Best Skateshop in the GTA, great gear, good prices and deeply involved with the Skateboarding community.

This cool little boutique skate shop could be missed if you blinked when walking past it, but the…read morelong windows and double entrance way (the other side was the sneaker store Livestock, years ago) draw your attention to the impressively minimalist decor that is adrift skate shop. As I've alluded to, this is not your typical skate shop. In fact, you, like me, probably wondered if it actually IS an a real skate shop or merely one that has skate decks on the wall, when you first walk in. It's a real skate shop, void of skate posters and that old school feeling and replaced with smooth concrete floors, decks displayed on the wall with see-thru fishing wire and backlit shelves of the latest in skateboard footwear. There's glass cases (vertical, not the typical scratched up length wise cases you find at most other skate shops which I love too, but vive La difference) filled with trucks, bearings and wheels) and a back section of shoes discounted to $65 plus even more clothing. I found the service to be very helpful. No attitude and answered all my questions. Many times for stores like this, you read about the intimidating attitudes you can get, but didn't find that here. Come in, and browse away. I bought a couple pairs of Nike SB, and will be back again. Sweet kicks and good prices. Sign me up! Worth the trip!

I like to stop in at Adrift and ogle the items whenever I get the change. Skatewear is awesome!…read moreOf course Adrift has lost some of its roots with its old location in the market and having the indoor training area in the back, but that's gentrification for ya! Prices are in line with the King West area, no poor students around here. But if you want something a little different, or off the wall, check this place out. Stock levels always seem very low so you can peruse and get in and out of the place in a few minutes so do drop in!

I never noticed this store before until I saw huge signs saying "80% OFF". It turns out the store…read moreopened 2020-08-12 at the former Boathouse location. Due to pandemic health restrictions, it has been closed since 2020-11-23 and was allowed to reopen 2021-03-08 at 25% capacity. I went around 16:30 and was the only customer in there. This store is mostly a clothing store focusing on males youth to young adults. There are sweatshirts, T-shirts, hoodies, pants, jackets, socks, shoes, and boots. In addition to clothing, there are skateboards, push scooters, and face masks. Some are very colourful due to the targetted young customer audience. Even the wall decorations look like tasteful graffiti. Currently there is a sale of 50% to 80%. This seems to be typical of major clothing stores (like Winners and Marshalls) once they reopened after 100 days. There is a sign at the front entrance saying "Text 1297 to 94949 10% OFF your next purchase". The staff are very courteous. The store itself has a back section which has a single step up. There is a changeroom in the back (but is closed during pandemic times). The main entrance is from Yonge St and there is a secondary smaller entrance from the Atrium on Bay shopping mall. There is hand sanitizer at the entrance and face masks are requires. During pandemic times, the smaller mall entrance is locked. There is only two staff but one went on break when I was there. I doubt there was free WiFi. There are no customer washrooms (you can use the public washrooms located at the other end of the mall). 2021-037 You can also find me on Instagram @chuan_chee. Thanks.

Zero Stars - Buyers, WATCH OUT!…read more BUYERS, WATCH OUT! TASK Shop Canada are absolute scammers and their business is basically a legal scam. Their so-called "easy returns" policy is a complete lie designed to cheat innocent buyers. If you ask for a refund, they charge you for both shipping and return, even if you refuse the delivery. You are double-charged. They push you to try the item, even if it doesn't fit, just so they can deny your refund. Their refund rules don't apply to used or even slightly tried items. The amount they deduct for shipping and return is outrageous, leaving you with almost nothing. Their return policy is pure trickery. Avoid them at all costs!

Shop Task is a great store. I was looking for places to buy blades from and wanted to go to a store…read morespecifically selling blades rather than going to Canadian Tyre. I called Eric and he asked me questions and recommended what I needed. He was extremely helpful. His recommended size worked perfectly. After a month of blading, I also went for lessons with Eric. This was amazing. He assessed my level and taught me accordingly. The lesson is a bang for the buck because he is patient, teaches you enough material for few weeks of practice, and of course he knows the right skills to teach. I highly recommend both the store and the lessons.
