmas cards for years to come.. :) They embraced us and made us feel like family, and I'm certain they will you too.

We wanted our dinner to feel like a Michelin-star-rated experience, and they delivered that and more. Our guest are still talking about the hors d'oeuvres passed around during cocktail hour. As the bride, I unfortunately did not get to enjoy that hour between pictures and getting ready for our entrance into the reception, but Matt thinks of all that, and every time I turned around there was a plate for my husband, wedding party and I waiting. The lobster rolls were my favorite. They were very popular amongst our guest as well. The French-style service was flawless. The food came out piping hot and our guest really enjoyed being able to eat a little of each meat brought out. They didn't have to pick an entree; they were served everything! They were able to eat the chicken, tuna, AND steak if they wanted! The dishes were bursting with flavor. One thing that truly sets them apart is their gift for hospitality. Each server and bartender treated our guests with warmth and professionalism. I had a cocktail on my table every time I turned around with fresh ice. Although, I didn't get to drink much lol. I would love to comment on my communication with them; however, I eventually hired wedding planners to take care of that on my behalf. They did mention that Christine is very professional and easy to communicate with. Before I brought them on though, Matt was very quick to return any calls and even did a house visit during one of my pre-wedding panic attacks to assure me that he had it! If you're looking for a caterer who elevates food and brings genuine heart to their work, Christopher Michaels catering is it! I will 100% recommend them and use them for any future celebrations. This place not only passed the vibe check, it's on its own level of coolness that demanded a vibe check of me. From the glittery epoxy floors, to the hand carved wooden creatures, colorful, creative and unique ceiling murals, multiple textures, and art deco and pop art features throughout, you feel fully immersed in an artist's dream from the second you walk in. The lighting and the French music playing overhead also lend themself to the unique experience. I ordered a margarita and 2 sips in, I found myself even more relaxed and enjoying more and more of the decor details of the cafe that I continued to notice throughout. The menu offered so many options, including quite a few vegan options, but I settled on the watermelon salad (weekly special), the boats n hoes spring rolls (veggie), and the Vegan Burger. The watermelon salad was so fresh and delicious, and it complemented my (2nd!) margarita perfectly! The spring rolls were perfectly crispy and flavorful and the vegan burger was the star of the show and was absolutely perfect, especially with the added fresh avocado on top! This place was somehow made even more fantastic by the quick-witted, fun-loving, hilarious owner/host/server, Marco, who provided us with great service and even better stories (were they all true??!!!). I highly recommend entering this magical establishment as soon and as often as possible so that you can count yourself lucky enough to have experienced it.

The restaurant we originally picked had a 20 minute wait... and with two hangry toddlers, we crossed the street and saw a restaurant sign on top of a neat looking bar. It is actually next to a bar as well, so we eyeing sure it was for the kids. I stood outside and the clock struck 2pm, and a nice gentleman opened the velvet rope for us and said "come in, we were open." Not knowing if this was for the kids or not, we walked in and saw one of the most interesting interiors I have seen in awhile. It was fun and different. The manager made it fun as well as he has a great attitude and happy to help in terms of recommendations. The menu itself is big and you will need some help. The first thing was needing to get food to two little hangry ones, so we asked for noodles, which he got on immediately, getting in a pancit order. That came out first and my wife and I took a few extended moments as the menu is extensive. I ordered the chicken and waffle with bang bang shrimp and my wife had the steak with rice and onions. Both dishes were flavorful and definitely enjoyable. I could definitely go back in again if I ever head back or East, but maybe taking the Long Island railroad would be better since it is across the street from the train station. Definitely stop in for a drink and enjoy the cool little toys and designs around the restaurant. This restaurant definitely provides variety of you want to try something new!
