After 5 weeks, without any improvement, I still could not lift my arm above shoulder height, I saw Dr. Cohen. He immediately diagnosed my problem (rotator cuff out of alignment) and adjusted my body. The results are amazing, first off, my daily pain has now subsided, and I am able to reach my arm across my body, and over my head, something I could not do last week. After about 5 sessions, I noticed a change in my anxiety (a harder disorder to see progress in but still) and I saw progress in my energy levels (also hard to explain). I was so happy to have found affordable acupuncture! Then I moved to Chapel Hill and going to Raleigh became inconvenient to travel to. Recently, I've been having issues with TMD (Temporomandibular joint dysfunction). I've hardly been able to chew for the last 3 months. After seeing a dentist and physical therapist for over 2 months, I finally found my way back to acupuncture. After one treatment my jaw was so much looser than it had been. It definitely is not a quick fix but I finally am seeing promise! Basically, if you think acupuncture can't help you, think again. Jim is a great guy and explains everything to you. He answered all of my questions very thoroughly. He just moved down the hall to a larger space. It was still under construction when I went last, but it looks like it'll be great, relaxing space. I will also state that if you read all the posts you will see i posted about 3 yrs ago. With that being said here you go. My dealings with Jim started 3 yrs ago. This came after going to chiropractor for over a yr along with my own stretching. I also used the inversion table. The pain and discomfort wouldnt go away. Ive had lower back surgery for spine issues and this pain was differant. So I also used accupunture in past with great results. So I went to 1 near me. After my 2nd visit I knew she was not the 1 for me. Trust me when I say ALL accupunturists are not created equal.. Just like western medicine. Some are specialists for a reason. Sorry to say its called skillsets. So now im on the search and i came upon Jim. Im not going to lie, the first to treatments were tough. Jim went right to work ... I will admit i was like wow and a lil nervous. But by the 6th treatment i felt amazing. The pain was gone. I could sleep and I could hug my other half without pain going down my leg. Here it is 3 yrs later and alls well with my leg. So at this point im like hmmmm. I may have found THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH....LOL...So since i was your typical male growing up , I had the mentality of you cant hurt me...well im here to tell you I was wrong. There are days that i ache like i got hit by a car in my upper body.. So Doc ( Jim ) and i chatted and he started on my shoulders. He got me to feeling awesome . Best i felt in yrs and im in my 60s...So i had all intentions on getting back to exercise to maintain my body. Thats the key to a healthy life...well like most americans i didnt start my exercise so i was feeling achy and having issues moving my arms... so i called Jim and said I need your help and we really examined my issues. During that Jim found a muscle group that was weaker then it should be , hence making other muscles do overtime.. So between his work and his exercises im back to feeling good. So all I can say is give this man a try. And give him a chance to figure out whats causing your issues. I can say is it took us years to beat ourselves to this point. I attended Dr. Baccerra's office for my brother's care. In the beginner the care was great. There…read morewas an occasional issue with medication refills. On September, 23 my brother did blood work on a Monday and always had an office visit several days later. When I called a week or so later I was told he was to have a physical, not an office visit. This has never been the case... I am his Healthcare. Power of Attorney so I knew that was not correct and nobody had told me. I asked about his blood work to be told it was incomplete. I asked why I was told to call Lab Corp to see what the hold-up was. I called Lab Corpor only to be told the sample received was not usable and they had advised the doctor's office. The Lady also explained they should have given me a call to schedule more blood work. I called Dr. Baccerra's office back and was told to bring him in. The CBC was done and no call to advise of the results. I again visited the doctor's office and asked why I wasn't called with the results. It was written on the blood work to make sure POA got a copy. Today was his office visit they still saying physical was for the visit. I told Dr. Baccerra that there was a mix-up and discussed the issues I had from the previous interaction with his office. He began to tell me in so many words that I was wrong about the blood work. When I finally pinned him on the fact that I was right. He proceeded to discharge my brother from his practice. And became some what combative and accusing me of being rude. I asked for better clarification for the mix-up. I couldn't believe he would discharge a 73-year-old patient. Instead of an apology, he became angrier. and because he wasn't telling the truth he rather discharge my brother. I got his license number and left the office. My goal was to ensure my brother got the best care due to his age. If you are not satisfied with a doctor's explanation you can ask them to clarify. If they discharge you that is not the practice for you. Please locate a doctor who takes your concerns seriously.
