I brought my fiance here for what was supposed to be a simple trim because our wedding is this following weekend. We both have had bad haircut experiences in the past, so he asked me to find a barber/salon, and I spent a lot of time researching before choosing this place. We walked in excited and genuinely expecting a good experience. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, I felt completely unwelcome. And I'm not crazy! My fiance noticed this as well. The entire staff was female, and I was made to feel like it was strange or inappropriate that I was there with my own partner. He wanted me there because he values my opinion, especially with our wedding only days away. Instead of feeling like a valued customer, I felt like a whole inconvenience simply for quietly sitting to the side and occasionally helping communicate what we were looking for. The dismissive looks and overall attitude toward me made the entire experience uncomfortable and unprofessional. As disappointing as that was, the haircut itself was even worse. We asked for a simple trim. Instead, his hair was cut far too short, the back is uneven and extremely choppy, and his front hairline was cut crooked. It honestly looks like the stylist abandoned what we requested and decided to cut his hair according to her own vision instead. If her vision was that she hated him and wanted him to know it. The end result looks nothing like what we discussed. This wasn't a minor difference in preference, no, it was an objectively poor haircut. We trusted this salon with his hair just days before one of the biggest moments of our lives, and now we're trying to figure out how to make it presentable for our wedding photos. I rarely leave negative reviews for anywhere I'm the type to just never come back, but this experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. Between feeling unwelcome as a customer and the quality of the haircut itself, I cannot recommend this salon to anyone except maybe my worst enemy. My so asked for a simple low fade, and some off top. He was left with a patchy high fade & his hairline was pushed back so far it made absolutely no sense. You're pretty much paying 40$ for a "Complimentary" drink and cable tv. Only after seeing his horrific haircut did manager tell him the that the lady that cut my hair is a cosmetologist, not a barber. If I would have known he wasn't getting a real barber, I would have had him wait for a barber. He has to wait for it to grow back. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the manager did comp the hair cut and give him a free cut by one of their "top barbers". I think they should let customers know up front if they are sitting in a barber's chair or in a stylists. There's a significant difference between skill taught. read more

Marcus did a good job with my hair but wasn't impressed at the place. They try very hard to be fancy but it really is just a dressed up great clips. Their wood floor was popped up all over the place for some reason and like I said wasn't impressed at all. Didn't like having to give my credit card just to secure an appointment either. read more

The barbers are minimal, and turnover is outrageous. On two separate occasions our go-to barber has "suddenly left" without notice, along with gossipy whispers around the salon on what may have happened to them. Please keep the employee gossip to yourself... it is not how you want to spend your wind-down time after a day at the office. On our last attempt to find a THIRD new favorite barber, we went to a female barber that destroyed my husbands locks. She was doing undercuts (what is supposed to be done on females) and had no experience cutting a man's hair. Worst experience with this location ever! I booked a mani/pedi for my Husband's birthday which was suppose to be a time of relaxation, but turned out to be the opposite. He was scheduled for an appointment for 4PM and upon arrival, was not even greeted. He arrived for his 4 o'clock appointment at 3:40, and when he was FINALLY acknowledged, was told he would have to wait an additional 25 minutes because of an "emergency ". He waited, and waited..... and waited some more and NOTHING. No one came to check in on him or anything! After waiting for about 45 minutes, he decided to leave. When he got back to the front and told them he was leaving, the person assigned to complete his services simply said "okay" very unapologetic. They didn't try to offer any type of apology or compensation for wasting HIS TIME on what was suppose to be his special day. If you want to be treated as simply a number, feel free to come here. I have been getting my haircut and beard trimmed here since they opened, so that is 4 cuts total. I always see Shea and she has not let me down. I like the atmosphere and service they provide. You can wait in the back with a lounge chair, personal t.v .and a drink, hard to beat that. At the end of the day, premium establishments provide superior service and they (or at least Shea) does. She makes me look better than the competition in the area and that makes it worth it. So far I have had no complaints and I plan on being a member for a long time. read more

Massively overpriced for level of service. Basically this place turns a $40 service into a $120 one because of the sports on tv. They don't even have massage chairs and real pedicure stations. Its just a tub for your feet that they fill with a pot. For the money I'd expect a spa level experience with a real hand and foot massage. They didn't even clean my cuticles up properly. The lady cutting my hair was super nice but the one at the front was very pushy and rude. More like trying to sell a product not a service. Affordable, convenient, quick, friendly staff, exceptional stylists, checks all of my boxes. After a year of weekly agonizing trips to the tune up salon finally decided to give this place a try and so glad I did. While H&N is by no means recreating the wheel, they are seemingly doing a much better job of it than most. Somewhere between the boardroom and tune up you find H&N which not only hits a price point that most can afford, the establishment also does a nice job at customer service while maintaining a professional vibe. As a base haircut only every 4 weeks customer, the value isn't here for me compared to Tune Up. Tune Up offers same haircut, shampoo, face towel, and (two instead of one) drink. Would I go again to Hammer & Nail? Absolutely. Is the fit & finish more premium? Absolutely. Is the haircut 99% the same at either place? Yes. Asking for customers to pay $40 instead of $25 is too much for a nicer storefront. If I come back, it will be to support my hair dresser. read more

Truly a sad operation, management is unresponsive they can't seem to keep staff I've been with three different stylists since they opened two of the stylists were very good and did a great razor cut, the other was a total dud have never done a razor cut and freaked out when is ask for it. I don't mind paying more for a quality haircut , if you're going to charge $60.00 for a haircut please try and do what is ask. And now to stay on hold twice for 10 minutes each time only to get to leave a message (not very professional)during normal business hours. I do believe the owner of this franchise needs to take a serious look at this operation with and eye towards living up to the franchise ideals of good service in a comfortable relaxing environment. I am very disappointed. I scheduled online for a haircut, beard trim, and hand and foot treatment. I scheduled this two days before the appointment and for a very specific time that was available. All services would have added up to around $180. The night before my appointment, I received a text from Lacey asking if I would be willing to move my appointment. I replied back when I saw the text the next morning and explained that I am not able to move my appointment. I did not get a response back, and I arrived to the appointment at the scheduled time. I was informed that my appointment had been rescheduled. I was told that they could fit me in for part of services I had scheduled and offered the service at 50%. Normally, I am very flexible and would have accepted the mixup with just some mild annoyance, but I had this scheduled in a very specific way and could not reschedule. I accept the higher prices of this establishment because I do want quality service. I did not need a discount on the service, what I needed was for the services to be provided at the scheduled time. I have been paying for a membership to this place, but I will likely be canceling this membership. I cannot express how much I was looking forward to the services I had scheduled, and how disappointed I am that they failed to deliver. read more

More like if you have a nail hammer to your head... had a 7:30 pm appt and they found out at 6 pm that they more then likely couldn't get me in... yet no call no update but when I arrived and called they told me I could get in on Saturday... today is Thursday.... maybe is a good place to get your haircut I don't know. Just when you have an appointment make sure to call 3 hours before to make sure they are still on schedule... be aware of the excuse that another customer may have had too much hairs so they are running an hour and a half behind.... read more

Would give a zero if I could. Made an appointment for my son to have his haircut there and explained to the receptionist what style of haircut he normally gets. She was very polite and attentive and explained that she added extra time to make sure he would get the proper haircut. We arrived 4 minutes late to appointment and my son had to use the restroom. The stylist said she would not be able to rinse out his hair since we were already late. I apologized and told her maybe we need to reschedule so that I wouldn't make her late for her next appt and so the haircut would not be rushed. She assured me that she could still do the cut. When I showed her a picture of what he wanted, she says you need to reschedule that is more of a signature cut because of all the tapering and the fact that it was a bald fade. I repeatedly told her he has never had a bald fade to the scalp and she proceeded to argue with me as to it being so. I have been in the cosmetology industry for over 11 years and I believe I know what a bald fade is. At this point, her attitude was so rude and I decided we did not need someone with that demeanor to cut his hair and so we walked out. I was willing to pay adult prices for the haircut and had even tried to make an appt for a pedicure for my son. They not only lost a first time customer, but a future customer or customers because I will never recommend anyone to this establishment. I have been here three times now with no appointment and was sat down for the Signature Cut within 15 minutes! What I have liked the most so far was consistency!
